For me, this track personifies a BabyMetal song. The mix of metal, pop, rock and variants of all three, plus the audience chants and participation. You didn't mention that. BabyMetal have become so internationally successful because many songs have audience participation and obviously the quality of the song writing, singing from Su, the perfect synchronised dancing from Moa, Yui and later on Momoko, and musicianship from the Kami Band.
> "I'm addicted to it [Suzuka's voice] ..." She's a siren! Like in greek mythology... Regarding to the meaning if the lyrics: I think they are adressing the ongoing theme of egalitarianism in the Japanese society. There's a Japanese proverb, which describes it best: The nail that stands out will be knocked in.
Su is actually 18-19 here, Moa and Yui are 17. This a compilation I think so the video of the intro doesn't match the sound completely. I think the vocal performances are all from the Fox Festival shows from 2017. The Kami Band always plays with Babymetal for live shows. There is an East kami band (all Japanese musicians) that has played with Babymetal since 2014 but last played with them in 2023. There is also a West Kami band (all US/Canadian musicians) that has played with Babymetal since 2019 and is now their primary touring band. The East Kamis don't really seem to like to tour outside of Japan any more. Both bands are made up of fantastic musicians.
Kami means god, and in babymetal lore, they are metal spirits or ancestors that the fox god bestowed upon babymetal to accompany them thru their ‘metal journey’.😊
Have you guys noticed that the Japanese audiences never have phone/cameras in their hands? Major taboo in Japan to video during a concert. Also why they are, to me, the best audiences in the world.
Great reaction, nice to hear your comments! At the time of this concert Su-metal would have been 19 just to clarify, maybe not quite as young as you thought :)
You should react to more “black Babymetal” or “moa banger” or “momo banger” assuming you haven’t heard any of it yet to get more vocals from the other members
Thank you for your wonderful response. I think the members of Kami Band during this period had world-class performance techniques. The singers were between 15 and 17 years old, and I think they were the best, not only in terms of their singing ability but also in terms of their sharp dance performances. In other words, I think Babymetal was at its best during this period.
In the lyrics above, the word "wrong" is said again and again. I think that is the "ciga", "cigo" and "cigaru" that is repeated in the song. But, I have seen other translations, and there the word "different" is the word that is repeated. Hmmm, Yava! is danger though. Or rather ヤバッ (Yaba-tsu) means "Oh no!". Looking up the chiga thing I get 違う(Chigau) wich means different. So, maybe Japanese has the same word for different and wrong? Or maybe this translation is wrong?
I mean can the guy who requested the song find a better compilation? I literally can't watch a series of solos where the sound doesn't match the playing. Burns my eyes
Yes, we said we didn't know much about them at all. We are still learning about Babymetal, so we never claimed to be experts on that 🤷 In any way, thank you for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated!

YABAI !! !!
Have you guys noticed that the Japanese audiences never have phone/cameras in their hands? Major taboo in Japan to video during a concert. Also why they are, to me, the best audiences in the world.
Indeed... and... agreed.

Su-metal 20 here, and younger girls are 18 on this video
やば (yaba) or やばい (yabai) doesnt so much mean danger as it means like "oh no!" or "whoa thats crazy!" Depending on context
Happy birthday 「YUIMETAL」(20 June) 🍅 😋 & R.I.P. 「MIKIO FUJIOKA」🎸😭 🦊🤘

REACT TO HEADBANGER MOMOBANGER
I mean can the guy who requested the song find a better compilation? I literally can't watch a series of solos where the sound doesn't match the playing. Burns my eyes
Yava's Lyrics have always been confusing even to the Japanese.
Lol. They are ALWAYS are BabyMetal's band.
Yes, we said we didn't know much about them at all. We are still learning about Babymetal, so we never claimed to be experts on that 🤷
In any way, thank you for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated!
