Another interesting thing about this show is that it was one of the last times we would see Big Show with long hair. It might've been the next night on Raw or the week after when he got his hair cut and actually looked like a giant Buff Bagwell for a bit.
That Triple H vs. Cactus Jack match is still to this day my favorite championship match of all time. It also legitimately made me a fan of Triple H for life.
Fucking love this show. Favorite show in WWE history. I wasn't even born at this time but I love the rumble match, the WWE Title match is in my top 5 favorite matches. Love the tag table match and the Taz debut. Loved the crowd and the set as well.
I really enjoy this show and mirror all of your opinions as well. The street fight is still so good to watch now and the tag team tables match is so chaotic and fun. I also love MSG too, the arena always looks great. I especially love Summer Slam 98 from there.
Fact: Cactus Jack defeated Triple H who was then known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley in a similar kind of match to this but it was falls counting anywhere on Raw 3 years earlier in 97 in MSG as he delivered a piledriver to Hunter through the table on the stage then pinning him for the 1 2 3. Triple H defeating Cactus Jack here kind of brings everything full circle in a way, he beats him in the same building where he lost but was now the biggest heel in the company and cemented himself as a true main event player. Overall a strong show with some decent matches and moments but the street fight between these two was the standout one for me and the pedigree on the tacks still makes my jaw drop to this day.
The only full PPV event DVD I have in my wrestling video collection is this show Royal Rumble 2000. This show was entertaining from top to bottom. And yes, my favorite match of all time is that amazing street fight between HHH and Cactus Jack. Its the match I rewatched a bunch of times and never get tired of.
Not going to lie am 32. And I never got on to the barbed wire swap. Wow how fucking gullible am I haha. Great review. This was the first PPV event I watched in the UK. I became a huge triple H fan after watching this.

Same. I didn’t like HHH before and was a big Mick Foley fan but yes this won me over too
What's up Greg,. Happy WrestleMania season

They should've given rock the title at WrestleMania because of his losing streak at WrestleMania
Richie williams Exactly what should’ve happened

#FACT
He should have a legit Wrestlemania moment at that time period when Austin was on the shelf
AGREED!!!!
The most dangerous and brutal wwe match i ever saw

Tazz was a WWE Tag Champ with Spike.
I’ve got the original VHS from when I was a kid of Armageddon 99 and even that is uncensored haha WWE didn’t give a fuck back then
GREAT REVIEW GOODMICWORK 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That Tazz debute man. Good memories.
Good review
wrestlemaina 22 mick bought out the tacks but edge landed on them tho instead. only time mick didn't go on the tacks. also the match with orton in 04
Great review greg 👍
I think Royal Rumble 2001 is better than Royal Rumble 2000

Wow 7 ppl in the rumble are deceased for a show that’s not even 20 yrs that’s so sad , fanatical show with being said though
Name those 7 ppl who passed away
@@superlex611 Big Vis, Bossman, Test, Brian Christopher, Bulldog, Chyna, Crash Holly
One of the best PPV ever imo
I miss The Attitude Era also.
X PAC beat Test on an episode of Smackdown to get that number 30 spot.
You're getting old? I was three when this Pay-Per View aired.
I was 24. 👍
@@GoodMicWork I still have a year to go until I get there.

One gotta go?!
Cactus jack vs triple h
Cactus jack vs randy Orton
Mick Foley vs edge
Foley vs Edge. Was completely retconned just a month later before one night stand 2006.
Foley vs Edge
Foley made Triple H a true main event star, without the street fight and hell in a cell Triple H wouldnt have been what he became.
Foley really carried the match
New York are so smarky and xpac was just a participant and by this point he is on his way out and Road Dogg has his last actual year in the company
I believe X-Pac won a multi man match on Smackdown to get the 30 spot
