Yes, happy belated birthday Mary Bridget. Nice video Peter. While you admit that you are not the biggest rye fan, have you tried Hard Truth High Road Rye? It is a bourbon drinkers rye. So very good. Cheers!
@@whiskeyisajourney agree, I was lucky at BevMo three different times over the last year. Michters 10yr rye 2023 165.00 Michters 10yr bourbon 2024 195.00 Michters BS rye 2024 130.00 All are really nice! Looking for a toasted! Cheers!
My son really liked the Michter's Rye, I was not a fan. I let my son take the bottle. I like rye, more spice more better. However, for the price on a low proof, this one is a skip.
Thank you! I feel like I’m learning enough to add a semi-valid opinion for NEW whiskey drinkers that are close to where I am in my early journey. I appreciate the nice feedback. 😊Cheers!
I call these barely legal rye whiskies "High Rye Bourbons".. 😄😄😄 But it is fruity, lightly spiced with smooth and pronounced flavors. I recently tried the barrel strength version of Michter's US1 Rye (a limited release) and it is deep and refined, loaded with honey, sweet vanilla cream and tobacco. Absolutely wonderful.
I know you are a rye fan and my guess is that this does not have enough of the rye spice for you. Am I correct? I think I am a fan of those barely legal rye mash bills because it is lacking the rye spice. Cheers
I really appreciate your reviews, Peter. I really enjoy JD barrel proof rye, so this Michter's is on the 'buy" list. Thanks!
Thanks. I really appreciate that. I hope you enjoy it when you try it. Cheers!
Woodfords all day - Skip it
Belated Happy Birthday Mary 🥃
Delicious pour. I always have Michter’s rye open and back ups
This one impressed me. As you may know I am not the biggest rye fan, but I like this one for sure. Cheers!

The only Hard Truth that I have had is the Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye Malted Rye batch 001
I'm not a rye guy either, but I've gotten Rittenhouse a few times and enjoyed it.
Oh crap, a SIP! Agree, Michter's makes some good whiskeys.
I was surprised it was a sip. Sips are becoming scarce these days. Cheers!
Happy Birthday Mary
She will be back for some more videos this Friday and Monday. Stay tuned. Cheers!
Do I see a few Bookers back there? Foreshadowing?
I haven't bought a Booker's since I did my First Friday Flight Fight with them over a year ago. I might have just rearranged some stuff.
Nice! I think the entire Michters core lineup has a rich, bold, nice viscosity, and full of flavor for low proof pours! Cheers!
Every bottle I've had from Michters I've liked. Still waiting to get my hands on the harder to get bottles like the 10 year and toasted rye. Cheers!

My favorite bottle as a whiskey amateur
It's a good one. Cheers!

I am not a big rye fan so it's not a surprise that I liked this one. Not a lot of rye spice in it. I guess your son lucked out. Cheers!
Happy Birthday Mary you add a lot to the channel. Peter, do you have a favorite Port Finished Whiskey? Also, if you haven't maybe a port finish flight
Two months ago I had my channel anniversary and I did a port flight. Cheers!
@@whiskeyisajourney ok I will find it now sorry I missed that.
