Yes I totally agree with liking a bad game due to its initial hype, I’m guilty of that too.. Now that I think about it……this video has caused me to reflect on most of my questionable life decisions 🤦🏽♂️
You are so right about the hype thing Ircha. I go back and play some games that I loved in the past and sometimes I’m like “wait a minute, this isn’t that great” haha. Also I love that you love Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I feel like it’s the best JRPG on the switch.
Star Atlas has great action, beautiful graphics and the story is engaging scifi hokum - plus Starfox and the gang are in it, so you can play it like a Starfox game! The big minus for the game is that it has the dreaded Ubisoft endless-sidequest generator leading to maps bombarded with icons and a lot of busy work, which knocks a couple of points off what could be a more focused, tighter and more memorable adventure. Still gets an easy 7.5 fro me, definitely pick it up in a sale. Love your channel Ircha!
@@ircha yesssss so cozy, the music when you bring someone to the Everdoor gets me every time 🤣 the graphics are also insanely good. I love it so much. I might like the graphics and colours and artstyle more than BOTW even!
I would never say that it could be considered a "regret". It makes it feel like you are depreciating your older work in my opinion, but this is just one viewer's perspective here. However, I say that what you are doing is a great idea to have a sort of "reflection". Because like you said, hype can definitely "influence" a higher score in some cases. "Back in 2018" sounds like you are doing a "Back in my day" tone lol. My personal take, here when it comes to "scoring" I rarely pay attention to them. I tend to pay more attention to the details, the critiques, the mechanics, etc. For those are what influence me to either buy a game, or to stay away from it. As an example here, a game that I played recently and have been looking forward to was "Land of War - The Beginning". Which is an FPS based in WW2 during the "beginning" of the war between Germany and Poland. Where the synopsis is you are a Polish Soldier taking part in the Battles of Mokra, Warsaw, and Hel (Yes 1 L). The game is in a mixed review state atm. Keep in mind this is an Indie Studio out of Poland and they tried their best to replicate the feel of the old school Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games. To go back to how it's a Indie Polish studio, the game is excellent in it's original Polish language, but is bad with it's English Dub. The game itself is still a bit buggy, but overall a fun experience for me. That being said, while I am very happy with my purchase, I know that people might not like a game that is still in a very buggy state, which I might say "buy it", I know to a viewer they might not be convinced, so in the end it's up to them to buy it. If the team were to continue to improve upon the game and even include level DLCs (as they provided weapon DLC's for the game that still fit the time period (like a Tommy Gun)), like the Battle of Wizna, which really would be an interesting experience to go through all 3 days of the Polish Thermopylae. In the end, it would still be up to what MS Games will do with this project. As personally, I want to see them succeed and make this product better, for I see potential in this title. Despite that paragraph above, I know there are people that do like a sort of "scoring" system, that might help influence them to get a game based on what the reviewer says, critiques, or compliments about a game, and you definitely did help in influencing me get into a WHOLE bunch of Idea Factory games, and of course I don't regret that in any stretch of the imagination. This indeed was a very fun video to see how you reflected on your past work, and if you agreed with Past Ircha or even disagreed be it improving or decreasing the score at hand. Opinions do change over time, they are not always solid in some cases.
I agree with you in My Time at Portia now. Maybe even a 7 for me. Performance and content on the Switch has been AWFUL. It’s a great game regardless but definitely should’ve had a lot more polish before the publisher/devs released it. Can we also talk about the lack of support for that game on systems other than PC? Bc it’s been bad. Really bad. We finally got the content that PC gamers had 1-2 years ago and when it was released, there was a massive gamebreaking bug that took another month to resolve. For those reasons, I won’t be buying My Time at Sandrock for at least a year or two. I want to be sure the developers/publishers are releasing an actual finished product.
I couldn't agree more ! A few months ago when an update finally arrived on the switch, we couldn't enter the Desert ruined anymore. (After a few months, they patched it) This, along the loading screen (the update made them quicker but still long) and the fact the my game didn't save my progress a few times make playing it so incredibly frustrating. It's annoying because the game itself is excellent. As you said, it's clearly for me as well that they didn't put much love in the switch version which is a shame.
I like the idea of saying ircha approved.sometimes score hare hard to give a game.example i really approve of ff7 remake but im not sure what I would score it on a scale to 10.i love certain games that I would score low
You’ve not explained the changes though. So doesn’t help as much because it’s almost like you’re giving marks based on memories now and if it’s grown or not. But wouldn’t we want to know the score while it was fresh for you surely.
I didn't like Neo the world ends with you much but after listening to the praise other people were giving it I plan to play through it again. Hopefully I'll change my mind because the original is my favourite DS game.
I don't like scores. I grew up with two magazines, Club Nintendo (official magazine in Mexico) and La Mosca (music and counterculture magazine), and neither of them game scores to the games and albums they reviewd, instead they wrote long articles about the games and brief essays about the albums, mentioning their characteristics, and that was better than a score to choose games and albums.
Absolutely loved Graveyard Keeper too, but the developers don't give a rat's arse about us. They're pushing new DLC when the base game has had game breaking glitches for longer than I've owned it.
actually i bought ni no kuni 1 and 2 i found at my local store for really dirt cheap price and im playing them right now 1 is good but the AI partner needed more work story is fine ni no kuni 2 is not good as the 1st but it fixed the system and story just okey
Ye i never understood your score for Pokemon SW/SH. Still i think 7 is way too much for that mediocre, content cut, unpolished, empty ps2 game. Pokémon is the highest grossing media in global history and thats the best they could do. They went downhill since the 3ds era. And looking at the future games they won't be any better. But casuals will eat it up anyways...
Um actually they're starting to improve. Even though Gen 4 remakes were made by different company, the lightning and effects are cool and some missed features were added that weren't in the original like choosing a Pokémon to walk with around the region. Idk about you but Legends Arceus is looking promising and it's a huge turn from Swsh
@@asunnayos Looks exactly like Sw/Sh. Same shitty visuals and choppy animations. The new mons are cool. Dp remake looks good but there are bunch of missing features and quality of life stuff. Example tms are one use only again. Just why?
@@yamivirus3275 Personally I didn't mind Swsh graphics, I liked the vibrant colors they used. Arceus graphics do look kind of stale but it's not bad for me. They probably did one tms use for Dp to make it a better challenge/stick to the original of the game. We already don't need to teach our mons cut, surf and stuff. Will say Im more hyped for Dp. Pokémon isn't the only game going downhill so is Animal Crossing but people don't see it or ignore it bc of the dlc and update recently. A lot of games nowadays are changing and it's frustrating but people will still play and buy it because the companies will never ruin their series to be unplayable.
@@yamivirus3275 Idk what's missing from Diamond Pearl other then end game content but end game content has been dying before Swsh in my opinion. The underground and secret base exists and now we can find mons which is really exciting.
@@asunnayos You can check the leaks whats missing from sp remake. The one time tms are stupid. Even in gen 3 remake they got rid of that. Why bring back? The graphics are a joke. I know the switch isnt powerful but at least make the environment comperable with Botw or Monster hunter Rise 2. Where is the quality control from Nintendo's part? They rush out these unpolished games and they will only have more and more angry and dissapointed fans.

They fix load time with patch, for my time in Portia
Good to hear!!
It is normal for our tastes to change over time.
You’ve not explained the changes though. So doesn’t help as much because it’s almost like you’re giving marks based on memories now and if it’s grown or not. But wouldn’t we want to know the score while it was fresh for you surely.
Atelier for the win! 💖🧪
I liked the pokemon costume
This is the problem with opinion based reviews. So many of these games still getting high scores are objectively awful games.
Yeah, in a lot of your first reviews, you just say that the game is Ircha Gaming approved.
Atelier Sophie 2 coming soon. Just saw trailer. Looks good.
I didn't like Neo the world ends with you much but after listening to the praise other people were giving it I plan to play through it again. Hopefully I'll change my mind because the original is my favourite DS game.
Let's Go Pikachu is a solid 8/10. It's the most fun I've had shiny hunting in a Pokemon game!
Yo girl dip them toes into dark souls remastered
The "honey moon" phase.
If Borderlands 3 9/10 how do you rate Borderlands 2?
I don't like scores. I grew up with two magazines, Club Nintendo (official magazine in Mexico) and La Mosca (music and counterculture magazine), and neither of them game scores to the games and albums they reviewd, instead they wrote long articles about the games and brief essays about the albums, mentioning their characteristics, and that was better than a score to choose games and albums.
I trust your scores
Absolutely loved Graveyard Keeper too, but the developers don't give a rat's arse about us. They're pushing new DLC when the base game has had game breaking glitches for longer than I've owned it.
I love your tattoo!
I liked the dance it’s nice
Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee 5/10? Generous
Also when are you making a Skyrim buy or not review
Skyrim is buy.
Cute 🥰 claw clip Ircha gaming.
I was surprise that you score 8 or 9 in Atelier series 😅 i thought you will rate the game 10 out of 10 lol.
Atelier Ryza new score is 10/10 😁👍
@@ircha yeah i know 😊.. Btw i'll start with Rorona next year lol
Wow!
Kinda cute to see you slightly cringe at yoru self from the 2018 ratings, Shows how much you have grown as a reviewer too. ^^
Ni no kuni 1 is over 9,000!
Not a 10 lol
Over 9000! 😃
actually i bought ni no kuni 1 and 2 i found at my local store for really dirt cheap price and im playing them right now 1 is good but the AI partner needed more work story is fine
ni no kuni 2 is not good as the 1st but it fixed the system and story just okey
I approve.
I gave ircha a 10 but that cud be cuz i want more reviews but for honesty and entertainment u shud still be above alphaomegasin or metaljesusrocks
lol still amazingly high rates, more than half are -5
Cool tattoo
My Time In Portia is creepy as hell and deserers the 2/10.
