- It's no secret that Hesco is our go-to brand for Armor. Special threat plates are an excellent, and affordable option, which is why we sell them. In this video, Brandon goes over the special threat plates that we sell here at T.REX.
The L210s punched so far about their weight it’s crazy. Glad y’all asked them to essentially recreate them with the T212. I picked up the M210s last year and am super happy with those as well. MUCH more comfortable and similar weight to the L210s.
Knowing my wife and I can both don body armor in case of emergency is incredibly reassuring.
Oh man. Hang in there bud.
Too bad they still don't stop .308
Buffman range did a great test of the m210. It looks like it was well worth the money. I'm glad I picked up a couple of them. They're very comfortable.
Stop trolling.
@aesthetic8780 what exactly do you mean here bro?

@jamesharding3459 what's your problem?
Very informative video
Appreciate the explanation on the differences plates
Thanks
I’ve had a set of L210 plates for a couple of years in my AC1. They’re great for the price. Definitely going to pick up a set of these as a secondary/backup set in another carrier.
Yeah but they are easily defeated by 556/223 😅so you know keep that in mind. 556 is the failure threshold for that plate.
@@hemanofeternia9954 that’s just incorrect.
Just got the M210’s and the new AC1.5 🤘🏼can’t wait to set it up
The bigger size options of the M210 is under appreciated
Was planning on buying the T212 for my wife, but this made me go with the M210 instead… got me
When can we expect the side armor cummerbund for the AC carriers???
I’d buy special threat side plates if you guys ever look into it. Up armoring is nice
They have the L110 special threat side plates on their site
I am totally ordering that Eotech shirt
You stated the T212 is slightly heavier than the 211 but the stats on this video and on the website say the T212 is lighter at 4.7 lbs per plate while the 211 is 4.9 lbs per plate.
Yeah, that was my bad! I was backwards.
Do you know if hesco plans on making an m211 ? (multicurve with 11 capabilities)
1:14 I believe you meant as threat level (or whatever phrasing you used) goes up & weight goes down the price goes up
L210s are fantastic, I like them for their weight and how skinny they are...but I really mostly love them for their shooter cut but I wanna try multi-curve because the top of my L210s stick out by a mile at the top
I have purchased M210s and I should be getting them next week.
I really wish they were also available in shooter cut...they are mostly available in SAPI and sometimes you can find swimmers cut...I opted for swimmers cut because I cant shoulder a rifle very good with SAPI cut plates...
If I remember Ill comment later on how they feel and if theyre worth the extra coin
(PC is a JPC 2.0)
Yeah M210 (multi curve is significantly better) in comfort and if you have a bigger chest...you don't have a two inch gap on the top of your chest
I personally prefer the swimmers cut over sapi cut...wish they were easier to find
What blows my mind, is how literally the only thing I care about is how it performs against 5.56 out of a 16-20" barrel at fairly close range..... and literally almost all the options except for very expensive plates fail at this threat.... What is the cheapest I can go to protect against regular speed M193?
A level 4?
@@DumbGrunt.0311 You think the cheap level 4's are any good? Hesco level 4's are very expensive.
@@MannElite unfortunately hesco is gonna be one of the more “affordable” options for level 4 plates. Quality American made and scientifically proven level 4 ceramic armor is expensive. You could look at RMA armament as well and they might be slightly cheaper
one thing I've noticed over the years... yall have a very different idea of what constitutes "budget"...
It's your life stop being a poor and take it seriously
That’s because they promote GOOD gear, not junk. Don’t be afraid to save up and spend decent money on this type of stuff.
How much is rent? How much does your car cost? How much do you spend in excessive on groceries for comfort foods or fast food?
Maybe you just suck at budgeting lol
Skip the subscriptions, eating out, buying beer, nicotine products, video games, buying new clothes and you will most likely be able to afford budget gear that is at the bare minimum of quality and reliability.
Yeah nothing from hesco is budget, they will more than likely stop selling hesco soon as their price is 400% higher than when they started selling, hesco is not a stellar oem anyway tbh and dynema plates already are way cheaper way lighter and waaaaay more durable, the one con is modern dynema doesn’t stop green tip but neither does the L210, the L210 won’t even stop a hot 55.6 from round that’s not budget that’s suicide. Just buy a dynema plate at that point.
Multi curve plates are the way
The SNR is so high on these videos… just awesome! 👏
Got it! M210 is the next set then. L210 is great but yes it conceals like garbage.
3810 gang speak up! * cries in $100 bills *

Y’all do internship in return for a built out speed belt
I was recently checking out the RMA Level IIIA+ plate.. extremely light and stops rifle rounds.. for cheap. pretty interesting.
I have Level IV ceramic plates
wish they would sell the XL's, hate buying from unknow company's and sucks having a broad chest.
How big are you? Because I’m gonna be real man unless you’re a giant. You don’t need an XL
I could have used this video like 5 to 12 hrs ago
So, will 7.62x51 (m80 ball) penetrate? If so why wouldn't they include it? Most lvl 3s that won't stop m855 will stop m80 ball?
I ask because m80 ball is pretty popular round for any one shooting 308 gas guns
If I remember correctly: yes. There’s just physically not enough mass in the plate. I run lvl 4 on front and back and soft on the sides for work and wonder if special threats with soft armor could beat your common full power cartridges
Because they aren’t designed to stop them. This is for intermediate caliber (carbine) caliber. While the m80 won’t penetrate, it will likely fail backface deformation standards of the NIJ. So it cannot fall under any of the classifications laid out by those standards.
Bro hot 556 goes right though these. 223/556 are the threshold of failure. They will take weak subsonic 30 cal rounds but anything with powder behind it is going right though.
@@hemanofeternia9954 “hot 5.56 will go through these.”
Pray tell, what is M855A1?
They should’ve all been multi curve
Ok
M210 Gang! 😂
I'd rather get level 4
ok
@@ireilly2000 cry
Going with single curve for the T212 seems like a huge mistake. It's just way less comfortable than multi curve, not worth the cost savings.
I bought a couple single curve plates but found the front uncomfortable. I relegated them to the back of my plate carriers and used multi curve for the front and it’s actually very nice that way
I’ll take 10 of each pair. What I like hard stuff.
The m210's are so heavy compared to the single curve plates. Need m211's that are sub 5lbs...
would it be possible to use the metric system next time? (like 90% of the world uses)
nah, Freedom Units for the win.
Also TREX is a US based company and I don't think they can ship these products out of the US, so why would they?
Nobody cares about those countries
considering these are only sold in the usa, no.
@@borrago But their ratings and standards should be used to consider what options you can have when buying plates from other countries.
@@BrooklynNick718 right... you guys won THE war and all that as well, right... freedom and whatnot...

Firstn't!
Just to be perfectly transparent the failure threshold for the L210 and it’s variants is 556/223 meaning they are in-fact defeated by that caliber.
I don’t think in 2025 it’s alright to recommend them anymore.
Especially when dynema plates are half the price half the weight buoyant and you don’t have to buy new ones if you drop them on the floor. I think if you are going to buy an L210 you are way better off with alternatives to ceramic like steel, dynema, or even soft Kevlar. And I really hate steel plates but they are waaaaaaaaaay better lol. And tbh in 2025 they don’t spall like at all. Unless your wearing a OTB or mesh carrier then repeated hits in the same spot might cause spall but 2 shots in the same place on the l210 and it’s completely destroyed and no longer a plate. Not even cheap dynema temu plates do that.
I vaguely remember seeing a vid of l210s getting smoked by 20” barrel AR. Forget which channel though. What would you recommend?
