Most prominent example being when the one anime girl is dancing around all cute and it's so move and then she's decapitated by a bulllet
Especially when people react like they dont recognise it,, thats a Strong indicator that it moved Far away from being something cutesy lol

this whole series is just a way to show that animating directors are super important no matter how talented the artists involved are
I mean... yeah? If you have no clue what the animation is supposed to be and you're given a random frame ofc that's not gonna become anything coherent. You don't need a video series to showcase that, that's just kinda implied
I love these. They also make starting 2D animation seem accessible. As long as I can practice just normal art and anatomy, it doesn't seem too bad to step it up even at like a 7fps animation or something.
Totally! Seeing good stuff come out of this makes it seem a lot less intimidating to start myself.
And after you get started, there are many videos on TH-cam where you can learn animation tips and aspects of animation to grow from there. You'll never be ready for everything at once, but you could always take it one step at a time.
Oh no not again I'm about to start trying to animate without art skills
Plus, watching these alone get you started on topics to learn by hinting at selling the weight of action, matching drawing style, anticipation, squash and stretch, and how hard walk cycles really are.

It's not really the same thing tho, Drawful doesn't let you be as creative with the ideas iirc
unfortunately its only like a 2 frame animation
The best thing about this is that even when the context for the image is lost, things like smoke or fire or liquid effects still get carried out flawlessly

I will be using these videos as a prime source in my animation collage thesis in why frame to frame is absolutely viable for character animation
It doesn't just take a drawing/animation ability but one needs a little bit of improvisational skills, too. And the whole crew is there. Comedic timing, thoughts, the "stories" they build, it's all just so fun.

I abolutely love how the old man at 17:33 has so much character with just that animation hahahah. It's almost like something you would see at the opening of an anime where he's the mean looking side character but he actually becomes the comic relief.
It’s exciting to see professionals play this. Awesome animations! Even when someone makes a mistake it turns out ok or sometimes better than intended!

I'm loving the mario kart music in these because I usually play mario kart 8 deluxe while I watch videos since I'm learning to speedrun so it's perfect.
