We all know her: Mrs Wanjiru Kiama. She has lost her husband.
Mr. Kiama battled mental illness for 18 years and his wife has never left his side.
As we mourn his death, Mrs. Kiama takes us through their journey from when they met in 1984, their love, the mental illness and Mr Kiama's last days. This is a special edition: REMEMBERING MR KIAMA

I really respect Wakiama, she taught us Kiswahili for 4 years in Muruguru girls 2007-2010. To imagine she was going through such hard times and still maintain a straight face in class and help us learn and give sober advice is strength of a woman.

Actually that singer Ray Parker jr is still very much alive and still singing and young. Love his songs! That said I feel this lady and everyone taking care of mentally ill, the anguish they give us when in mad season, the stigma from ignorant villagers etc. Its particulary hard to help raise their esteem. Prayers are key besides taking meds. I had to take my patient for deliverance prayers tondu we! Love them, however difficult jua ni juu ya ugojwa, listen to them,support them physically, materially, financially, psychologically etc and never , ever reprimand them juu hapo ndipo huchukua poison wa ingest.
