Guys, it's really not about what move is hidden within the form. It's about how the form builds the body, and in what ranges of motions and joints the form builds the strength. The "applications" are just something supported by the proper strength and conditioning learned through the forms. Don't focus on the finger.
It's that same form. Sometimes the boxing form is called Arhat Boxing, but it is commonly called Louhan Quan, Monk Fist Boxing. I'm still trying to do some research on this Quan.
@mancholo WOW you're absolutely right. I am more knowledgeable about the Taizu Chang Quan. But the similarities are quite abundant, I am amazed at what brilliance has come out of the human mind. Think about developing this, or any form, for that matter... Amitofo
after the "three drunken steps":38 there is a whole sequence of grabs and strikes, turning around and striking in different directions while going the opposite way. :40 this section is not in deyang's form, decheng's form, nor xingxue's either. these are the three version i've learned. they differ a lot. but none have these moves. there isnt even the downward block in xiebu before the kick going into "sleeping arhat". which is in all of them.
hey...good point. i agree with u. its about how the form builds the body. no matter how deadly the technique is...its kinda useless without the proper skill to execute it. just my opinion.
you've managed to say little with so many words. i wasnt talking about prc wushu. i'm talking about shaolin. this is not the traditional way to do this form. modernizing a form doesnt mean you need flips. its not modernized martial arts (prc wushu), its modernized shaolin, meaning movements changed to look cooler and move faster. big difference.
tell you something, these forms are almost always "marked". meaning they add something or change something so they know where you learned and to not show the real technique. a perfect example of this is the form posted by jingwuman called "shaolin luohan quan" by shi yanzi. its completely jumbled on purpose. thats shi yongxin's move. yanzi did it. as his disciple. and also as his disciples shi guolin's school does it. its not hard to see.
Amituofo bud or "Amitabha", so accidentally not rude to someone, or your higher Consciousness. Reason's for saying it three times. just like prayer for Christians. You may say it once too, if you wish. just enlightening you in the traditional aspect's of it, for inner self development. Gracias por tanta sabiduría
It is about time somebody understands that it has a pinch of traditional style and modernized style.
Thanks very much, going to look it up now!

Arhat Boxing is very graceful and so fluid.
I think it's good that they modyfing this fomr, it shows that kung-fu is not a dead art.
This was performed by Shi Hengxin.
-Sincerely, a former student of Shaolin Overseas Headquarters
Hmmm....I'm still learning the Hei Hu Quan. I'd very much like to see someone fight in the Black tiger fist style.

Agreed. It is obvious to anyone wo has trained directly under a Shaolin Master.
@UchihABitachi wasnt shi hengxin originally from the henan temple
@SoundwaveSuperior373
Yes. Shi Guolin and his disciple Shi Heng Xin moved to America to try to spread shaolin kungfu and buddhism.

what does arhat mean?
Arhat is an enlighten person. Chineses called them Luohans.
His forms and Shi Yan Ming's form were traditional and modernized. You also spelled Deyang wrong. His full name is Shi De Yang.
luohan108-
its a safe bet that you've never trained with master deyang. 'his' version is not the same as this at all.
completely modernized, but well done.
