Anything Popcornflix puts out, it's always quality posting, love to watch the credits, just excellence. Loved the movie, too. I think Rich Schroder was underrated as an adult actor; he was beautiful looking and a great actor.

Being a little kid I found this book with illustrations and couldn't wait to grow up enough to be able to read it.
Very good flick. Very surprised as I hadn't much liked these kinds of movies. This one seemed much more of a *movie* and not all the cgi overacting drama in so many others.
I only watched because I absolutely love Rickie Shroder!
I remember Ricky Schroder from Silver Spoons back in the early 1980s, pretty cool seeing him all grown up.
I remember him on the old Mike Douglas show bawling his eyes out because he didn't get a screen award or something.
@@LoneBrowncoat I think I remember seeing that, and he couldn't have been crying because he lost an award, because he was the youngest Golden Globe winner ever. For some reason I have a recollection Johnny was amazed at his acting skills and got him to do something like a scene from the movie where he cries.
It's amazing that during such an arduous journey of a lifetime, Mrs. Dennison's makeup is perfect throughout.

I have recently been watching several of the movies that are remakes based on the classic adventure stories of Verne and others. However the visual feel of this one is the best I've seen. The colour tones and silhouettes; mist and shadows and even the costumes. It's really top notch and raises the quality of the experience. It didn't go overboard on the monstrous creatures and that's usually where a lower budget film falls short and degrades it. This was just a good all around adventure.

@@nihilist4184The original was the novel published in 1864, the movie from 1959 was just the first of several film adaptations.
Quite an adventure, but not very realistic. Who goes journeying with only one little back pack each, no food, no tent, no sleeping bag ? Then at the end comes out just as clean, and in the same clothes as the day they left. The original was the best journey ever, and still has my heart !

Wtf is this rubbish this is not the intense wonderful movie made in 1959 with Bernard Hermann music this is just utter crap and the actors and their pale script is just lame.

Because they want to LIVE a long life, not a short one.
When they die, they know nothing at all so the "at least they died doing what they wanted" makes no sense.
its a good expedition movie and map reading and navigation skills are taught. this movie should be shown in military academies. being an army officer, i strongly recommend.
Alaska is considered one of the more Dangerous States in the United States due to the amount of dangerous conditions and wildlife! But it is very beautiful state!

It’s always awesome to see a new interpolation of a classic story with a new spin on it. I really liked it. Don’t ever judge and base what you think on past efforts. Instead look with fresh eyes and a excited sense of new discovery and enjoy the film for the wonder and enjoyment it gives you.

At least two of these actors, Victoria Pratt was in "Mutant X" back in the 1990s as one of the leads, the one playing Sergey was in the final season of Stargate SG 1 as an interstellar hit man going after SG-1, plus guest spots on Supernatural and other shows made in Vancouver and Toronto.
the way the 4 of them were laughing - it looked like they were struggling to get out the lines due to the extreme cold - i hope it took only one take

There is a lot of entities that are in the forest, parks, oceans, underground, in mountains, caves, and mines. A lot of stuff that the powers at be have found out about and have not told the public about and seem to not have any plans for telling the public anything about the stuff they have kept secret. With the internet and cell phones being available to the public, a lot of information about things can be shared across the world in seconds so some information about things has been slowly getting out to the public and the people are the disclosure of the information. No governments are going to give the public and their enemy's information about what they have reverse engineered, have working, or plan on getting it to work. That is stuff they do not want enemy's or other countries to know about.

Amazing that the world's greatest stories truly travel the globe.
I had to watch it to the end because I felt it was not above an 8 year old's entertainment and I was not disappointed with my assessment.

Super Hokey Movie... Fun to watch! I have to say, I'm really impressed with Rick Schroeder. He grew up to be a man with gravitas. I would have never guessed that little Ricky Schroeder would turn out so well.

This could have had a better story line, but it’s ok, sometimes it’s harder to make remake of a film already well known. I loved how they had the nation’s people into though. But, I definitely liked the original myself though, that one had a stronger and more interesting story line and the actors/actresses put more of themselves into it and gave it a more realistic version of the Jules Verne rendition. All in all though I did enjoy watching this film. 😊😊😊😊😊

The old James Mason rendition can't be beat. Better special effects, acting and color. A true fantasy movie.
As the third rendition of this attempt at Jules Verne's masterpiece I can truthfully say Follywood has hacked it up the worst.

I'm a little embarassed to say I liked it but yet I admire the folks that enjoyed it despite all the ridiclousness and the folks that slammed it and saw no redeeming value at all, I probably wouldn't want to be friends with. That said- how in the hell does entering a fastly flooding cave seem like a good risk to escape back to the surface? Hahahahaha- just too much. But still fun!
I love how the tribal people, somehow had figured out how to make steel cable, metal wheels and put it all together to create a zipline. The film makers somehow thought just sticking some moss and twigs to it, would make it look "primitive."
natives have been making rope FOREVER, just braid vines together. Mud was ALWAYS used to 'stick stuff together'

Like many others, I remember the original with Arne Saknussen and music by Rick Wakeman, which had a surreal fantasy about it unlike this version. However, This was a fantastic twist on the story! And being a 72 year old biker, I enjoyed seeing Peter Fonda in this! hehehe...

It is just not the same movie without the musical mastery of Rick Wakeman. I am seventy plus years now so when the original came out I can assure you practically everyone in the theatre had definitely inhaled of the "good fumes" so as to enjoy that soundtrack to the maximum.
I went to see it, now 73, and I did not like the "muzak" written by Wakeman of Denham, Bucks. I hate ALL films with "muzak" soundtracks, it is NOT LIKE THAT IN REAL LIFE.

Discount ALL Hollywood "movies", they don't have the brains to strike out in a new direction.Most StarMediaEN films are "muzak" free, as are most on DUST. And I have invested in software that removes the soundtrack, difficult to learn, but worth it.

@@phillip9468 Well, to be accurate, you can WATCH it, or FEEL it, and in my house YOU CAN@T LISTEN TO IT. That genre of "films" are not let in. The best film ever, "Days of Glory" had no soundtrack, and it made it better. I had three tours of combat in Tchad and Djibouti, and while in combat therre never was any music. While we searched for the norty people there was no music playing to warn us of where they were.
Music playing over top of the films Grand Prix, or This Time Tomorrow would have killed the sounds of the engines.
Music would ruin the Goodwood Revival.
And NOTE:- I did not say you can't have YOUR muzak, you just won't get it here. That gives you a great reason not to visit, or s'visit as Paddington Bear would say.

I used to have a subscription to muscle and fitness. I recognized Victoria Pratt immediately. She's really a good actress too.
There was a series on sci-fi that starred Victoria Pratt and Gina Torres. She was called Sarge in that. Don't remember what that was called. The young gal in the beginning went on to be in stargate universe. And the Russian guy was also a regular on stargate series. Nice to see Rick Schroder again too.
Maybe the script is basically based on the book "a journey to the center of the earth" by Julius Vern, the French novelist of 16th century. It's a pretty adventurous movie, but not with enough details about their journey i.e. what they were eating and where sleeping, like in the novel of Vern. I was amazed to see the woman go for a swim in unknown waters, where smth bit her but ...didn't break the skin (!), I found the script amateurish with some gaps in the content. It made me go back to read the original novel of Vern. In general I enjoyed this movie!

I've read the book and loved the musical version by Rick Wakeman since 1974 when I was introduced to both. This had better be good.
More to come after I watch it.
Now that I have watched it, it wasn't horrible but it had very little to do with the book. Rick Wakeman's version had much better music. They took a lot of 'artistic licences' with the story.

I find that with a lot of movies.
I found this adaptation extremely poor, ridiculous, even plain STUPID... the errors in details were too numerous to even count... and a the end, when the new "couple" were planning their far East adventure... they had no food, water, supplies, or weapons with at least a 40 day hike back to civilization... with the odds of ZERO - 1%... what that means is there won't be a sequel... LMAO
@@johnwattdotca I'm not familiar with it so it really doesn't fit as far as I know. But then, what do I know? There's a lot of music I'd like but haven't heard of. I don't have time or energy to seek it all out. There's too much crap to sift through.
The book is always better… unless you add Steven Spielberg!
