I hope we are a net gain to Tennessee. We moved 3 generations (just 6 of us, don't worry) out of California 3 years ago. We quickly made friends and opened a business that flourished quickly. I used to watch Hickok from CA and wish I could shoot that freely and enjoy my firearms. He was a reason we chose Tennessee. They'll bury me here. I'm never leaving.
@@hickok45 . Southern Middle! Coffee County, Sir. My wife and I own a sandwich shop. We brought my dad's concept of a 46 year old business and started all over here.
I open carried a .44 mag from 1990-1995 while stationed in Alaska every time I left base! I do still have it but I seldom carry it! I do often carry a small Ruger the hammerless .38 spc that my wife realy enjoys shooting and carrying it as well! Thanks 👍
I am happy to see Colt is investing in revolvers. My first was a Colt Trooper III wish I still had it. Your revolver is just amazing loved the bear paw touch.
What you said about not waiting for the next big thing hits hard.......I'll be 42 in Jan and I wish I would have spent more time in the moment. I thank God I have recently taken time to enjoy my friends and loved ones and my loyal pittbully. For the last 10 years or so I have just tried to take it in. If I can be a good son, good friend, and good asset to my community as well as a decent enough role model for the young ones- I feel like I'm winning. Life is GOOD.
Great video Hickok! This video reminded me of the Book, MONARCH OF DEADMAN BAY, which I have. If you like to read this is a great book, along with other books by the same author.
Good fine Sunday morning Brother Greg and John,,, Awesome show as always...Fondling my Sig P 226,,9 mm today..My duty carry..that's mine.. Love from SW Ohio,,Germantown,,Brother Neil
Just got my Alabama holster for a S&W bodyguard that I have had for a while and I got to say I love it so far. Thanks for being a believer in them and for the indirect recommendations...
I enjoy watching, I think because of the authenticity as much as the knowledge. After Hickok probably a million rounds, he still chuckles at impact of shots.
I have a Smith and Wesson model 19-4 .357 Magnum that I carried and qualified with 35 years ago, love it and will never get rid of it! Carried .38 rounds at work and loaded it with .357 rounds for EDC/home defense. One can get pretty fast with speed loaders with practice. "KEEP ON KEEPIN ON"
The Colt Kodiak is a great revolver in 44 magnum and with that long cylinder it can handle the long loaded 330 grain Garrett Cartridges of Texas Hammer Head load and the Buffalo Bore +P+ 340 grain flat point gas check clad bullet.
Thanks, Hickhok. Nice revoler. From the interweb place... The Kodiak bear (Ursus arctos middendorffi), also known as the Kodiak brown bear, sometimes the Alaskan brown bear, inhabits the islands of the Kodiak Archipelago in southwest Alaska
Your comments about enjoying the present are so wise. I wish there were some sort of searchable index to your comments, as just today I wanted to show one of your videos to a young person so she could hear what you had to say.
The Anaconda....Bought a new one last year and had to send it back due to deep scratches in the bore affecting its accuracy. Then after a while and less than 100 rounds of mostly mid level 44 Mag loads it started with one light strike and progressed to 5 in one cylinder load plus cylinder end shake had grown to .007 which it did not have when new. Sent it back again and they replaced an end link and tightened up the end shake. You cannot do this fix at home like with other revolvers. Sold it! My Rugers Smiths and Uberti revolvers keep on going!
Whenever I stay in Nashville, EVERY service person I meet, whether it's a taxi driver, waiter, bartender, store clerk or hotel maid, will tell me "I'm a singer/songwriter. I'm just doing this to pay the bills for now."
So happy to see you reviewing the kodiak.I am looking at making that revolver my first Colt. I would really like to see it offered in blue, maybe the 2025 version will be. I may make the kodiak my carry gun with 44 special rounds.
If you have an older model J frame with those minimalist wood grips, example would be the old chief's special, don't over tighten the screw. If the little treaded block gets compromised, you will tie the action up tighter than a bull's butt at fly season. Good vid
Back in 1988 I heard a quote that had a profound impact on me. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." I joined the US Coast Guard the next day. That quote is often attributed to Mark Twain, who is not the source. I have actually never found the source, but it is not important. The words stand alone, regardless of who speaks them.👍 My decision to join the Coast Guard is one of only two decisions I have ever made that I can say with 100% certainty, was a good decision.👊 Getting a vasectomy was the other one.🤷♂ The part about enjoying where you are triggered that.👍
Was actually looking at one of those yesterday. The guy behind the counter really wanted to sell it to me. The 2200.00 price tag told me he wasn't THAT serious about it!
I was hesitant to purchase the S&W 642 because of it being only a 5-shot and not being a +P. The Kimber K6xs fixes both of those issues. That’s why I bought it. Also, for the people who don’t get the mindset about carrying a revolver, I live in Polk County Florida where carrying whatever I want would be fine. The problem is that I’m looking to travel around the country. Even though in most states, not all, I can carry, but if something happens, the DA where it happens might not support the 2A so much. 38 special revolver is a pretty good weapon to carry, image wise.
Awesome videos I watch all of your channels I live in Pennsylvania and I am retired one of my favorite gun is a Colt 357 trooper 3 I got in 1982 the gun was made in 1976 I am going to retired it gets a new one for deer hunting
Right when I saw this, I googled the sw629 4" barrel and YEP that's gonna be my first gun purchase. It was the first pistol I ever shot, albeit the 6" version, and this was when I was 17. Little did I know I used all 100 rounds of my Dad's home defense rounds @ $6 a piece on a target. Oops, DADDY WASN'T THERE, well he was but he definitely didn't tell me which ammo to use
Morning sir. Yea I will miss old Paul for sure, he was a heck of a man. As for ported barrel , well Iam old school, really have no need especially 357, it loud enough without ported end. Example I shot completion locally with a plane old SW revolver and had no issue staying on point, just a practice scenario. Thanks and you take care!
Hickok45 mentioned crimp jump. Recently, I was shooting my Rhino 200DS. I had three Armscor 158 grain fmj's jump crimp. I've shot a wide variety of ammo (including a fair amount of Armscor) through numerous revolvers. This is the first time I've ever had that problem. Thankfully, i was on the range and not dealing with a bear. 😅
So true about revolver issues being worse. Ruger has had my GP100 for going on 2 months now, because every 2 or 3 shots the action locks up. If it’s that bad hopefully they offer a replacement firearm, seen that a few times on forums.

I read about the revolver problems a few people have and i have to wonder what the deal is. In 60 years of revolver experience, I have never seen a revolver failure not created by its owner. Our own or friends and fellow shooters. Ive seen one cracked cylinder from a suspect manufacturer 50 years ago, but that is all. I dont know if that was owner caused or not. The only one i have had personally was reloaded ammo where a primer didnt get fully seated. Thats it! Now days ive heard of some problems that sounds like quality control and design are slipping. I hope not. Great video. God bless all here.

Super cool targets.
I like the port holes in the barrel, much like the Taurus Tracker.
I had the Tracker for a while. Decent pistol. I swapped out the ribber grips for the Hogue monogrip but still stung the hand with hot loads.
@@gierhedd75 I might have to do the same in terms of grips.
Pre-2020, I bought several boxes of .357 magnum, 100 count, at $52. Today the same box cost
$220.
