Abstract Data Types (ADT): A mathematical description of data components and operations allowed.
Data type: Tells us the rules allowed. Like you can subtract an int type but not a String type. Thus it describes the behavior.
Abstract: Tells us that it is a concept, i.e. different data structures can be implemented which follow the rules and accomplish the desired behavior for that ADT.

An abstract data type (adt) is a mechanism where we are irrespective of how knowing how it works((inside mechanism) but willingly we have to know what operations it does
for eg:
working of fan ,when we ON the button ,the fan starts working and we are irrespective of know how its internally works !!!!!
and also an abstract is a word which means hidden from real world
