If you go to enduro events you can see that 2 strokes are by no means disappearing, they are in fact becoming popular again because they don't need as much maintenance, there is less to go wrong, and when it does go wrong is a lot cheaper to fix. And your average Joe can do a piston himself. It may not be as apparent in the US, but in the rest of the world, 2strokes are still very popular.
ive been riding a while but only with a klx110 and crf80. im 5'8 but 13 years old. i know how to control high power but should i really skip an 85 for a 125? cause if i do then i can just get used to the 125s power and have a bike i will fit forever. should i do it?
i think the yz 125 is not weak at all,my uncle have one yz 125 '95 i have rode it and it's quite powerfull. (i liked it and will buy one soon) (that's my opinion)

My mate is 13 years old and has only ridden a 90cc Orion, has no experience and wants to get this YZ125. please comment back and tell him if he should get this, he will probably brake some bones on this bike.

No, if you crash your bike and it falls on you, you won't be able to get up and you'll most likely break your leg. A 250 weighs 230 pounds so if you can lift that off your body after a bad crash then go ahead but if you can't touch your feet on the ground then it not a good idea. I'm 17 and 6' 1" and I'm considering purchasing this bike, it doesn't always matter if tyke skilled enough it's usually based on height, skill, maturity, and strength. If you get it stuck you have to be able to push or carry it out at anytime so keep that in mind.
You have no idea what you are talking about. YZ450F has MORE power and MORE torque than the YZ250 (engine twice the size of the YZ125!) What are you on?

And what does honda make? only four strokes. 4 strokes do have more torque but 2 strokes have more horse power. and why didn't RV1 ride a 2 stroke? Because kawasaki doesn't even make them anymore smart one.

Uhhh, no $10 for oil every couple weeks, cleaning an air filter, and maybe rebuilding a top end a year on a two stroke compared to a four stroke where you have to shim your valves, change your oil filter every second oil change, cleaning air filter, and rebuilding a more expensive top end if you race or ride hard, plus way more moving, expensive parts on a four stroke...

I'm an old fuck, 47 and I've owned YZ's before, 2 strokes of course. And I can appreciate at least, Yamaha still makes one.
I got the Yz 125 and im 5,4 14 years old it was my first bike and its easy to learn fast on a 2 stroke its also really fast.
Go on Yamaha's website and compare the stats of the '05 and '06 suspension, they have the same stats for suspension

No comparison between the steel-framed YZ's and the 05+ Alum-framed ones. I've had both. The newer bikes are way better. No comparison at all...
