- When watching videos of this game played by others, I always wondered what that little collection bowl was at the top of the reels. Turns out it is a way to accumulate points for a potential progressive game. Alas, I did not get to take advantage of the progressive game. In only played it long enough to figure out what was going on before moving on.
What I did discover was the unique way that raising the bet would raise the win potential. Increasing the bet size changes high value symbols from ordinary to golden symbols. Gold symbols pay much more than ordinary symbols. I tried out a bet size, which upgraded all but the top symbol to gold. I was curious if it would made a difference. Would I have been better off betting 88 cents a spin so that all of the symbols were Gold? That would depend upon how many spins had wins using that top symbols. The answer to this experiment (which does not mean your results would be similar) is shown at the end of this video.

This worked out OK for you. I posted a video last night... betting the 88 cents...I got a big bonus spin hit with the upgraded symbols: $10 each X $12, $120. Had I not upgraded all the symbols: 50 cents X 12, $6.00. I got the bonus quickly, so my extra investment wasn't much. Had I not upgraded I'd have about $114 less. It's a crap shoot, but my feeling is if I am going to play this type of game I play it all. Thanks for posting... always enjoy your videos.
hotforslots Thanks! After giving it some thought, it seems that this game came up with a clever way to adjust volatility based on the level of the bet. Your experience is a good example of how an 88 cent bet gives you a dramatically bigger win (potential). Thanks for sharing

Nice video - very educational and shows that up-betting isn't always the best way to go. I gave this machine a try but got bored out of my mind after 5 minutes. No multipliers, no special features, just a bonus and the progressive feature. Most people I watch play this game, go for broke and bet the full $8.80 so they can get more progressive feature triggers - most get the mini, which barely covers the cost of one spin.
Yeah, this is not high on my list of slots. Lots of more interesting games out there.

Claudia Day In the end, one just bets what they are comfortable with. The Odds of winning are probably about the same in this game for each level, except that the progressive may be tilted towards a Max Bet.

At my local in Australia our 88 fortunes are way different and better, ha can get any jackpot on 2c spins, you have a gold wild in the middle what dubbles ya win, and that gold wild gives ya a chance to get any gold symbol on any bet (e.g I won $180 on a 5c bet doing 5x 1 credit bet) and got The $70 minor jackpot (the mini on ours resets a $20 when it goes of and the minor resets at $40) haha

Yes, and I have seen people bet max, but that is way, way to high for me lol. I only bet 68 or 88 cents, that's it, if you are going to win, you're going to win even if you don't bet high. My $300, I won with 68 cent bet. Thank you! Nice videos by the way.

Actually, since the results are normally a multiple of the bet, you missed out on more than the $1.90. The pictures (wins shown) would have been different during the bonus round had you bet higher to reflect the higher bet. I don't know if they have one rng or one for each amount bet, so that would also be factored in. It seems sometimes machines hit better on a certain number of coins bet. Thus far, no slot specialist in a casino has been able to tell me whether they all use one RNG or have separate ones for each amount bet...such as one for one coin per line, one for two coins etc.
+slotsnchips I don't know either, but I have always felt they had a separate RNG for each choice of amount bet. There are different payback holds for different coins bet, and a game like Icy Wilds will show you a different screen for the previous spin if you change your bet amount, which seems to support that. You should join slot fanatics - if you don't already belong - and go to their meet & greets and tour slot manufacturers with the group. Better still, go to G2E - the Vegas slot expo in early October - and talk to the reps there. Could be the people in the casinos don't know -- but maybe they aren't allowed to divulge trade secrets. Let us know when you have an article coming out in Casino Player. Maybe it could even be about what you've found out.
68 cents seems like a strange bet. How many pay lines are there.

That bowl, when "full" starts a Progressive Pick'em game. This Pick'em game is predetermined, which means it doesn't really matter what symbols you pick - you'll get the progressive prize that the machine has picked for you.

I don't understand this game, so I don't play it. If you bet 1 coin, you are not eligible for any jackpot (I think), so aren't you forced to bet more than min bet? I'll leave this game to you and find something else I think.

Your math totals aren't correct. You did not take into account the larger amounts you would have won had you bet the 88 cents.
