Testify oneness of Allah, Do Good Deeds and believed Muhammad is its messenger. If do not register to enter University, people still can study on their own and sit for the exam (not sure for exam). But the University will not issue you the degree scroll.
I listen to several of our world renowned preachers like Yasir Qadhi, Mufti Menk, etc, and while I know Paul is not a preacher like them there's just something about him that makes him one of my favorite people to listen to about Islam, there's just this general enthusiasm and great sincerety that oozes from him that I love so much. Friend, I always have this small challenge as to whether Allah really had a conversation with the real Jesus as mentioned in Al-Maidah 5:109-120 since Muslims say they love Jesus and Christians say Jesus of the Qur'an is an imposter of the true Jesus, making this a deceptive conversation which exploits the real Jesus to make Islam appear true and to make the false god of the Qur’an appear great while blaspheming the true Jesus? I think there should be simple and unbiased way to determine if the Qur'anic Jesus (Isa) or the Jesus of the Gospels are still the same. If Muslims and Christians disagree on the true identity of Jesus, which source(s) outside the Gospels and the Qur'an can they both consult to determine which, between the Jesus the Son of God of the Gospels or Isa of the Qur'an, is the true Jesus? Jewish Old Testament scripture (the Tanakh) IS the earlier text which was written without any bias towards either Islam or Christianity and contains MANY Messianic prophecies through which Muslims and Christians can learn more about the attributes of the true Jesus. Do you know about the Messianic prophecies? To cut on time, you can just Google something along the lines of "messianic prophecies in the Tanakh/Old Testament/Judaism" then you can select any website of your choice and you should easily get the prophecies of the Messiah. Here is the challenge: can you find and send me any TWO Messianic prophecies of your choice so that we can determine whether they fit with the Qur'anic Messiah? If you can find Messianic prophecies which fit with Isa, that could really make the conversation in Al-Maidah 5:109-120 believable and interesting. If not, should it be reasonable to say this conversation is false, delusional and a deceptive exploitation of the true Jesus inorder to make Islam appear true? Asalaam alaikum, interesting. On one occasion that I recount, Allah saved me (there are many), I was driving home from work at night (180 mile round trip), and fell asleep at the wheel. I started dreaming there was a huge tree in the distance, and people around it - watched fascinated, then abruptly i woke up, and I was heading for a tree, I had just enough time to break and swerve....yeah, so, my connection to Allah is like something precious I hold in the palm of my hand. Sometimes people think that thing doesn't exist, while I'm staring at it, marvelling at it. And that is not at all the entirety of it.

Good one Paul. Keep learning about Islam. I along with 20 students attended evening classes to understand Islam incl a visit to a Mosque. Our teacher was Dr Chris Hewer. With his guidance I read the Holy Quran in 3 months. I now have 4 Qurans. Best one is The Study Quran edited by Seyyed Hossein Nasr et al (HaperOne, 2017). The authors here are North American and Canadian. To compare and contrast I also have The Jerome Biblical Commentary for the Twenty-First Century edited by John J Collins et al (t&tclark 2022). We are fortunate In London. We can aways run up the British Library to look up rare literature. Easier than taking a trip Cambridge. At the rate I am reading Jerome, it will take me two years to finish the whole book.

Paul is a good example of intellectual who understand theological concepts and looking in depth on logical and spiritual aspect of religions! With his depth study, which is encouraged by Islam just not to believe blindly, but logically he chooses for Islam.
Friend, I always have this small challenge as to whether Allah really had a conversation with the real Jesus as mentioned in Al-Maidah 5:109-120 since Muslims say they love Jesus and Christians say Jesus of the Qur'an is an imposter of the true Jesus, making this a deceptive conversation which exploits the real Jesus to make Islam appear true and to make the false god of the Qur’an appear great while blaspheming the true Jesus?
I think there should be simple and unbiased way to determine if the Qur'anic Jesus (Isa) or the Jesus of the Gospels are still the same.
If Muslims and Christians disagree on the true identity of Jesus, which source(s) outside the Gospels and the Qur'an can they both consult to determine which, between the Jesus the Son of God of the Gospels or Isa of the Qur'an, is the true Jesus?
Jewish Old Testament scripture (the Tanakh) IS the earlier text which was written without any bias towards either Islam or Christianity and contains MANY Messianic prophecies through which Muslims and Christians can learn more about the attributes of the true Jesus.
Do you know about the Messianic prophecies?
To cut on time, you can just Google something along the lines of "messianic prophecies in the Tanakh/Old Testament/Judaism" then you can select any website of your choice and you should easily get the prophecies of the Messiah.
Here is the challenge: can you find and send me any TWO Messianic prophecies of your choice so that we can determine whether they fit with the Qur'anic Messiah?
If you can find Messianic prophecies which fit with Isa, that could really make the conversation in Al-Maidah 5:109-120 believable and interesting. If not, should it be reasonable to say this conversation is false, delusional and a deceptive exploitation of the true Jesus inorder to make Islam appear true?

Asalaam alaikum, interesting. On one occasion that I recount, Allah saved me (there are many), I was driving home from work at night (180 mile round trip), and fell asleep at the wheel. I started dreaming there was a huge tree in the distance, and people around it - watched fascinated, then abruptly i woke up, and I was heading for a tree, I had just enough time to break and swerve....yeah, so, my connection to Allah is like something precious I hold in the palm of my hand. Sometimes people think that thing doesn't exist, while I'm staring at it, marvelling at it. And that is not at all the entirety of it.
Passionate about the truth, that hits deep!! May Allah guide us to the HAQQ, the truth, HIM!

Good one Paul. Keep learning about Islam. I along with 20 students attended evening classes to understand Islam incl a visit to a Mosque. Our teacher was Dr Chris Hewer. With his guidance I read the Holy Quran in 3 months. I now have 4 Qurans. Best one is The Study Quran edited by Seyyed Hossein Nasr et al (HaperOne, 2017). The authors here are North American and Canadian. To compare and contrast I also have The Jerome Biblical Commentary for the Twenty-First Century edited by John J Collins et al (t&tclark 2022). We are fortunate In London. We can aways run up the British Library to look up rare literature. Easier than taking a trip Cambridge. At the rate I am reading Jerome, it will take me two years to finish the whole book.

There are lot of average scholars who know the Islamic legal tradition, but very few who have real mastery of the theological dimension (kalam tradition) and have immersed in the spritiual tradition of Islam, at the same time well versed in western philosophy and post-modern reality. We need more scholars who are adept in and at home in these areas to address the contemporary challenges head on and guide the Muslim youth. I hope UTICA Masjid will support Tom with time and the necessary resources to spend a good deal of effort pursuing studies in the theological and spiritual dimensions.
