Sweet. I just got the 801D and never thought to make it portable wow.

Great what you did with the battery. I guess in a shop like that you can just plug it though anyway. However these units already come with a foot pedal that work with them, so I am not sure why you had to make the foot pedal.

I modified it to be remote, so no wire ;)

Can you detail what you did to make it compatible with the makita battery? I would love to do the same with mine. Thanks!

There's another video on my channel where I explain that :) it's basically a small step down converter inside the case, and a makita battery holder on the outside.

Hello. For stepdown, do I designate it as 15v?
What voltage range does the spotter support? Do I have to keep 15v?

Hi, yes just set it to 15v. you can also use a usb-c PD decoy board with 15v output if you want usb-C.

7:12 hello, what thickness of this nickel strip? Do this machine can handle a 0.2x10mm pure nickel easily?

That's what I'm using in the video, at 40% power it can weld it fine.

      th-cam.com/video/u-Ln39pwxr0/w-d-xo.html Made a video answering these questions. I welded 0.3mm ( 2x0.15mm ) with it.

@@somedude9386how hard do you press the welding pens? The welding pens have springs, do you press them up to the point when it starts compressing the pens springs or you use lighter pressure? I found with lighter pressure it has better adhesion but the weld spot is smaller and it can also burn hole if the pressure is lighter.

You should invest in a power srew driver 😂

Will go check this weekend, but from the outside it looks like a Chinese boostcap ultra capacitor

@@kor_nellione Thanks, I live in a really small place so not having wires was kind of a necessity :) There's a heavy metal block that is in the base that you can remove to put electronics in there.

@@diybatterytech interesting, would this 801h weld nickel plated cooper 0.3 thickness, like in dewalt batteries

@@kor_nellione currently out of my appartment, but will check this evening. the specs say it should be able to, and from what i've seen it can so easily weld 0.2 that it should be able to.

How to remove the iron attached to the plastic?

    • @somedude9386
      @somedude9386 ปีที่แล้ว

Use a heat gun carefully ( don't overheat the plastic ) or place the plastic bottom part on a radiator. Then use a screwdriver to pry loose the metal from the plastic.
