    Really seems like Tackett and Belmonte are all about maximizing their entry angle right now. Both use somewhat slower speed now and make the ball really turn left at the pins. Leads to interesting pin action, like Tackett's "solid" 10 at 2:54.

    • @ajpeanutx
      @ajpeanutx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it is hard to create the best entry angle of 6 degrees. It takes alot of side roll, high revs and accuracy. they have those qualities in there game and that's why they bowl for the money most often

    • @ajpeanutx
      @ajpeanutx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      6 degrees of Entry angle has a USBC tested strike percentage of 85%% with a 12.5% chance of leaving a single pin spare. Those are good odds. these two are cashing in on those good odds.

    Is the ball curving part of the competition?

    • @chugalingus4642
      @chugalingus4642 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is. You can throw the ball in thousands of different ways to create what we call "shape" on the lane. Or, what most people call curve. You rotate the ball by having your thumb come out before your fingers, and slightly lifting on the ball to put "revolutions" on the bowling ball.
      The puritans of the sport will tell you a million ways on how its done and suppose to be done, but at the end of the day, your style is your style.

    • @Brickbuilder128
      @Brickbuilder128 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Curving the ball increases the chance of a strike because it curves in the right angle and spot you need for the best chance for a strike.

  • @cowboycolts

    I don't know what it is but the way these pins behaved, seemed a little odd with a couple of moments there

    • @anthonyb5222
      @anthonyb5222 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      When your rev rate is that high, the ball hits with less deflection. The weird shots you see are when the ball hits with none at all. It occurs when you are rev dominant, or when you increase your side roll to increase your entry angle. Look up Robert Smith. You’ll see what I mean.

      It's to test a different strike line for the next game. If he gets a good pocket shot in the last frame. It would lead him in getting way more pins in the second game to cover for that one pin

  • @RandomJoole
    @RandomJoole 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I dont know anything so can someone tell me why are they throwing all the second shots with curve. For example in 0:23 wouldnt there be a better chance for spare if you approached with straight line in stead of curve from the right? At least there would be wider area that downs all the pins and also there would be no chance of early or late curve ruining the shot.

    • @jakeb_91
      @jakeb_91 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      RandomJoole he wasn’t trying to throw curve, he uses a plastic ball and throws hard so it only goes straight. He said hook a little bit cause he goofed and just wasn’t accurate, so he was basically begging for mercy. I do agree I stand to the left for that spare but it’s not necessarily the only correct way to pick it up.

      He didn’t, he was struggling with hitting the 7 pin head on so he tried to hook it and ended up putting too much speed on it

    what i dont get: even when they make a spare with 1 or 2 remaining pins, why do they spin the ball? why take the risk of this complex move? a straight shot would be way less risky and would do the job.

    • @arridiancooper3752
      @arridiancooper3752 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because it’s what they always do and it’s not risky if you do it all the time

    • @Brickbuilder128
      @Brickbuilder128 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's easier to hook a ball then to throw it straight also because of the oil, generally putting light curve on a ball keeps it straight. Also, hooking the ball increases the chances of hitting the "pocket" which is in between the 2 front pins. It's hard/impossible to hit it with a straight shot.
