In 1975, my cousin was killed by a Drunk Driver, 10 months later I was hit, and almost killed, 20 surgeries just to live so far and they say possible more, 2 years later my brother was almost killed by a Drunk Driver, a year after that, my folks were pulling into thier driveway and they got hit by a Drunk Driver, I'm the only 1in my family that is going to pay with my life! Where's the Justice?

I'm a former police officer in a few small towns in Nebraska and I wasn't shy about my being out to get drunk drivers. I was under pressure to find employment elsewhere because the bar owners didn't like me arresting their patrons. After seeing this video I'm proud of every drunk driver arrest I've made.

Mee too. We have a serial drunk driver as neighbor. I have called cops several times, I have been in court as witness, but he gets just a slap on his wrist. He has injured people, but no jail time.
And less than a year ago my niece lost the love of her life because of a drunk driver. Yes he got in to the car with his friend, both drunk. But the friend had the nerve to blame his dead friend of being the driver. The investigation later showed he wasn't the driver. Did the lying friend get jail time, no.
I hate drunk drivers so much. They can kill people with nearly no consequence. It's insane.
I'm powerless to the serial drunk driving neighbor. He is a ticking time bomb. God help him if he kills someone in my family.

Facial expressions and voices from hell. I remember these expressions and voices, from when I was doing internship for my EMT-1 certification, in an emergency room, and while I was an EMT for 2 and a half years until I blew my back out, and then for a little over a year when I worked in a funeral home.
Please. I can't stress this enough. If you've been drinking, or doing drugs, or even if you've taken prescription drugs, or haven't had enough sleep to function properly...don't drive.
Because we who've worked these jobs can never forget the faces of the deceased, or the expressions and voices from hell, from those who lost them because of the abject stupidity and thoughtlessness of impaired drivers.

May God stand beside them every day for the rest of their lives guiding them. I truly don't believe I could've been this strong in the face of such tragic events let alone being a voice against it. Yeah, MADD would love to get a piece of the revenue from universal interlocks. I'm sure they're working on it. Of course, the interlocks would require "calibration" every month, so there's an endless stream of recurring revenue. Maybe MADD would then stop charging $100 "participation fee" for attending a Victim Impact Panel. Instead, why not also require everyone attend a Victim Impact Panel and pay $100. Make it $200! And make it an annual requirement! But remember, MADD is a non-profit, so they get tax-advantaged status! MADD will constantly think of more ways to expand their revenue stream, always at the cost of your money, rights, and freedom, whether you're actually a danger or not.

When I was a teenager and in my early 20s i regularly drove impaired. Back then, the "one for the road" and "keep 'er between the fence rows" mentality prevailed. I don't recall ever thinking I might kill innocent people. I consider myself to be an unindicted attempted murderer many times over. Even better we should continuously show them these videos so that way they will realize first hand what the horrible consequences of drinking and driving really are which can then prevent any further DUI incidents from happening again. In addition parents and relatives should constantly tell their children, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren that they should never drink and drive nor drive with someone who is drunk and should constantly stress to them about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or riding with someone who is drunk.

Any amount of alcohol impairs reactions,if you drive a car, ride a motorbike, pedal a bicycle,or use any other form of transportation, dont drink.I drive, and twice last year I made 2 driving mistakes, the first one was from feeling stressed about my son,who had a really nasty accident,so my mind was not completely on the job of driving as a result.I turned right out of a "T " junction, then suddenly a car coming from my right almost went into the car that I was driving, but my really quick reactions stopped an accident which would have been my fault,I looked to my left and there was another car coming from my left, but there was enough time for me to pull out quick enough,to avoid a collision, the mistake rectified in seconds, had I been drinking my reactions would have been too slow, and the car coming from my right would have crashed into my car.The second mistake was with a cyclist it was raining, and I looked to my right then my left, then I turned left out of the "T" junction, and I almost went into the cyclist, but again my sharp reactions saved another accident, mistake rectified again in seconds.I dont drink, but had I been drinking these two incidents would have been a very different story.

We are up in arms about gun related deaths in our country. Which is horrific in itself. But nobody talks about the ones we lose from selfish drunks. It is so unfair. Bless all these families.

On behalf of the good and decent people who would never drink and drive, who don’t feel the need to stare at your phones while driving……. I’m so desperately sorry to each and every person who has suffered through this hell. They need to show this in schools and have drivers education as part of the high school curriculum. Here in Australia we don’t have any of that. Take people who are drunks keys if you can and hide them. They can be as angry as they want but it’s better than the alternative for more than just them. I threw a mates keys on our roof once without his knowledge. He searched my house for 2 hours before he finally passed out. He lives 2.5 hours drive from where we were. He 100% would have caused carnage.

My sister was killed by a drunk driver in 1981. As someone said words cannot describe the pain of such a senseless, violent death. Guy who killed her got some jail time but the only true justice is the laws of nature. He died of leukemia year later. My brother’s brother in law killed 4 people driving drunk 2 years after that. All in the same family. He got 9 months in jail. My parents joined MADD and went to meetings of the legislature and congress to get better sentencing and stiffer penalties and not a damn thing has changed.

    1. you can take a limo to a lot of your destinations for the money dui costs, 2. its your health and 3. most important you might change/end not only your life but innocent people around you.

So sad and all could have been prevented. It's not just drinking now, it's drugs or distracted driving. It will never stop.

He did. He and his wife had twins who died at several months old, and three stillbirths.
