I'm a bit surprised when the Mister Whipple question came up, Richard Dawson didn't mentioned anything about him being on Hogan's Heroes. Dick Wilson ( Mr.Wipple) played 6 episodes.
the more one watches these matchgame shows the more one is impressed with gene rayborn's skill as a host. his interaction with the panelists, contestants, and audience are what makes the show.
@@donofon101 Strange reason to watch a show you know? Most would have stopped watching by now if they didn't like the show, I would and is probably why I have never watched the newer ver that is currently on tv. I guess the game you like to keep you watching. Believe it or not but Gene was for equal rights for women, blacks, gays and all colors of the rainbow.. He is so tuned in (and patient when needed) to the panelists and tv audience for the time. I only saw clips and thought he was smarmy (but he didn't write em). I was wrong. He's very kind in a hectic, spinning plates job.
@@donofon101 you might be surprised that i agree with you about rayburn's forced sexual advances. the man was married, i don't know how his wife dealt with it, i think they separated once during the show... but the guy was a predator in his own right, i remember one panelist (maybe elaine joyce) giving in and saying out loud, "but no tongue!" my comment about his talent as a host can be separated from his creepiness, also, there was a lot of drinking going on between shows, i'm sure that added to a lot of his "bravado."
The very best answer to the kinky piano player question was a synonym for "inebriated" that starts with the letter "p" and would have been censored immediately. I saw the show with Helen and Gene Rayburn. They are a good match. Both are strong personalities and really enjoy each other's company. The only matched about 50 percent of the time but they seemed to really enjoy each others company. It was a good window into Gene's background.
I think it would be amazing, gallant, and spontenaity funny if a male challenger, asked a female champion which letter she would choose, then he would take the other. 😊🤗
I'm sure she was a swell person, but Brett had the attention span of a fruit fly I think Brett was simply bored when the conversation wasn't about her.

Gene Rayburn has just gotten way too sexual with the female celebrities. He crosses the line over and over again and makes it impossible to watch. He wasn't nearly this bad in the earlier years on this show.
Wow, I was at sea on that rhyming question. Actually, I thought Bobby Van's was the best. But "kissed?" Okay, whatever. Have another drink and a couple more tokes, writers.

Sarah is captivating.
Betty was perfect today, 3 attempts to 3 matches and a match with knuckle head on the audience match with the audience.. ;0)
Charles was hilarious!
That would be great if the two single contestants got together.

Parrot Talks with a stutter an accent a lisp ..
20:34 I can’t tell if Gene and Richard like each other or hate each other🧐
Richard thought Rayburn was "revolting". The comment was made during a "PM" episode.
They worked together a long time. My guess is they were friends maybe not sleep over friends but like office friends.

It's a mystery...evidence for both.
Leave Charles alone, Brett!
They were great friends. This is called banter. Maybe you should watch more and you will see that.
She always had to be the center of attention camera hag(hog)
She has been helping him in the super match.
