  • I acquired a non-running BR400 leaf blower around 5ish years ago. I finally decided to get it running. This video shows you how I got it running and gives tips on where to be mindful.(Where I had issues). Video is kind of long but it is indexed if you need to jump to a certain section.
I'd recommend cleaning out your spark arrestor as soon as you've verified you have spark, since cleaning it out is something free you can do and it being clogged is a common issue you can eliminate immediately.
Hope this helps you out. Hit the like button!

Good job, thanks for thre info.. was just looking for wire locations took mine to a shop. They told me the coil was bad. And would NOT fix it. I bought a coil from Amazon $17. Runs better than the new one I bought. Use starting fluid once. It will run fine after that. Starting fluid devolves the years of gunk. THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for this excellent step by step problem solving video. I'm having the same no start issue with my BR400.. Will try cleaning the exhaust screen first. Thanks.

I have the br400 also. It starts, but the kill switch won't shut it off! Can it be the coil is bad? Help!

@traviscash8887 Great video. Having a different issue with this trusty 20+ year old blower, wondering if you can help. Throttle Trigger assembly came apart. Bought a new E clip and am trying to re-assemble, but I'm having two issues:
    1) When I stack all the washers back (assuming the order is: Biggest bronze looking washer, Sprin washer, Silver Washer, Spring Washer, Big Washer), I can't get to the notch for the E-clip unless I remove a washer.
    2) Lever and the Trigger each have a little "tooth". This is how the two engage with each other when you increase or decrease the Throttle. I can't seem to put the two back together in such a way that the Trigger releases when you push the Lever down....I have the throttle fully engaged and I have the notch on the top of the Trigger set against the cylinder for the top screw hole for the Throttle Body.
Happy to share pictures or message another way...let me know! Thanks.

I've never had the trigger apart. But I found a diagram on diyspareparts.com which helps a bit. Google it. It shows the image of the washers and it looks like the brass washer, spring washer, silver washers (doesn't describe final 2 washers for some reason.). You can copy the Part number listed, and then search it on Ebay to see what the washer looks like. Otherwise I don't know much about the trigger.

Where's a good place to start on adjustment on the high and low carb

Not real sure, I ended up buying a replacement carb for pretty cheap.
