    I have a friend in Texas whose first name is " Kent". It's not until recently after I watched videos like this that I come to understand why I always heard he was addressed as " Ken" all the time. American English is quite elusive. Whoever mastered T's masters American pronunciations. As always, great job!

    I have been living in the US for half my life, and I have issues with pronouncing conjunction words 🙃. I spoke Spanish with my parents and relatives, so I never bothered with English language grammar. 😢
    I have been acting in my nature language for a long time but now I want to act in English but having trouble with pronouciations.

    Your videos are amazing and help me a lot. Thank you so much! I was wondering how to decide if the tense is present or past by listening as /t/, /d/ are omitted when they’re between consonants.
    Following examples are having past tense “ed” between consonants.
    They declined to provide further information.
    I stopped the car.
    I managed to get up at 6am.
    I promised to buy a dog.
    I hoped to see him.
    Is there a stop /t/ or /d/ or just silence?

    • @mrmememe777
      @mrmememe777  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's right. In these cases there's no difference in pronunciation. People understand from the context of the conversation.

      @@mrmememe777 Can the beginning learner divide any word to syllables without looking in dictionary?
      And what is the rule ?
      For example word " begin " its syllables are ( beg - in ) or ( be - gin ) ?

  • @wait5233

    Hello Sir: I have a question for you:
    consonant + t + consonant = t is silent. For example „to pain(t) the house.“ But when you say „eight“ for example „I had eight dollars“ you use the „t“ as a stop t and not as a silent t even though „h“ and „d“ are consonants. Why? Thank you in advance❤️

    • @mrmememe777
      @mrmememe777  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both cases are a stop T that you don't really hear.
