I do like that it seems there is no real "antagonist" this time, Kage seems like a chill dude with a little twisted past. But not to harm Akina. Looks like its just a nice competition with Fighters who have different reasons to play. Kind of reminds me of yuyu when he won his fights to challenge Raika again and he fought many different people. I am looking forward to the answer Akina will arrive in the end. Still hoping we at least get to see a short interaction between Akina and Yuyu towards the end, maybe he gives him a hint or advice.
Yeah... The logic behind this one is INSANE tho, since the gate can search generic card and leave all the trigger later. Even I don't play Vanguard, I can imagine how broken this deck is 😂

Attacks from Rearguards are often depicted as “extensions” of the Vanguard, and Guarding doesn’t show the units being used to guard with, save some cases. After all, part of the game is about “imagining” how the battle is playing out, so it’s easier for the viewers to visualise how it plays/played out with a few prompts here and there, rather than drag it out into the next episode.
His skills don't feel OP, but that self-assured and very consistent play feels very strong. He hasn't revealed everything he has yet, but you can already feel he has strong depth. That question that can kill a person... feels like he hasn't found his own answer yet.

First off I like the interaction between Hikari and Erika, it's still awkward to see these two In the same timeline but I like how both of them were in sync the moment they heard their big brother is fighting. Now for the cardfight, first off I like how as more cardfights are shown the characters get more technical in what their decks do like Kagetsu (like Michiru back in Will+dress) addressing how Rezael's ability suits the Miracles in it's name, and then there's Keeper of the Moon Gate Veissrugr. The ability to stack cards in the moon gate in the order zone as much as possible (Nordlinger wishing she had this ability) increasing trigger checks not to mention it can call one, 4 attacks, the ability to increase the power and shield of his units also adding cards back to the deck to avoid deck out this deck is definitely strong on offense and defense. I also noticed as of writing this is that as of right now, Kagetsu's deck (I assume) consists of: 16 - Ravnorowg (he said that you can have 16 in the deck so I have to assume he does have 16). 3 - Veissrugr for persona 4 - "Wolfszahn" Roztnir 4 - of the Normal order he used 1 - Moon Gate set Order 4 - Sentinels 4 - Cards consist of the Rideline 16 - Triggers Making it a 52 card deck, with two cards that were not seen, of course I could be wrong about the numbers. After the fight when Kagetsu asks Akina what is vanguard to him and he doesn't answer his eyes suddenly just feel dead, and then he has a moment where he pondered on why he said that, made me think of two things. 1. Just like Erika in the past he hates the concept of Miracles or he was just reminded of painful memories after saying that. 2. The reason he retired from Vanguard is because something happened to a loved one (probably the one who said those same words). He's still a mystery for now but I feel like he had a rough time. And of course we have a moment of what Vanguard is to Akina, and how this season is about learning what Vanguard is to him, basic plot for now but knowing how they handled the plot twist back in S2, I'm excited to see where this series is going. Next is Gui VS Mirei it looks like and you bet I'm rooting for best girl(for me at least) Mirei and I'm excited to see how the tournament plays and excited to see the new Bavsargra in action.
Where you getting your numbers from? It's not a 52 card deck. You dont include the ride line as part of the main deck lol. His deck shows currently 48 cards.
@cybermainstream I stated "(I assumed)" in my comment meaning that the numbers are not 100% that this was his deck at the time I just went by what Kagetsu said in the episode and the cards he had used during the cardfight, also when I say deck I include both ride deck and main deck in the numbers which gave a total number of 52 card deck.

And I do like that this time around we're exploring Akina's self discovery. His reasons and his wishes for playing Vanguard have all been fulfilled and so now his gonna find another reason. In some ways this kinda mirrors his struggles in s2, where mini Hikari is asking what's his own wish. Next episode Mirei vs Gui the 2 past antagonist from the Dress series now found redemption. We're definitely starting this off strong.
Well I think Kage here must be a lot like Akina and why he asked him a question he seem to loathe at. There 2 sides of the same coin both in fight and personality. And why he couldn’t control himself and was pondering his actions
I feel like maybe Kage must have heard those words same words and that’s why he disappeared and then found joy in it while mentoring Nao and he wanted to see if Akins would feel the same feeling he did
How about nao inabe vs michiru They are past Antagonist too Or maybe nao vs raika, the fight will be interesting because Ketter sanctuary and Dragon empire are rival nation.
Another great episode and I'm really curious the motivations and how Akina will respond later on. It's also kind of interesting the dynamic of the hero that saved the world now has to live a daily life and not knowing what their purpose is now.
I love when characters have more than one iconic card, in this case Akina with that Mysthisch. Yakumo deck is interesting and finally we have a main "antagonist" using Brand Gate. Only I felt a little bit disappointing because I wanted a Robots tematic, but it is not a real problem xd.
Before the fight starts, the crowd is mega excited... for no conceivable reason, as they are going to see a duel between two random nobodies that no one in the crow heard of.
note: kagetsu is regarded as strong or even stronger than michiru, even michiru himself acknowledged this. as for akina because of him card fighting, he can be regarded as a strong fighter

Basically right now, Akina faced the same problem like Judai in GX after season 3. The game that supossed to be fun, but by overcoming so much life threatening situations, it no longer seems fun to you. If they really want to create kinda situation like Yugi vs Judai Graduation duel, then it is possible that Yuyu will return for that task.
Watching the ending song, i cant help but be sad for erika. She lost her brother and has to live in a world where her brother technically is still alive but is not really her brother since smol hikari exists

@@jamesluong5299 honorable mention to mikoto getting to basically cameo in the ending. the ending remembering "right... she and erika/future hikari would have still been friends in the first timeline (online friends), as that time (present) hikari and mikoto got to hang out in real life was only possible thanks to Akina asking Taizou for a ride to Nao's tournament i would love to see Erika personally hanging out with Suo in a now calm and no stakes environment (given in the first timeline, Suo winning was basically the end of her life as she knew it)

1) Deck thins efficiently, 2) Can reach high numbers, 3) Can 1v3 front row, 4) Can Multi-Attack, 5) Can guard decently despite running multiples. Call it a boring build or straight forward playstyle, but its a decent and effective deck to play!
So the theme still plays the same thing when starting a Cardfight. I thought the destined showdown was over. The theme I was thinking it would play would be the first deluxe tournament.

I have no idea who’s going to be victorious but I am extremely obsessed with Mirei ever since her introduction and it has been a long gap since her last appearance, it will be interesting to seeing how the battle styles of the returning characters have evolved since then and how the decks of the newly introduced characters will have to offer because you never really know what to expect from a competitive scene and I always love seeing a lunar/nighttime setting and I was waiting to see how the ending would sound for the third season and personally, I am obsessed and addicted to it a lot, wow!!! 😮!!! #Cardfightvanguard

The original reason Akina played it was because Gab asked him to put it in his deck for the fight against Syblit, and the card itself was granted a new power in response to that wish Since his last wish was for Erica to live, Akina probably thought it would be better for her to have it TD;DR He didnt play Gabwelius because he doesnt have it
When i first saw Veissrugr I really thought his gonna be as threatening field control as Glandious but apparantly no, this guy is just Orfist but with actual units instead of Tokens, no the note 4 attacks with 4K+ power each is actually quite heavy

I'm guessing they're saving Yuyu for next season. That's what they did with Aichi back in G. Q4 and AL3 comes back before Aichi

Another great episode and I'm really curious the motivations and how Akina will respond later on. It's also kind of interesting the dynamic of the hero that saved the world now has to live a daily life and not knowing what their purpose is now.

Yakumo deck is interesting and finally we have a main "antagonist" using Brand Gate. Only I felt a little bit disappointing because I wanted a Robots tematic, but it is not a real problem xd.
Before the fight starts, the crowd is mega excited... for no conceivable reason, as they are going to see a duel between two random nobodies that no one in the crow heard of.
note: kagetsu is regarded as strong or even stronger than michiru, even michiru himself acknowledged this. as for akina because of him card fighting, he can be regarded as a strong fighter

Basically right now, Akina faced the same problem like Judai in GX after season 3. The game that supossed to be fun, but by overcoming so much life threatening situations, it no longer seems fun to you.

the ending remembering "right... she and erika/future hikari would have still been friends in the first timeline (online friends), as that time (present) hikari and mikoto got to hang out in real life was only possible thanks to Akina asking Taizou for a ride to Nao's tournament
i would love to see Erika personally hanging out with Suo in a now calm and no stakes environment (given in the first timeline, Suo winning was basically the end of her life as she knew it)

But other than akina and taizo nobody else really care for care for her. but i imagine after there fight erika and nao will grow closer "she even might be her second apprentice 😉, although i guess she'll have to fight taizo for that role". mikoto would probably help her with self identity since she understand what it like not knowing who you are. and kyhoma maybe filling the roles that taizo can't, but also helping her fine a path for herself bringing out her potential. even that not the case with taizo investing much time into erika and being his right hand will also probably be investing time into her and grow to care for her as a friend!

I have no idea who’s going to be victorious but I am extremely obsessed with Mirei ever since her introduction and it has been a long gap since her last appearance, it will be interesting to seeing how the battle styles of the returning characters have evolved since then and how the decks of the newly introduced characters will have to offer because you never really know what to expect from a competitive scene and I always love seeing a lunar/nighttime setting and I was waiting to see how the ending would sound for the third season and personally, I am obsessed and addicted to it a lot, wow!!! 😮!!!

I get that Gabwelius is now inside Erika. But Gabwelius' card that Akina had was from Nao right? I'm just curious why there's no trace of it in the recent episodes. Would Gabwelius show up in Akina's deck in the future? I can't wait for the next episodes! I'm also excited to see what the new Bavsagra can do since it's the first deck that I picked up in the D format when I started playing vanguard. I really hope that it's a good one.
Mostly like it has or will be given to Erika by Akina. No better present or wielder of gab and will probably be shown in Erika fight against nao be the perfect card for her to use against it former wielder Akina master and someone who care just as much for Akina
The original reason Akina played it was because Gab asked him to put it in his deck for the fight against Syblit, and the card itself was granted a new power in response to that wish
Since his last wish was for Erica to live, Akina probably thought it would be better for her to have it
