What i love about yhe Barto crew is that they genuinely dont know what thwyre doing out on sea, so when things start going bad (like everyone gettign sea sick, or bad storms), they call One of the Crew Members' grandma for advice
I love how Law does his best to not get roped into the Strawhats antics, it sort of backfires though since it feels like he gets along with Zoro anyway. Mr "I will die alongside Luffy" Surgeon of Death.
I had no recollection of that 🤮, Oda is too good at portraying all the most screwed up, disgusting parts of chattel slavery for how cheery and lighthearted OP can tend to be. Like, for an author who will actively avoid letting characters have narratively earned deaths (despite suffering overwhelming mortal injury) JUST because it leaves a sour taste in his mouth...its odd that he will full stop just show you a family getting permanently ripped apart by slavers in a brutally realistic way. Oda has zero chill and nearly zero filter when it comes to how awful he wants to portray Celestial Dragons as. It really tells you how important that narrative cord is to Oda. That aside, its also gonna be fun when Queen realizes she's met one or two minks already
@@GutsDLuffy yeah it is true that op has some dark themes but i think people say it is for kids because of how they deal with such dark themes, op just straight up tells u these people are bad and evil without trying to introduce some kind of a moral dilemma. personally i don't mind this approach because it fits op story and writing but i understand why people don't like it
@Yazeed242 My view differs slightly. I don't think that presenting a character as objectively evil to your audience means the morality of your fictional work in regards to that character is uncomplicated. Take even the Celestial Dragons. Oda has made them just drip with malice and evil and bigotry. They're made to be hated by the audience. But Oda has also effectively illustrated how much their screwed up worldview is a product of the society they grow up isolated within and how extraordinarily rare it is for somebody raised in that society to have an honest change of heart. I think, for example, it was a pretty morally complex move to present Donquixote Homing as a fool. He made a conscious decision to intentionally remove his family from that environment because he recognized it was wrong, but doing that when he did basically assured they'd be ratted out to people who would pogrom them out of furious retribution
5:47 It's funny that Zou means elephant so people that speak Japanese kinda had a hint to what the next Island was going to be about. 😂 3:17 Ayooo!!! Wait a minute!!!? I forgot about that!!!!! Ok no spoilers here.... 🤔😳🤐 Fun-fact the first mention of minks was back in Sabaody when Kamie was kidnapped and they were all heading to the auction house. Sanji was going over a list with Duvall A side note on Buggy. He can't be cut so that includes his hair. 15:04 this is actually a bit of filler to add some more length to the episode so it's fine. 15:51 Ryunosuke is and always will be a good boy ❤
I get the impression the part where Zorro and Law say "I don't get it, It's just a bad drawing" in response to people crying is a meta commentary on how non-one-piece fans view one piece fans. People crying over "bad" drawings.
"Sanji-kun is..." ITS TIME! ITS TIME! GLORIOUS DAY! FABULOUS DAY! FRABULOUS DAY! WHO'S READY FOR DRAMA!? WHO'S READY FOR TRAUMA!? As only THEY can deliver unto a person's life. I'm so excited. So excited. Make way, here it comes. Ring bells, bang the drums. Oh I just love this arc!
If you're wondering about Buggy's new size, he's just wearing really baggy clothes and having his body parts floating to fill the clothes out (mostly his head and hands). Gotta love Robin's little gag of being obsessed with cute things (like Chopper) and bringing up the most morbid shit she can think of, with a straight face. Ryunosuke! You can think of Zou as being close to Water 7 in length. So, *definitely* not the 118 episode length of Dressrosa (good god, it really was that long?). And it's probably not surprising, but apparently a *lot* of people have a "carrot" for Carrot.
Oh my what happened to Sanji?, the suspense is terrible. Missed the live stream but hopefully it was a fun time. Zou is much...much shorter than Dressrosa, but still very fun. Things are moving in the world, and the world is moving (literally we're on an elephant!). Gotta appreciate the world building and story. Thanks for the video.
Yes! Yes that's why Luffy liked Zoro. Because Luffy is such a good judge of character he could tell Zoro wasn't bad because of that small interaction. It's so freaking sweet. I love them, Luffy and Zoro best friends!
BUCKIN ROCKS. She ROCKS like Whitebeard and several others including Shiki the Golden Lion, Granny Nyon, and the late then shadow undead then re-dead Captain John last seen at Thriller Bark and several of his Zombie General compatriots. Fun fact, in an SBS/Q&A Oda revealed that Whitebeard likes his nurses to wear leopard print stockings.
Being caught up and up to date in the manga, I can safely say that, so far, Zou has to be my favorite island that we have visited, it's so unique! and Spoilers below (not safe for anime onlies) Having read the latest chapter, the beginning of the new arc in the manga is so very reminiscent of the beginning of Zou, given how confusing it is on top of the mysteries surrounding the place and the events that led up to that point. Outside of Thriller Bark or Punk Hazard, I don't believe any arcs are able to capture that feeling of confusion and wonder quite like Zou or the newest arc in the manga, so I find it funny that this upload coincided with the unofficial release of the latest chapter
Did some quick maffs for the Zou elephant, going by it's stated height of 35km (2/3 of it being legs) I scaled off a 4m tall at the shoulder elephant at 8 tons. Zou would weigh in somewhere in the region of 250 to 300 billion metric tons. That's just the weight of the Zou we see above the water, most of it's height is comprised of it's legs which would be even more weight, so probably in the ballpark of 400-500 billion tons. Big elephant.
Hell yeah I will join on twitch when I can. It will be straight up nostalgic to me lol. I've legit achieved the gliche of "living like 5 different lifes" since the last non One Piece related stream you've done :D. I suggest a short video called "Tonnin seteli". You'll remember it xdd.
25:44 the way Wanda says that, for them, humans are hairless monkey minks, it reminds me of how some animals really think like that. Like, dogs do see us as some sort of divinity to follow, but cats, they see us as a species of tall and weird cats.
Way back then when Luffy went to meet Zoro, he told Coby he wanted to see if this dangerous "pirate hunter" guy was a good person. (Coby seemed to assume he was a monster from the start.) When Zoro ate the ruined onigiri and appreciated it, Luffy found his answer. 💜 I feel you, but if Nami finished the sentence you just know they would go the vaguest possible way and it would sound even worse than what actually happened. 😂
"The Suspense is Terrible!" (i hope it will last.) ha ha ha! yeah, Cliff D Hanger strikes again, that sneaky bastard. welcome to Zou, home of the Minks. they were obviously just being on high alert after being invaded by Jack The Draught, Usopp as usual letting his mind only think in negatives. also since you havent caught on, "The Corpse Of Your Friend" is obviously Brook, as he is a Corpse, "Yo Ho Ho Ho Ho!" that being said, Sanji is WHAT?? this doesnt bode well at all, guess we'll have to continue to find out more. P.S. Thank You, Ryunosuke. you got the Straw Hats up there.
NGL G6 is the only filler arc worth anything at all in one piece. Its just straight up one of the better arcs in the series and I have no idea how the writers who made every other filler arc managed to make that one
the climb up Zou is so much more chaotic the second time watching it 😂 I also relate to Robin’s internal monologues. Ryunosuke was adorable and such a trooper for how poorly he was drawn. 🥲🙃 This is a good & short arc! I’m excited to watch it again :) my eyes filled with tears at the little reunion part for many reasons. thanks for getting this out so fast 🩵

Robin was right, that's so cute!😊
I thought it was Usopp's VA because I sounded so similar. That's interesting.

Gotta love how Robin has become so much more open with her feelings since the timeskip.
Zou isn't a long arc, but it is fun.
True, but if you notice she started getting more expressive after Ennies Lobby. But she definitely took it up a notch after timeskip.
There's something so meta about Zoro and Law saying "it's just a dumb drawing" in a manga and/or anime which we have all cried over repeatedly
What i love about yhe Barto crew is that they genuinely dont know what thwyre doing out on sea, so when things start going bad (like everyone gettign sea sick, or bad storms), they call One of the Crew Members' grandma for advice
