sorry but I have to disagree. I don't like his cocky stlye. For me the Black Master in the "tomb of the sea" and the "reunion: escaping the monstrous snake" is THE COOLEST. but of course everyone has different taste, for me Baron's character is not likeable, sorry.
Watched this when it first came out and he became my favorite Shades actor, then Ultimate Note came out and he was bumped to second. Just last week, after starting it years ago and dropping it, I watched Bromance (2015) and he was the male lead and I really liked him! I never even put together who he was until I saw this video. Now, I gotta go back and watch Reunion again for him! He might take number 1 back! Great video!
Kinda cool that Baron and Liu Yuning are in drama together now. And with Joseph Zeng, nonetheless. Kinda reserved about watching it though, seems way too emotionally turbulent for me rn. lol

the Black Master in the "tomb of the sea" is the best, for me he is. so cool and funny. :) I know both actors are different of course in portraing this character but Ji Chen's version is more convincing as to being more mature, having many skills and is more reliable. Had to watch the episodes he was in in the TOBTS series several times just because I couldn't concentrate on the subtitles and him at the same time. so watched everthing twice ... three times, no, four times ☺ Love him. Baron's character is a bit too cocky for me, sorry. but... his eyes are mesmerizing, though. 😋
For me it was completely in contrary :) I liked the Black glasses in Tomb of the sea, but when saw Baron in this role, I completely lost it. For me this is the perfect portraying of Black Glasses. I like this charisma, sexyness and cockiness:) And this playful smile is to die for:)

It is also funny, especially Fatty :) Also, my opinion is changing about Glasses, I find him more and more interesting and I love the relationship between him and the mute girl. They are so cute. And I'm from Hungary by the way. There is a huge fanbase of Asian dramas in this country. Mine started with the Untamed and found the Tomb of the Sea series because of Wang Hao Xuan (love him to bits🥰🥰 , as Xue Yang he was pure perfection) and saw Luhan's (ex-EXO) film in this Lost Tomb series (I did not like it at all, sorry) and now I'm watching this. I'm confused sometimes as to who is who and why things are happening the way they do, probabla I am watching this whole franchise in a wrong order. I guess, but regardless, I love it. ❤
@@XueYangbaby Hi! I have a very alike story) I used to watch Korean and Japanese dramas mostly. And my Chinese advanture started with The Untamed as well. I became a fan of Wang Yibo. I love the way he dances. As for Xue Yang, you're right, he is so great, ecpecially in the moments with the blind girl. Hao Xuan is a very good actor cause he's so different in The Untamed and Tomb of the Sea. After The Untamed I tried to watch a few dramas but haven't finished them. And incidentally ran into Tomb of the Sea which I liked a lot. And after I decided to watch Lost Tomb Reboot. At first I was s bit hesitating because I already got used to the actors in TOTS, so I thought I might not like the new ones. But in fact I liked them all even more (especially Baron won me over, as you already understand)))). I wish they made all franchise with this cast. Btw, I also have some gaps and can't understand some things, so I started to read the books recently and want to watch the rest :)

I jumped to conclusions too early with him. I felt so sorry for him when ChuChu died. I know he loved her deep down but didn't want her to get involved in his world, but he also deserves love. I didn't want him to drop her whistle off of the cliff in one of the last episodes, I would have kept it. I mean she was precious to him I'm sure. I was angry when he dropped it. Either he didn't want to feel the pain anytime he looked at it later, or he really is that heartless. but i doubt he is heartless. I really wanted to them to be together, they looked so sweet. She could have been the perfect partner for her, showing him what love is and how he could live a normal life and can go home to a loving woman.

That's really heartbreaking for me, the helplessness and her fear of losing him is just so heart wrenching. The other favourite scene is at the very end of the series, but don't won't tell it in case you haven't watched it till the end . No spoilers 😊

Actually we get to see his eyes at least ,out of all the Glasses and maaan I gotta say those eyes are just mesmerising. I loved his scenes with the girl. actually, when he gets shot and collapses in the forest and CHuchu cannot call for help is my favourite part of the whole series. no misunderstanding of it, I'm not sick for liking someone's suffering but how the helplessness was portrayed here. I mean ChuChu cannot speak and is just crying not being able to call for help, that scene is heartbreaking.
@@XueYangbaby yes he will eventually go blind, in fact he loves music because when he does go blind it'll be "the only beauty" he'll still be able to experience. His eyes in the books and the shows are very different. In the books they're pure black and very unsettling. I'm excited to see if we ever get that version in an adaption.
You ruined it putting that color of lipstick on him. It needs to look natural or not at all. I wish they would make a 3rd season focusing on a romantic pursuit between Baron Chen and Maggie Huang in the characters they played in this one. I could do without "the boss". He's just too unbelievable. I also like the Black Glasses actor in Sand Sea.
