Most westerners go here seeking another sort of cherry. This is much more wholesome and not creepy. Although the shot of you smiling blankly into the camera during the minor piano notes was pretty scary! Dark implications aside, this catalogue of actual unique fruits is very cool
I didn't expect you to came to my home country! Hope you have fun here! ❤ This video reminds me of my first time in Germany visiting my aunt when i was young, had to try them European fruits 😋
I just found your channel and completely amazed. As the Thai locals myself, I truly appreciate and respect your passion. Fruit for people here is like a seasonal treat and specific province has there own fruit reputation! Your hunting is very nostalgic Hope u discover more in the future
Wow I'd love to go on this tour! It would be great to see as many of their reactions and descriptions of each fruit as possible. You know they're fruit enthusiasts when everyone seems that happy about the durian :)
@@sazji: That fits Death Metal better. Plus, you can make near-constant _Fist of the North Star_ reference jokes. Also, I've had noni juice. It tastes exactly like how rancid, fermented garbage water smells, and it burned my throat on the way down like an acid reflux.
I haven't been on youtube too much in that last while, but its nice to see the vid about our trip finally out! I was on the second thai trip, it was so much fun and i still use my little water bottle bag pretty often!
The larvae arent good if you don't like fish but crickets are really tasty. They taste like corn chips. Very good deep fried with a batter and dipped in a lime and pepper sauce.
I went to that temple in Ayutthaya last year and specifically remember seeing the bulletwood trees there. Seeing you try it makes me think that I shouldn't have been so hesitant on picking one
Love the videos with more people - it would be really cool to find a team of like 3 people and go on fruit expeditions with them. Having a second opinion on the taste profile of fruits is also very useful (also because you don't drink or eat meat and some plants and fruits do taste similar).
Great! just in time for my trip to Thailand next week! I don't suppose you'll be there giving a tour on either February 25th-26th or March 14th to 16th? Because that would be awesome!
I'm so stoked for more of these episodes to come out! Really crazy finds in Thailand. I'm reliving some great memories and looking forward to future adventures!
Can't find durian where I live, but we do have mung bean and durian cakes that are imported from Vietnam. I always wanted to try durian, just to experience it, so I bought a package of those cakes, called Banh Pia Hopia Cakes. I was pretty sure I'd handle it just fine since I took to Vegemite immediately, love kimchee, and other foods not popular in America. I opened a pack and got my first whiff of durian. Holy cow, it was just as described in the product reviews, like a combo of a major natural gas leak mixed with rotten garbage, burned and rotten eggs, and nasty gym socks. Smelled like sasquatch, lol. I took a bite and found that it tastes WAY better than it smells. There was somewhat of an onion flavor to it, but otherwise it was sweet, creamy, and dessert-like. I made it through my first cake. Each successive cake was less offensive, and over the days I grew to associate that smell with the delicious taste. The smell got much better as a result. I haven't ordered another 12-pack of hopia cakes yet (ordered durian candy instead) but I will in the future. I wouldn't have tried it if I hadn't watched your expert videos on durian.
How do you spell a gagging noise? Fruit, excellent! Crysollis(sic)? Not so much. And I am hungry! I can’t tell you how much I would like to take a tour with you and other viewers!
O but that tease towards the end though...I'm dying to know what ALL of those were lol. Especially the one cut open lastly. With the weird circular pattern.
What fun! When was this? I will look forward to seeing the next excerpts from it, and hopefully I get to see people try the Noni. :-) I saw it growing in Vietnam, but it was also still green. :-(
Ha! I knew there was a worm in the guava as soon as you cut it. How did you not see it? I guess it comes from having eaten many wormy fruit in my time. Plus, the worm didn't get in from the ground. It hatched from an egg that was laid in the fruit when it was growing on the tree.
I ate some durian fruit before it was good it smells bad but it's still good but they are very expensive in the store I did have like white coconut before I wish I can get some but I don't have no money for it
Not too many different ones than what I found in Cambodia. I wonder if you ever found a durian that has longer and curved spikes on it. I found it once in a market in Kampong Chnang and it didn't have a bad smell at all. Was very good.
This one just has some old favorites. Future Thailand episodes have some rarer fruit. Not sure how it compares to Cambodia though, that's still on my list of places to visit
@@WeirdExplorer It is much harder to find the rarer fruits in central Cambodia now. 20 years ago people would be able to go into the jungle and nearby mountains to get them but most of the jungles there have been clear cut and now only monoculture farms remain. Some of the mountains have even been razed by foreign countries. Probably best to stick to the wilder parts of Cambodia if you do go.
My backlog has gotten out of hand 😅. At the rate I'm going, I have enough content already filmed to last the next three years. When I get back to posting two episodes a week, things should move along a bit.
@WeirdExplorer June might be too early for Akebia, as it ripens around September to October at least here in Korea. Prunus mume should be available at markets and ornamental cherry cultivars also ripen from May to June.

Bulletwood flowers (Bakul) keep their lovely fragrance even when dried. They are commonly made into garlands.
Our guide in Belize tricked us in to trying an overripe Noni fruit on our honeymoon. He ate it with a straight face so we trusted him 😂

This trip was SO AMAZING! Thanks, Jared!!
how much was it?

I loved the tours turned out well Jared. Your content is very entertaining.

Oh man, I wanna go on one of these tours!
That looks like so much fun!!!
Wish I could afford to do this. It would be so cool to try these new fruits!
Very interesting! Thankyou for sharing - I LOVE coconut so would love to try the coconut apple, sounds delicious 😋

You should have a fruit-based tv show
Những loại trái cây thật ngon và hấp dẫn

I get what he meant, it just sounded funnt.
Jared! Congratulations on finding your new career !!! It’s perfect!
Psyched to see the longer-form episodes! I'm glad y'all had fun :)
Alone man is genious
*furiously taking notes for my trip*
I hope u come to cambodia I think u will find lots of wild fruit here
I want to go on this tour!

It’s interesting the bugs tasted fishy. People that are allergic to shellfish are also allergic to Roaches. So there’s some sort of connection there!
What an amazing experience
Because of you, ate my first noni last week. I harvested it myself, with the locals agreement. They were laughing. 😅

So wish I could go.

thailand is so safe i wanna go soon
Trying noni is true bravery
Wheres the macapuno video?
Yep. That’s why my mom told me never to eat fruit off the ground
I'm from Thailand, and we don't eat durian with rice. That's kind of new for me.
I liked the nostril shot of you in the corner of the group portrait 😂
Ooo you guys are just like me
Amazing video, it's good to see others getting involved keep up the great work!

when you have a trip to Borneo, please find Durian Kura-Kura, a durian that grows on the root!! very interesting
I'll be going on my own soon for a brief trip. I'll see what the markets have :)
They eat durian with rice?
