Yeah, shes not a cursed evil Spirit, she uses evil Spirit powers to be able to take territory from other evil spirits so she can help the condemn souls. I bet in some point It Will be revealed that she was like momos granny in the past when she was alive.

Manga readers expected peak, and what we got was transcendent. Like, they went harder than anyone could have expected with the animation. Not only that, but this episode gives us our first taste of Dandadan's hidden emotional side. Trust me, you might need tissues in upcoming episodes. And on top of all of that! The romance! Momo and Okarun's chemistry, and them fretting over their goodbye. This is the start of something beautiful. Thank you, Science Saru!
I told my friend recently that dandadan is weird like chainsawman but does romcom and those heartfelt moments so much better. Can't wait for the other character arcs
With that reveal at the end, now we know why Turbo Granny was looking to gooble those weenies. The moment she felt imminent SA in the air (ep 1), she phoned in immediately to save Momo. What a great storytelling since we first thought it was just a random banana joke.
That was never confirmed, was it? She had no idea what was going on and immediately tried to murder the supposed victim of the SA. Not to mention she tried to take Okarun's thing and he was innocent. I think she just enjoys taking things, and her going through the phone is a coincidence.

She consoles the souls of women who meet unfortunate deaths and couldn’t watch Momo be assaulted. But grandma literally explains that the laws of their universe is to not mock the dead which was what Okarun was kinda of doing by going to a spiritual hotspot and mocking/denying their existence. Which is likely why she possessed him in the first place. Also, it’s not easy to have 1 explanation for a phenomena. There may be conflicting personalities. Her intentions may have been pure when grandma was alive but bad situations turn souls into evil spirits. Grandma says something along the lines of “evil spirits don’t want to become evil.”
@@UmbraMan1 Another thing is the fact that Turbo Granny is also fused with the bound spirit crab, that is a fusion of all those girl that died bearing a huge grudge that probably gone from hating only their murders to hating males in general. This and as IGleeker said, a damn male was fooling around in their rest spot. That's for sure had strike a nerve in the bound spirit, and by proxy in Turbo Granny as well.
The way they optimized the budget is super creative. It has some low frame-rate shots with minimal animation hidden in the best possible spots and the use of red palette simplifies the work of coloring the key frames. What a great episode. I hope they can keep this up. I think the couple of episodes won't be as action heavy.

Turbo Granny helped girls who were victims of SA, which is why she jumped into the phone to fight the aliens in Ep1 and she checked Momo's lower body in Ep3 to see if there were injuries

This is just a speculation, but I believe the grandma is like an adoptive one, since we don't know anything about Momo's parents. And probably Seiko took her because she sense something special in Momo.
I Saw the First episodd than I needed to read the 170 chapters of the manga, its amazing, but seeing It again in the way they are directing the snimation its even more incledible. The song moment, momo pov and the smooth fast transition of the perspective shifting from momos eye to the her granny back showing that she was watching the fight from the border of her city Just waiting to prepare the barrier knowing that momo and okarun will find a way to do It its absolute cinema. This anime is so caotic but It has so much deepness If you look with good attention, like, granny is so powerful that from the moment she felt the turbo granny aura in her doorstep she started to plan a way to make two aprentices defeat a Spirit that she normally would avoid herself, because she knows how momo would react and she believe in her genious, like, If they survived the turbo granny possetion until that moment, she knows they have a chance.
I also wanted to say, I have such high hopes for this series. As a non manga reader i cant speak for whats to come, but im not gonna lie that ending beating the location bound spirit and turbo granny literally gave me the same feeling as when villains are defeated in hunter x hunter which i wont say why to avoid spoilers of that anime but god damn i swear to god if this series does that same thing with the other villains i dont know if my heart will be able to take it.
I have to recommend to watch the dub as well. This is one of the few anime I've seen that the dub is almost better than sub honestly. The trash talk, jokes, Turbo-Granny Transformation all sound so good in dub. Not even to react to but just to treat yourself to peak TV

The idea of the tragedy in the manga and anime actually comes real life tragedies happened in Japan, which is the Tsutomu Mizayaki serial killer case, kiddnapping 4-7yo girls, killing them, mollesting the corpses, dismembered them and disposing them in the tunnel called Komine Tunnel. Btw, the depiction of the moment the girls disintegrating into the air in the manga is better than the anime. Cause in the manga, the girls were smiling while disintegrating, showing that they can finally Rest In Peace. Surprise that the studio didn’t included the “smile” but just a normal face.
There is a fan speculation being shared right now where the reason why granny took his pp is because he's a male, which is the same gender of the suspect(s) who unalive those girls. But her taking his pp actually has nothing to do with his gender and the gender of the people who vayo-lated and unalive those girls. Granny can actually curse both genders. it just so happens that okarun was the one who got cursed by granny. And her talking about gobbling his pp is just part of her foul-mouthed personality, which adds a bit of humor to her character. Also there's no mention where all of the suspects who unalive those girls are all male. She also ask okarun if he wants to suckle her teats, which a person who dislike men would never ask. Again, all of it is just part of her foul-mouth personality. And another information that is being copy and pasted by ALOT of people right now is that the reason why granny entered the phone in episode 1 is because granny tried saving momo from being grape by the aliens is purely a fan speculation. The truth is, it's just a scene thought by the author of thinking on how he can make momo encounter okarun in his cursed state and momo being saved from the aliens. And the fan speculation would get immediately destroyed if people remembered that granny have been trying to unalive momo since episode 1 and almost vayo-lated her in episode 3. Her consoling the spirit girls is just to make her image look better for obvious future plots that includes her. So the point is, there are scenes where you don't have to think too deeply about the plot and if you remember all the information in the previous episodes, you'd see that alot of fan speculations are complete bull. But in the end, just enjoy the show.

If you think about it, turbo granny saved Momo in the first episode, she saved her from having the same End as the girls in the tunnel.
It's unlikely from a similar one, these are aliens, not violent maniacs, Momo would be alive. But without memories of the experiment
