It’s insane how Yonghoon’s voice can make any song sound absolutely heartwrenching. His voice elevates this band of already very talented musicians into another league entirely.

@@tta2982 definitely!! but an outstanding band with an exceptional vocalist that is able to bring out the emotion of the song that other instruments convey makes PERFECTION.
I recommend From_ , and Universe_ for more of the harmonizing you enjoyed
I also think you'd really like Veronica, it's one of their brightest songs to date (along the lines of Pleasant but even more so) 😁
our feelings about slower/softer songs and which onewe songs are an exception are so similar and it makes me giggle lol. I was talking to my sister about how I don't understand how I like so many slower ONEWE songs (Cosmos in particular), and she pointed out that Cosmos (and the others I like, I think) has more _weight_ to its sound. not sure if that would make sense to anyone else, but it felt right to me lol
YAY, so happy to see this reaction! ONEWE make fantastic music, and I agree that the three vocalists (including Giuk, who is *technically* listed as a rapper but definitely sings as well) all have gorgeous yet unique voices. Giuk's voice (to me) has a clean and refreshing feeling, but also with a bit of grit at times, Yonghoon tends to be more airy/breathy and shadowy? and then have powerful belting as well, and Dongmyeong's (the menace) feels velvety and warm. Regarding whether Dongmyeong's brother sounds like him, they have a somewhat similar tone of voice but his brother has a notably lower voice and even beyond that I'd say that only very rarely do they sound similar enough that you'd get them confused.
It's funny, I also tend to be less into slow songs, and yet for me it's Kiss in the Rain that is more my style (it feels more jazzy and less ballady to me) while Count the Stars is less my style (a bit simpler and feels more ballady to me?). ONEWE is responsible for getting me to enjoy/appreciate slow songs in a way I rarely did before, though! Some of my favorite ONEWE songs are slow ones (Universe_, Cosmos, Parting).
You asked if ONEWE have MVs for their bsides; the answer seems to be that sometimes there will be one bside that gets an MV, and another bside that gets an acoustic version with MV. Hopefully we'll see soon if this album will get a bside MV!
This group DOES sometimes do MVs for b-sides. see AuRoRa, Veronica, Ring on my ear, 0&4 and Montage_ for references...

first of all, yeah their voices are indeed very distinct and it's really easy to tell them apart
also this album has every member make their own song:
shoot it out - kanghyun (guitarist)
meteor shower - giuk (bassist, rapper)
count the stars - yonghoon (main vocals, leader, sometimes guitar)
kiss in the rain - dongmyeong (keys, vocals)
pleasant - harin (drummer)
and beautiful ashes is a song mainly made by their producer but yonghoon and giuk also participated in writing and composing and harin and kanghyun fid the arrangement
also when i say it's 'this member's' song it doesn't mean that he did all by himself but other members most likely helped, like giuk always writes his parts, kanghyun makes his solos etc, like with beautiful ashes for example, it just means that the og version like a draft was made by 'this member'
my fav bsides at first were 1kiss in the rain and 2shoot it out, now tho it's 1count the stars and 2shoot it out (i dont rank title tracks cuz it's a different category almost, like a title track u know)
i love all other bsides too tho!
okay and lastly, the slow songs that u liked are regulus, count the stars and beautiful ashes (I'd consider it a slow one too), and they all are rock ballads (yes ballads) I'd say
and kiss in the rain is more jazzy
so mb u don't like jazzy slow songs and classic ballads (like kdrama ost type) 🤔
onewe tho excel in rock ballads they really are masters

Oh also Beautiful Ashes has a video for an acoustic version. Onewe does that with a lot of their songs so if you wanna hear more of their like live vocals I recommend the acoustic versions of the songs that have them
I loved both of your ONEWE reactions!!! So relatable and I love all the things you point out and appreciate about them! I guess I love watching people react to ONEWE in particular because it’s sooo relatable! I love to see others appreciate everything about them as much as I do, voicing the same thoughts and feelings I’ve had, but also adding other perspectives or noticing things I hadn’t. They deserve all the praise and more!!!
I am similar in that ballad-type songs weren’t really my thing, but it’s VERY different with ONEWE! Some of my absolute favorites are A book in Memory and Universe _ (my soul song), which I didn’t expect. I love their rock and everything else so much too! I will say one thing about Kiss In The Rain: It’s more in Dongmyeong’s style and preference than the usual ONEWE style. He has grown a lot musically (they all have) and I love that he got his own freedom of expression in their music. I really enjoy his song Trigger_ from PN : Alter Ego. I think he has the most noticeable “alter ego” than the others regarding his off-screen personality and his on-stage/screen presence! Sunshine to Menace! 🤣
I really love them all and they ALL bring something wonderful to the group, and are SO FREAKING talented at what they do individually, that together they’re quite a powerhouse band! ❤️🔥

Yes more Onewe! They never miss their whole discography is flawless! I cried so much watching the mv for Beautiful Ashes mostly cuz of Yonghoon he is my bias and one of my ult biases and im so happy he is finally back from his military service cuz I missed him so damn much and hearing his voice again and the emotions he makes you feel had me bawling my eyes out. I loved the whole album not a single skip but the 2 stand out songs for me were of course Beautiful Ashes and Count The Stars.
I'm in love with this album and honestly everything I've heard by them so far, I'm playing so many of their songs on repeat at the moment! The vocals in this group are STUNNING, I'm lowkey obsessed 😭

you seems to really like giuk (bassist/rapper) so I'd recommend checking the mvs from his solo albums he released last year, Time Machine and Scratch! also, if you ever think about reacting to more onewe (or giuk!) I heavely recommed watching video of them performing live, onewe really shine the brightest when they're on stage and their songs sounds even better (my favorites to see live are: Montage_ ; Veronica ; Trauma / Love Virus and Rarity for Giuk' solos). also, they mostly keep the same position on stage so that'll be helpful with identifying who is who hehe
Dongmyeong, who's voice you also seems to really enjoy, played in a few musicals last year so I'm throwing a rec. to check fancam of him singing Under Pressure, his voice is just gorgeous in it!
they're having a concert this weekend (05.04/05) so fancams of all their new songs are going to be up soon~! (you talk about them coming to the UK at the end, nothing is sure yet, but they're definitlly coming to europe later this year!)
cute fact: Pleasant was written by harin (the drummer) about kanghyun (the guitarist) because he missed him when he was away at military. Also you would be surprised at how many weves (onewe's fandom name) talk about the similarities between han and giuk!

Xion has a deeper tone than Dongmyeong. The way they sing are also very different. Check out oneus and onewe's collaboration song Stay to hear it, especially the live clip.
I love your reactions and I really recommend you to watch their covers on hip, latata, dolphin, twit! They are sooooo nice. There are also three old really good songs 'Ring on my ears' and '0&4'(this one is funny), also 'Parting'(this is slow, but I became weve with it, so it's special).
I'd say Kiss In The Rain has a lot less things going on (both instrumentally and vocally) than the other slower songs so maybe that's it
Sooo I don't think you dislike ballads in general. What I think you do dislike is a more mellow/chill approach to ballads, because that can be kinda boring (although I personally find it quite soothing sometimes, depending on the song).
You might just be more into the emotionally high strung kinds of power ballads.
As far as recommendations go: HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend Montage and Veronica, as well as Parting.
