I don't think so. You an hear some slight differences. They probably just swapped out some of the sounds in the instrument banks and recreated the sequences as best as they could.

Yeah. Music sequences are typically more efficient storage-wise and processing-wise. Would make more sense to do it that way.

@the TH-cam Friends Oh that's right. Similar to the time trial thing that was made for Mario 64 not too long ago. Where it would record your time and you could race a ghost Mario similarly to the time trials in Mario Kart

Most of it is. This is basically the GameCube maps (and Piantas) ported to Super Mario 64.
Except you can’t just ‘port’ maps from a GameCube game backwards into a N64 game. This is actually a re-creation of Sunshine from scratch.
This is absolutely amazing work. The way you got a lot of Sunshine's mechanics to function in a mod of it's predecessor is very commendable. I can't wait to play another one of your outstanding mods!
was the music all made ingame? i noticed a couple of slightly strange bits but for the most part its very impressive!
yes, pablo ported the songs. he used a midi ripped from sunshine and recreated the instruments in sm64.

I've played both 64 and Sunshine so seeing the combination of the 2 is really exciting!

this is unreal, the city looks almost ripped right out of SM Sunshine, it looks that good...
Well...that's because it was ripped from Sunshine
but wouldn't it need some reconstructing? I see some buildings have polygonal sides due to hardware limitation of the N64, where as sunshine doesn't.

Everything Kase does, is for Emulator, i'm fairly certain of that.
@Lucas i think the point you are missing is that an emulator "Emulates"
Emulated Games, Emulate the Original Hardware Engine, in essence, you're emulating original hardware specs onto a computer, so you can play that game on the computer, rather than original hardware, but regardless, an emulated game has to remain within the hardware limitations of the original hardware, if that makes sense.

Why the water quickly drains your health?
Probably because it's dirty water or something. It did the same thing in the original.
@@yaboikerbe9696 Haha except it didn't. the water in the beginning of the game (Airport) does NOT Kill nor Hurt you.
Placeholder method that represents oxygen being drained except the oxygen gauge hasn't been implemented yet so the health makes due for now.

Wow. Anything is possible with the Mario 64 engine now.
Not really. You can't go extremely high poly. Some people may say that you can use the SM64 Editor and use custom collision so then you can add more faces, but there is still a limit to the visual maps data. It would be cool to have high resolution textures and high poly objects like UE4. That day will probably never come, though...
Someone should pitch the idea to Nintendo to update it and release it as a development engine. Doesn't sunshine actually use a similar engine though? Both have some weird physics things that are exactly the same. For instance, if Mario dive recovers onto and inclined plane but the floor has the "climbable" property mario will run faster until he stops or leaves that surface in both games.

I didn't have to compress any of the instruments actually. I did have to conserve the amount of instrument/sample splits though.

I sometimes think about like making a little online mod for a game, you have donc a full game with super mario 64 online but imagine for example a mario sunshine where a player play shadow mario and the other play mario and need to "kill" him but with letting time to hide ect... Many mod like that but online and any person will be able if they want to have fun to play? Is this possible?

This is incredible wtf? Why not use this method of pre-controlling Mario as an NPC for enemies in other rom hacks? Like replace that Mario's model with someone else and make them the villain or an enemy in the game? You could make a rom hack with Wario and/or Waluigi as the antagonists :o

@@carlosprieto2231 I know but I think it is time to start a sequel. He made one of the best Super Mario games I have ever played so I really want a 2nd game. I think that if he started it now we might see it released in 2020 which is a great time (three years after the original).

Yeah it would be cool, but this kind of stuff takes thousands of hours of work and effort. Considering Kaze gets his revenue from these videos and from his patrons, it would be difficult for him to dedicate work on such a huge task. I want the man to do what HE wants to do, let him have fun with what hes doing :)

This is absolutely amazing. Sunshine and 64 are my favorite games.
Holy crap, this is really impressive so far! I'm glad that you aren't using SM64's instruments this time, and the music sounds pretty accurate, it's cool to hear the songs on the N64 hardware. It'd also be cool if you changed the HUD and dialogue boxes to how thry look in Sunshine, if that's possible. I'd also love it if Mario had his Sunshine voice clips, would make it feel even more like the original Sunshine.
