Agree with the previous comments.....the sheer size didn't help, but also the other elephant in the room (excuse the pun😏) is the subject matter, religious subjects are difficult. Personaly i think £4k was tops.
What's the difference, besides about 20 million pounds? The reason it went so low - who has room in their house for a 7 foot-tall painting? My ceilings are only about 7'6". That needs rooms twice as tall and twice as big, unless you're content with it taking over the entire room. In the old days those hung in great houses and religious buildings, and I don't see many churches these days buying repro Rafaels.
Fabulous reproduction David, I thought it may have sold for a bit more.
A beautiful painting. Still, thought it would make a lot more! Thanks David for showing this...
Wow! Cannot believe that didn't bring more but any given day anything can happen. Love your segments, David!
Thank you
What a bargain!..❤️👍
Dear Becky and David, What a nice painting! Thank you for showing it to us and including the auction results
Stunning if a tad big for my flat. Still, I appreciate it for what it is. Spot on on the guide price
The buyer, in my view, got a bargain. Great quality but I guess its size went against it.
That's a lot of painting for four grand. I can see that in a top gallery for double that - someone grabbed themselves a bargain.

A bargain indeed
