I am a grandma with a 4 year old granddaughter and a 2 year old grandson. Both of which are extremely strong willed. I stay home with them while mommy and daddy work and i cant tell you how many times i have felt as though i have failed. 😥😢😭 Thank you so much!!!

I was a strong-willed child, so was my daughter, and now my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. I recognize all of these stories. The scary part is that I think this 3rd generation one is going to top all of us. One bit of advice that I would give the parents of these kids, is to not beat yourself up and think you're a failure. Choose your battles, because some things aren't worth it. Be prepared for puberty, it will kill ya!
    Thank you, Dr. Dobson.

Thank you for this! People need to know what parents go through when raising a strong willed kiddo. I am so thankful for Jesus and the Holy Spirit for filling in during battles and the seasons of isolation. Not many friends stay close to mommas going through this. This message is much needed!

As a Grandfather, I’m here for the same reason and story. I agree with you. The 3rd generation is going to be the worst. Praying to the Lord.

We have a child like this and I blame myself that I’m not doing something wrong

Every time I hear about strong willed children in the context of a James Dobson talk it is something evil. Being able to say “no” and being allowed to say “no” is necessary

Oh no, nothing evil about it. A parents role is to teach. And this is for their safety and the child's future. To think otherwise is the downfall of a family.
