I have been breastfeeding my first child for almost 6 months and was just recently told I have IGT by a lactation consultant. My baby is at a healthy weight. I wonder if it would help for research purposes that I've always felt like my baby was rarely satisfied after feeding and I have had to feed around the clock almost every hour sometimes less than every hour. Is it possible that because I don't have enough developed tissue it means that my breasts can only hold a small amount at a time so I have to feed extremely frequently in order for my baby to get her full days worth of milk? That's the conclusion I've come to. It has been an exhausting journey and I hope that we can continue research and find solutions to this issue. I have become accustomed to my baby needing to constantly feed but I have no life outside of that. And now going back to work I am unable to pump enough and as frequently so unfortunately I will be supplementing with formula but I am blessed to have had this long to breastfeed my baby. Thank you for all you ladies do.
