I still seem to have some screen tear with this setup but it's otherwise running very smooth. It's fairly minor and still totally playable though. I've tried different combinations of vsync on/off in the config file and nvidia, if anyone has any luck eliminating screen tear completely then please let me know! Edit: FIXED! In the main Xenia config file- d3d12_allow_variable_refresh_rate_and_tearing = false Now it really is buttery smooth Very helpful video, much appreciated!
for how much a shady cunning crook rockstar is if they remake rdr for next gen i would absolutely buy it at retail price cause it's that's good and im embarrassed to even say it. rdr needs a remake for next gen including pc, its such a shame cause it will sell like hot cakes

Thanks for the tutorial - game works great now. Except for some reasons main character keeps holding his revolver from the very beginning ... and every action cause shooting. Really, really weird... no other games or emulators cause this. I might to try and set up keyboard+mouse controls instead later. I've missed my chance to play RDR when I had my old X360, but was forced to sell it and never returned to playing on consoles. edit - fixed it by picking option to switch LB with LT and vice versa - RB with RT. Now it's time for an adventure I've been waiting for a decade!
Xbox 360 emulation requires much more powerful hardware than Nintendo Switch emulation. I would, therefore, be more interested to see a Yuzu or Ryujinx guide as that would be able to run using an APU like the 5600g (no GPU basically)
try run 60 fps on yuzu it is not happening brodie, yuzu and ryujinx are both horrible tbh and the emulators for Nintendo switch are poor, xbox emulators are much better
Depends on your hardware really, in my case Xenia was no more demanding to run at 4K than Ryujinx and Yuzu 4K. I'm more worried about games have no music, distorted stuttering audio and frame rate or it simply gives out "Graphics Device lost" error on games that do run well. Right now, it's GTA IV for me that kept giving me that error and it's a shame since the game runs rather smooth at 4K and when I did fixed that error using Vulkan backend the game runs worse like its frames' stutters really badly.
On a very mid-range rig I get 60fps on Xenia, but there are graphical issues. I only get 30fps on Yuzu, but graphical issues are much less. Ryujinx it was a nightmare, unplayable
@@iknowmeFYI 30 fps that you got in yuzu is because the fps limitation, you can unlock your fps in yuzu fyi by pressing ctrl+u, so maybe if you dont know yet you could try check it out and compare their actual performance and let me know which do better, cause im still struggling deciding the right emulator to play this game🙃🙃
yoo i'm probably a little late to this but i've recently set this up and got it running. The game performs great but I'm having issues with lights flickering and I'm not sure what settings i could change to remove the issue or reduce it atleast. Edit: i had to disable the 60 fps option in the patch file. works great now!
How did you get there folders Cache and content you made that up or something because it's not there in the video and where did you get the red dead redemption game if you only have it in a notebook sorry if it sounded a bit gross, I've watched about 30 videos with Xenia and I really don't know what to do
Be sure when you launch the game it's in a ISO disc image format. If so, could be just a corrupted ROM game file. This does happen and need to find a new one.
I think for the 360 version, goty was split in 2 discs, disc 1 being vanilla red dead and disc 2 being undead nightmare. You need iso files for both discs in order to do play both I was also confused by this initially since I remember the ps3 version having only 1 disc but I think the 360 did come in 2 so thats how you have to do it
Can you possibly post the file name of the iso for the goty version so I know exactly what to look for…there’s some repacks and stuff that idk will work. Also which value should be changed to what for 4k rendering? Thanks!

Turn off the V-sync in the emulator, then turn it on through Nvidia control panel *(or AMD equivalent)* That should fix the lagging, as the V-sync in Xenia is very buggy.
@@arielshemesh4015 Because your PC isn't powerful enough. You can expect it to be 4k if your PC is powerful enough. You aren't really playing a XBOX 360 you are playing a XBOX 360 game that is being simulated by your PC and that takes good hardware. Acually the older the game the better it runs in 4k when it comes to emulation, its the newer games that you can't expect to emulate in 4k or at all.
Funny fact, but I had it installed and it was running kinda fine on win10, but at that point I had a shitty controller for like $20 that I couldn't work properly in rdr1. Now I have a.. well, fine conroller, that runs good in any game... And win11. Now rdr1 stutters completely in xenia. Doesn't seem to happen to other users though. :)

It's code doesn't support windows. It's spegati code and they can't change anything to make it tun on windows

You have to download the ROM through the internet. RDR1 Xbox360 rom (.iso i think)

When you download a ROM file the disc image file will be in the folder. Just need to extracted with 7zip or WinRAR

@olekweenie449 If you want to change the resolution, scroll 3:04 to the Draw Resolution Scale and change the X and Y value *(2 =1440p 3 = 4K)*

Haven't tried Ryjinx yet, but your rig should be more than enough to run it 💯
Read dead Ryjinx resently got better but it Xenia is still the way to go. You can try both but Xenia will give you a more stable 60fps

Not at all, it's recommended to turn it off in Xenia because it causes stutter. But if you turn on V-sync through Nvidia it's much more stable.

I got the game running but its hella stuttery when you enter the boat cutscene, i have a ryzen 5 3500 and a gtx 1650 ddr6, lemme know the fix
Turn off V-Sync in the 7:49 emulator, that causes most of the stuttering. Then turn it on using Nvidia control panel 8:28
