I didn't even know Sam had a TH-cam channel. I grew up watching him on my local community broadcast at like 6 or 7am before I had to go to school. He made me want to try all kinds of different foods! Looking forward to continuing my cooking Journey with Sam!
I'm curious, how do you decide when to use flour and corn starch, when to use baking powder and baking soda, when to make a batter like this, when to use eggs.. In general, could you do a tutorial on frying stuff, perhaps chicken in particular, but a chicken fried steak wouldn't be amiss.
One of my favorite takeaways from Sam's vids that I use quite often are his different sauces. A lot of them have so many applications. I end up making some containers just to use throughout the week lol.
Sam is THE ONLY chef who'll admit if something like McDonald's is good and not be indenial about it. Unlike some other chefs.. just prove why he's the GOAT of all the Chefs on TH-cam, super down to earth lad
right, Mcds has been around for years nearly everyone has been to one and has gone back many times... but yeah it all sucks... it is what is and generally never tries to be anything else.
He's always catered to stoners though. His channel is mainly food entertainment. Not recipes the average viewer is going to attempt. Unlike Brian Lagerstrom or Kenji. Nothing wrong with that it's just not easy to compare them.
Question kind sir... What if you took it next level and used Seltzer water... Instead of tap water? Should make nice air pockets to level up the crunch...
Haven’t had McDonalds or any fast food in about three years. These look fantastic. I keep saying I’m going to make them, I will now. Love all 4 of the sauces.
THIS! is why I cook most all our meals at home! thank you for this. my granddaughter and i will be making these soon. and yes i am teaching my granddaughter to cook.
My family loves your sauces. Ever since we saw you make ranch dressing (several years ago) we never went back to store bought. I just made all 3 of these for tenders and they were excellent. Thank you!
No. It didn't taste like McDonald's, but it was good enough that we didn't need sauce. I liked it with mostly regular paprika with a little smoked paprika and a little less onions and garlic. My family and friends loved it.
My husband and I are big fans! We started watching your show about 5 months ago. I broke my Ankle 4 weeks ago so I have binge watched your show for the last month. You guys are awesome and so fun to watch! Keep up the laughs and the delicious recipes. We made your Salisbury steak recipe...YUMMMMMY! THANK YOU! Your friends from Florida
I just made some boneless thighs tenders the other day. My dry flour mix is almost the sane as yours, except I used roasted garlic powder. Then I drag them through and egg and worchester wash and coat with seasoned bread crumbs. Shallow fried in extra light virgin olive oil.
I might have processed the chicken too much so next time, I'll make the pulses a bit shorter. That said, this was really good! I added panko to the mixture and that added a bit of extra crunch. Sam, it is YOUR FAULT 😄 that I've started using my air fryer, my Instant Pot and getting into the kitchen and making something! I'm a member of Les Marmitons International, a men's cooking group, and combined with that group and your tutorials...I"m in the kitchen! Thanks
There are actual names for the four (if I recall correctly from 30 years ago as a manager) shapes. I am sure it is on the internet someplace but I remember one is “The Boot”.
I love how you're nothing like the other cooks on TH-cam that feel it necessary to just bash the name brand product that they're trying to emulate just to make themselves feel better about what they put out. You actually praised the McNugget and then made your version. Classy and that's why I solely rely on your recipes and experiments now!
I’ve tried these a couple ways in a similar way, 85/15 split white to dark meat.. Add white pepper and msg while blending the chicken made a huge difference in flavor, thanks for sharing!! Amazing video as always
Originally the roundish ones were white meat and the bent nuggets were dark meat and you could actually ask for the ones you preferred. But that was 35 years ago when I was a tiny kid working his 1st job at McDonald's.
Need your help Sam. I'm trying to figure out how to make a small ( think golf ball) sized mozzarella stuffed meatball and that's then battered and deep fried. I have an idea how to do it but I would love any thoughts on this. Thanks, and I have amazed a lot of people with your recipes. Awesome channel.
Any food created at home is far more healthy and delicious than a fast-food joint. IMHO. Thanks Sam and crew for this production. The music and effects are outstanding!!
it's not healthier if it uses the exact same ingredients, assuming all them are fresh. so if we were to assume he used everything McDonald's does, it's the exact same. realistically the only thing different he did was add more seasoning, not much to discuss with health and paprike, garlic power etc. now it can be healthier to do it yourself, but that would usually mean not making it how others have. like vegan mean bs and nonsense like that. me personally, idc if it's overly healthy, we're here for a good time, not a long time, most people won't live to 100, first 18 you have little freedom and individual ability, then till retirement you'll be working a lot,and after maybe if you're lucky you'll have enough money to live comfortably much less have everything you want. considering all that, why waste time worrying about another week, another month, another year alive....learn to live before you die. hold on too tight and you'll see it all vanish before you can enjoy it.
Thank you for this!! I usually make chicken tenders with knock off Long John Silver batter; they are delicious. I never thought about homemade nuggies. They turned out great, so much more filling than my fav McD's nuggies. We now have a baggie of nuggies in the freezer for a very easy and quick meal. We really enjoy your channel, keep up the good work!
@@Virtuenow I am sure I found the LJS batter on TH-cam. 3/4 cup AP flour, 2 tbsp cornstarch, 1/4 tsp each of baking soda, baking powder, salt. Mix in about 3/4 cup of water.
@Kristie Parker oh I see. I was hoping for a quicker alternative. One that I could take out of freezer, and pop into the toaster oven and it's done fast; for the kids on days after school. I wonder if I can fry, cool completely then freeze them? Thanks anyway
Lee Kum Kee Sauce For Lemon Chicken is awesome too on chicken nuggets. But here in the Netherlands there is a brand of sauces (Yildriz) that make BBQ sauce that tastes as it is the Mc Donalds version, that is great too
I bet a lot of the comments are on the yummy factor of the food or the banter. And well deserved. But the production quality of the videos is a maz ing. And it’s consistently amazing. Well done boys with all the work that goes into the amazing videos.
I cooked Sam's spice bag for the second time this week. After eating the recipe twice I totally believe the crunch is honest and this chicken looks as if it might be twice as crispy as the salted chilli chicken. I might have to combine the two and test just how awesome it might be 😎
The nuggets were really good in the 90’s… I’d love a recipe that mimics that version (they had both dark meat and white meat nuggets - yum). I would order all dark meat usually. Maybe I’ll try with this recipe 🤔
I didn't think the chicken was processed like that, I could have sworn I saw the grain of chicken breast last time I had em which made me think they were just thinned breast meat cut with a cookie cutter shape

I worked at mcdonalds for a few years & one of the nugget presets is 1000% a mini USA lol.
Looks great and just wondering why all the seasoning went in the batter and not any in the chicken when blended.
It's a simple flavor.
Sam, you're so dang likeable. Thanks for these great recipes in a fun to view format. Don't ever change!
he's a pothead. you ever meet an unchill pothead? nope! lmao
There are four shapes of Chicken McNuggets. They are known as the Bell, the Ball, the Boot, and the Bow Tie.

OF COURSE I WOULD SEASON THE RAW CHCKEN MIX BEFORE SHAPING.
GREAT JOB MAN 👌🏾👏🏽❤️
Ahhhh... chili prawn crunch. I was in heaven when I found that condiment.
One of our favorites too but learning to make them at home is awesome . Thank you
I always love seeing the senator from Metal Gear cooking.
Looks good, pretty sure McDonalds just uses Tempura batter :)
2 TB mayo, 2 TB sour cream and 1/2 a ts of spicy chili oil is an amazing dipping sauce for some nugs
The conversion of spiced dredge to batter was a stroke of genius, Sammy. Great work as always 👍
That's pretty common nowadays.
That's basic cooking knowledge
It's the only dry mustard worth buying!
Happy Friday
Can you please find out if you can make them with keto friendly flour and with an air fryer? If so can you make a video on it

In the Uk they had a sweet curry sauce i wish they had here. It was the best ever.
definitely gonna try these
good lookin' nuggets; i'll make them but i'll shape a little 'handle on the patties like McDons. Dips look yummy, ty Sam.
If we freeze them for later use should we thaw it first or fry them frozen as is?
Would it be okay to season the chicken with what we season the flour before forming as well, or would that be too much??
Why didn't you season the chicken?
You should have also made a McSam's version of the nuggets with dark meat and spices.
Nice little recipe. Could freeze them also I guess for a quick lazy launch to be eaten later.

I love how proud Sam looked at 8:58 about his segway to the webshop. :D
“It’s everything I dreamt it would be” lol
Bang bang sauce is garlic chili paste (Sambal) instead of siriracha. And a bit of lemon juice and white vinegar.

The bacon ranch mccrispy has been my favorite thing at McDonald’s in a long time. Always super crispy which is surprising for a fast food place
Sam can you show a recipe for a traditional yumyum sauce that you get at japanese grills?
The nuggets are not random - McDonald's chicken nuggets come in four shapes: the bell, the ball, the boot, and the bow tie.
Get the family together, made these and use all the hottest sauces in the fridge. Like first we feast. We have a blast.
I believe there are 4 different nug shapes with the boot being the favourite.
Trick...use sparkling water to make the batter. Dunk the nuggets in before all the fizz disappears. You'll like the difference!
Free million dollar idea, a nugget scooper/ ala ice cream scooper to simply scoop and shape
Hey Sam..... You GOT to do your take on the McDonald's Crispy Chicken Sandwich.
One step further, flour it freeze it batter one half freeze it batter the other freeze it home made fresh nuggets
I like Ur batter better bc U can see the spices. Great job and I'm going 2 use Ur hot mustard sauce udea. Thanks Fellas
