This worked for me, thank you! I was pretty stumped for a while. I filed and cleaned the shaft and hole after I got it out, that made putting it back in a lot easier.
Dude, all I did was spray a bit of Kroil around the shaft, grasp both sides of the inner tub firmly and shake it tightly and it pops right up. and I'm not a big guy. Probably use WD40 also.

I filed down the rough parts of the shaft, used some rusty bolt spray, and cleaned the shaft and hole real good, then it went back in pretty easy.
