Nice! I was also at Above the Clouds, but only for the 10K. I love how you call attention to RACING on the back half, because that's EXACTLY how I felt in this race! Going up to the first aid station was all uphill, so my goal was just jog as much as possible. But after the first aid station, I got in race mode too. There's that brutal hill climb before you start a long downhill, and someone was coming up behind me, and I had a chance to pass someone else. So I bombed up that last big hill, and almost threw up. But it felt SO good to pass him, and never see him again. Now I'm signed up for my first 50K, in Moab, with Mad Moose.
That's awesome! a 50k In moab sounds like a good time! Yeah that last little climb can get you some spots! if you look closely you can see a high viz shirt coming up behind me after the last aid station. I knew he was there so I turned it up on that last hill as well. Cheers! :)
Hi Josh! Thank you for an interesting video. Would love a more detailed video on how you train to stay injury free. Love running but cant spend time at the gym at the moment. Perhaps something related to the bands that you showed of in a another video I saw. Greetings from Sweden!
Pro tip for the situation around 4:55 on those Salomon flasks when they are empty and you can’t open them. Bite the bite valve and blow air into it until it blows all the way back up. That gives it structural integrity and you will then be able to open it trivially.
Thanks for the support! Haha If you love cycling chances are you’ll love running ! There are a few reasons why most people don’t enjoy it at first. Pace, distance, maybe wrong shoe for the foot tyoe, all of which were reasons I always saw it as a task/ workout rather then something I enjoy going out and doing. Glad it’s peaking some interest! I will say it’s not for EVERYONE, but I definitely think it’s for more people than one would think. :) Cheers!
Nice job man! What an accomplishment. Feel like I'm in the same place with how I view my running and cycling right now, so I totally get how you feel on the difference of getting somewhere with your own body.
@@alpopp yeah it’s crazy ! Still love both, but there is a greater allure at the moment towards running and covering ground with your own body and some carb mixes haha
Congratulations 🎉🎉 Thank you for taking the time to share. ✌️
Solid work Josh! Running my first 50km on Sunday as well.

AWESOME! thank you for the info! My hands were cold as I opted to run with no gloves but it was still pretty stuck haha. Thank you for the help!
Congrats! Glad the injury didn’t prevent you from enjoying the event.
@@Samyouel5 thanks man !! Yeah glad it all went well and I showed up to do it
Been following you since Stoked on Spokes. I really enjoyed this video, congrats on the run! You make a non-runner think about maybe running! Haha 🙂
