Now that's a BIG fair. Kind of like the State Fairs we have in the States. The best ones are Wisconsin (occurs in the Summer), Texas (Fall), and Florida (February), Unlike Amusement/ theme parks in the States, State fairs have a lot of .....'undesirable' people..especially Florida. It’s absolutely brilliant it’s my hometown fair every year it’s on exact same time in October unfortunately recently because of Covid it hasn’t but it’s brilliant gets very very busy tho 😂

Good vid mate. FYI M&Ds have 3 Giant Wheels The one in this video is a Bussink model which they acquired in 2015. The one from Nottingham is a Fabbri model new in 2003 and the third is another Bussink Model new in 1995 and that is the park one. I think it only leaves the park at Christmas time now and goes to Glasgow city centre. You didn't try my all time favourite ride King Loops lol. Again its an ex m&Ds machine now owned by the Wesley family.
i live in hull, like a 10 minute walk from my house to there and on the night when its night u can still hear the rides and people and see the stobe lights. its the best time
Great Vlog !! The first Star Flyer you saw (Sky Swing) went to Goose the week before, came here on the day after your visit to Goose on Sunday. It's owned by Darren Matthews who also owns the Crazy Mouse. Both go to Stoke Winter Wonderland.

I'm sure there was something about the ferris wheel in Nottingham Goose Fair a few years back ..... The fair ended , they cleared the park but the wheel just sat there , dormant ..... This would have been about 2000....
I was in Hull on the 13th too, never been to the fair though but always wanted too so may do next year. Hope you enjoyed York maze too, never been brave enough to go! 😂
Andy i cannot believe you missed the best twist in the country the Cyclone as you are going round as normal ones this one lifts you up off the floor you were looking at it but you didn't wait to see it go round i thought if you see it you would go on it

Hull Fair is always about the night time . Great vlog but like going to a night club at opening time. The day time is when parents take younger children . The atmosphere is immense at night . The early 90's had hundreds of kids dancing all around . Unfortunately the floor collapsed and someone got badly injured. Hull City council banned Albert Evans from the Fair for 27 years . They've only just been allowed to operate. The ride you went on after Evans has been to the Fair for 2 years now . This type of ride has not been to the Fair for years but the design is at least 35 years old . The original at the Fair was operated by Crow's and was called 'Tip top' . It remained at the Fair for years. Nice to see it back at the Fair but it was here 35 years ago believe it or not .
Sorry but I am a self confessed geek when it comes to Hull Fair . Just watched a video on the Exciter . It seems the position of the carriage is controlled hydraulically via computer of course. The position of the carriage on the original 'Tip top' was controlled by good old fashioned centrifugal force and gravity with the aid of grease and bearings . As the ride reached the low point the carriage quite violently but fantastically swung outwards before climbing back in to the air . One of the high points of the ride . Seems this has been lost in the new and improved control . I will have to ride the exciter next year . Hopefully by then , my son will be tall enough !
I did Richmonds lazer blazer waltzer (44:27) first thing. I definitely regret that and I was on the midnight express for 10 mins forward and back. Me and my friend left by doing 14 rides each 🤢
This event looks amazing. so many Fair rides they even have Danters Air I would like this ride to come down to surrey or the south coast one day? One day I would like to go to this event and is this event very expensive?

Kieran Robison123 not sure as Hoppings is the only one I’ve not been too yet but I would say Hoppings from pictures I’ve seen but apparently Hull is the biggest, it just didn’t seem as big as others like Goose and Winter Wonderland in London

You will have to come back next year . You seem like a switched on guy when it comes to rides in general but you have done it all wrong mate . let's meet up next year and do it at NIGHT. BTW you always have to go the first Friday or Saturday and the again any night between Monday and Saturday . The reason is Hull Fair always closes on Sunday . On this day some rides are taken down and new rides put up . As kids we would always bike to fair to get a free ride as they tested them and to try to find money on the floor dropped by previous riders 😆
All I know is that they are taking their time with it, it has been well over 2yrs now and it’s becoming a joke, why ask us if we wanna leave or stay and then leave us hanging for so long, just get on with it

Ive been to hull fair every year since i was little and now me and most of my friends dont like it anymore but it is still a good place to vist

Because of how big it is it can tend to be quite expensive on average if you go for one night you’ll spend about £100 to about £150 🙂
