I have never played rust. I knew nothing about it. I was recommended a wiljum video ages ago that was him building solo and was interested in how it would can out. A 5 hour binge later and I love these videos. I love how he shows he can do well by himself against these massive clans who either roof camp like scumbags, foundation wipe everyone they come across, the clan of farmers and the guilds of massive base builds that honestly look fantastic. He ignores all that and makes small bases that are compact and shows you how they work. Informative and fun! Oh and for some reason he's addicted to bear rugs and absolutely will make his base cosy at the cost of his own life.
I'm similar. I used to play rust many years ago when it was nothing like it is today. Updates and meta have made the game I originally played un-recognisable compared to rust today. But, I enjoy watching other people play.

It wasn't his first death there. Just the first one he decided to highlight. Still, I have a feeling the other ones were most likely from toxic players, in less video worthy ways, or were perhaps even NPCs or something silly like that.
@@zekerdeathThe hell are you talking about? You can see it on his F1 console when he types in "kill" after falling down the exit a few times, There are literally entries in the logs showing "killed by . I saw at least 3 on the last fall where he specifically mentions never having been killed by a player yet, and in the next few minutes he runs into the duo at the pumpjack. So yes, I LITERALLY do have a way of knowing that he had died before he admitted to it.
I haven't played Rust since 2020 but watching people build and play with cave bases gives me a sense of joy. As someone who always played with cave bases, I could share a few tips for those wanting to do the same. (note: this only works on single and dual caves) 1. About three layers of honeycomb are good enough to seal the "main" entrance. Make sure to leave every foundation to just stone because there's really no point upgrading them to sheet metal or hqm. However, it can be logical to have an alternating pattern of stone and sheet metal triangle foundations. You can leave the outer layer to simply stone to make you look poor, but you can upgrade it to hqm as well and leave the rest of the honeycomb to just sheet metal. The key is to save as much resources as possible 2. There's no such thing as an unraidable base, so make it costly to raid by placing doors that lead to empty triangle rooms. Basically, turn the 1st floor into a maze. 3. It's clear that raiders won't go after the sealed entrance, so they'll go to the bucket entrance and disconnect in mid-air and reconnect to fall safely (I'm not sure if that still works though, but that's the only way raiders can get to your base thru the bucket entrance.) If this is the case, make sure to turn this turn entrance into a roof bunker and arm it with shotgun traps. It will be virtually unraidable if you could guard the bucket entrance yourself and shoot their sleeping bodies in mid-air. 4. Make a 2nd floor for your loot, sleeping bag, cupboard, and pretty much everything you need. I'd show you my layout but I vowed never to play this again. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. I hope this helps.

Place two turrets on half walls covering the bucket. People still get up after a fall, sometimes fall damage is negated by failing in specific places and people can just jump down with large med kits as well.
You can also negate fall damage by riding fire on the way down (via a molly etc), so a turret that you can't rocket from above is a very good safety. The best setup would be a turret behind a garage door that opens with a hb sensor so can't just spam it with nades from above.

YES! I saw the title and remembered the last time he made a base underground. That's when I found him that day and loved him from there on out so this is a full-circle nostalgia trip and feast for me! 😂
Cheers Willjium :)
This video felt as cozy as your base looks. Amazing music choices and I love the chill energy you give off. Made me smile at times in days where I don’t do that much anymore! Thank you
Thanks for making these videos so entertaining. I'm at a stage in my life I can no longer play Rust, with 2 young kids, wife and work ive run out of time to play. Videos like yours allow me to enjoy something I miss a lot.
Watching some Willy J while enjoying a cup of coffee is a whole different level of chill and entertainment
Yes it is, my current way is laying in bed eating ice cream and watching Willy j
I'm sniffing lines while watching willy j
I just got into rust as a solo, been watching your vids for a few weeks now which is what got me into the game. These vids have helped me sooo much and you truly are a master at what you do cause idk how tf you do everything you do so quick! Everyone is so mean to solos lolol
This man is the only reason that I can get up in the morning and makes me not think about the life’s struggles.
U the best Willy j.
you know its a good day when willjum posts a new cave base 15 minutes ago, cant beat the feeling
It's really good to see this types of video.
Suddenly I realized something, if I do the same thing, putting efforts into something then suddenly I wouldn't wake up the next day to continue my build. Someone will discover my spot untouched and take over the place.
I used to play the old beta version of rust back in 2014 and even tho I have never played this version of rust, your videos always fill me with beautiful nostalgic memories, Thank you from Ireland 🇨🇮
You know it’s gonna be a good day when willjum uploads
i like this version soooo much!!! it's relaxing and fun to watch. i'm the type that cant never watch the entire youtube without touching a fast-forward button. this is the first time i can watch the entire storyline without touching a single fast-forward button. please make more of this version. well done.
Oh yeass got to get my weekly Willjum fix! well done Willjum! Thank you for your weekly entertainment. Music is rockin and the vibe is sweet. Hats off to you!
Wiljum, your videos are always amazing, you are one of the only Rust youtubers i can watch with my kids. ❤ we love it man.
unexpectedly enjoyed this whole hour long...
I quit Rust long time ago but still checking gameplays that come off more as actual Adventure stories!
Well done.
You're levelling up your editing game man! Genuinely makes it more engaging. Glad you have more time now with uni over.
It’s a great day when willjum uploads
Something about willjums excited voice just makes you smile. It feels like actual genuine joy and Its wholesome as hell. I love your content man. Thank you for bringing me a smile on the worst days
Bro the bases he builds is the entire reason we have come together to support him this is godlike building right here
It's been a great week full of cave bases from TH-camrs that start with "W."
Who else has posted,I'd like to watch them aswell
@@dannyoldham3111 That'll be Welyn :)
@@dannyoldham3111 Welyn! Made a cave base and got a surprise.
Have you watched aloneintokyo's latest cave upload
I have never played Rust. I have never watched anyone play Rust for more than 5 minutes. I have never had any interest in Rust. But this was a great watch and the chill music choice made it a pretty chill watch instead of the frenetic constant anxiety you get from watching most pvp survival games. Well done.
wow Willjum i remember watching you when you had around 90k subs, and look at you now sitting on 1.12M subs and giving us such beautiful entertainment with every upload. keep up the great work man.... with every upload you find a way to make my day even better than it already is.
You always find a way to cheer me up on a bad day .keep up the good work.
there is just something about this video for me. Im fairly new to rust having about 10 hours on the game. Im at home sick today and threw on this video. But there were so many little things within this video along with today in general for that gives me a sense of nostalgia. I guess its just staying home from school while sick and watching youtube. Now this, is a video that deserves a sub and a like.
Yay new wiljum vid. So excited to watch. I bet it is as good as the rest. Keep up the good content man. ( pls do a wipe with Cali. Thx )
Every little victory is still a victory, and they add up. Always felt that way watching your vids.
Yours are the videos that soothe the soul. It's like all of my burnout and stress disappears for an hour and I get to help some guy build a cozy base with trying not to get his face eaten by a wolf.
Hey WJ! Using your bunker idea from the last video. A few days into wipe and still going strong. Such a cozy base design man, love your work!
Thank you so much for this video. I can’t express how happy I got, when you said that a part 2 was coming. Your vibes is immaculate, and your videos is always top-tier.
I know this is an older video but I had to post a comment... My bestie introduced me to you a month or so ago. I don't play rust always been afraid of the toxicity, but I love your videos. They are exciting, funny, and also calming. Lately when times are hard I find myself turning to your content in order to calm myself and I want to say thank you for providing the content as well as how you do it. The nice music, the calm voice, the wholesome moments make me smile! Also this is by far my favorite base you have built it's so cozy and homey yet strong and functional. Because you had more room to work with your design skills shone! Anyway, I want to again say thank you.
Willjum I love your vids and I’ve gotten so much better at rust thank you so much for vids and keep on posting god content
I see Willy try to add small spice to the video with those meme sounds and effects and I really appreciate how he's trying harder to provide more content for us in each video now he's done w school
Never played Rust, but you made it quite understandable to watch, and very entertaining. Your editing works well, and the cheer enthusiasm is chocolate to my mouth. Very enjoyable video, thanks for it
Thank you Willjum for all the best content. I hope knowing all of use love everything you make, makes you happy.
I love your videos keep up the good work❤
52:40 absolute banger of a track to match the video, absolutely need the sauce for that one, epic WJ video W as always, keep up the great narrative editing
This is the coolest most chill base design I've ever seen, didn't feel like it was even from Rust anymore.
It's crazy how far you've come, I've been watching since around 16k subs. Keep up the fantastic work!
35:20 the comedic timing of this is just absolutely awesome.
I absolutely love your energy in this video :D
Edit: also much enjoyed the different editing style
It's a Sunday morning and all I need is willyJ to make it a great day❤
I haven't played Rust in a few years but My kids and I spent so many hours in this game when it first came out. This brings back so many memories.
Love the work man keep it up
Hey man I just wanted to say thank you, I’ve been using your videos to relax a lot lately and with life being as stressful as it’s been lately being able to relax with a chill willjum video has been such a massive help, thanks for everything you do man
Same here Will J has the chill and makes me forget about hard times. In life.
Never played rust but watching you play is way more fulfilling! Keep up the great work!
Damn is that a new commentary/editing style? You seem more animated, snappy, it's fun! Always loved the videos though, this just grabbed me by the scruff and dragged my attention to it haha, the usual chill from you is still needed ❤ Have a good Weekend WillyJ
Yeah samedi style off édition than martincitopants live it
Can confirm I've watched the whole video. Top Tier Willjum content.
You sure about that😂
Mathematically impossible boss ... Unless ... Holy hell you've invented time travel! Genius
(☉ ͜ʖ☉) Unless your Determined enough I don't think so pal
@@ashleyhazell662 shhhh no one can know yet. The aliens being legitimized is the first step.
The Minecraft music brought back nostalgia. I've been here since the beginning, and I have not missed a video. If you read this, I just wanted to let you know you are important to us. Love you, man
Willy j is the hole reason why I play rust his content is so enjoyable it’s amazing to watch
lol damn. He was 9 when I started playing rust. it hurts
Honestly first dessert base in a while and a cave base I knew this was good
I also was having a good day and now it just made it better thanks willyJ
I think that's the first gaming channel I've seen whose owner consistently uploads only ever videos of one game consistently and been successful with it. I just lokked over all the videos and I haven't seen anything else except Rust. That's impressive
New content, amazing edit, incredible journey, wish you best willy ❤
I know you have the music artists listed in the info, but think you could go one step further and add the song names too? Or maybe you can create a playlist with all the music you use for your videos. Would be a great chill playlist for my drives home or just cruising around. Keep up the great work! I use to love playing this game but now don’t have much time with my daughter so I watch you on my lunch’s.
“In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.”

Hey willjum idk if you'll see this but I wanna say thank u for uploading amazing content your content has helped me get through some rough times so keep it up man your doing so bloody good❤❤
Frrr❤
I don't even play Rust, I just love Willjum videos.
Same 🗿
hes the reason i got the game!
the vids make me want to play, then I play for an hour and remember I suck, but never stop watching his vids.
@@timq6224 Willy made me think I wanted the game, but then I tried to watch other content creators and saw how sweaty and fucked up the game really is. Rust just isn't for me, but watching certain videos is.
I love the new editing, the jokes and the way its put together is a perfect mix of the classic cozy willjum and some more chaotic energy. It makes me think of martincitopants.
12 minutes in still no furnace, certified willjum classic
i have watched this video 10000 times and can confirm that this is indeed a spoonkid classic
This might be the most wholesome interior decorating video I've ever seen. I'm here for it homie. This base fucking rocked.
11 seconds in and this is a certified willjum classic
Fr fr
1 second in and this is a certified copy paste classic
Amazing video as always! ❤ As far as the editing style changes it’s certainly not bad but it feels like a slight departure from the original vibe that I’ve come to love so much on this channel. Take that with a grain of salt as I am a creature of habit and despise all change 😅 keep up the good work!!!!
I've never seen your videos or even played Rust, but the algorithm was like "hey check this out", and I have to say, the algorithm was on point. The editing and use of music was so good.
It has taken me way too many videos to realize, but there's never actually a 2nd half to most of these videos, are there?
Are we getting a part 2?👀
The out post guy going
"OH MY GOD WILLJUM"
Is so amazing
I don't often watch Rust, but at 17:46 the sound of gunshots changed everything.
