Rakaposhi is in the Karakoram mountain range in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan, about 100 kilometers north of Gilgit.
The highest peak in the Ladakh Range is Saser Kangri, with a summit of 7,670 meters. The Ladakh Range is part of the Trans-Himalayas and is located between the Karakoram and Zanskar Ranges
