It really is a shame this beloved method of transportation is closing NEXT YEAR! While the reason makes sense; not being able to run the Mark II trains for much longer. It is understandable but what if they used the Bombardier Innovia Metro system. The Vancouver SkyTrain had Mark II trains and now they use the Innovia Metro.

It's not that they can't use Mark II's for much longer, it's that the newer models physically cannot fit on some of the areas of the line, such as a turns, etc. Also, the Mark models are called the Bombardier Innova Metro, its a family using this technology.

That's because they're the same model of trains, built by the same company!

The ttc actually planned to replace the mark 1 trains with mark 3 trains but did not recommend

After 38 years, the Scarborough RT will close on November 19. This means that commuters will have to rely on shuttle buses until the three-stop Scarborough Subway extension opens in 2030.

The line 3 motor sound sounds like Vancouver Skytrain Mark 1

Ummm, Line 3 also uses the same Mark I that the Vancouver SkyTrain uses, the only difference, is that line is not fully automated and driverless
