God I remember stopping time and getting all the way to the top of the level and coming up 1 coin short of 100. I died trying to find another coin box and my n64 controller was never the same after immediately being thrown into a wall. Good old days...
Highly Agree with you. I've was trying to get all the 100 coins on this stage, and then between failing and failing with some serious bogus gaming stress. I've finally did it while i've was trying to get those Damn 4 coins... Like Shadow would said in the game of his same name. And curiously, i've had 96 coins which was the year the game released, and if you turn it backwards you get that funny number we all know. I've now have all the 120 stars since i've believed the final star in Bowser in The Sky would count. But no. And i've seen that i've still had to collect 100 coins in Tick Tock Clock.

@@g45635g lol probably got replies because of the 3d all stars release The coins are accessible with time frozen, albeit harder to reach. But you can make it all the way to the top with time standing still. I did 5/7 stars last night frozen.

In case you're still curious: move in one direction, then quickly push the joystick in the appropriate opposite direction and simultaneously press A. You have to gather a bit of momentum for it to work. If you watch this video again, you'll see that the player always sets themselves up by moving away from the obstacle they want to side flip up to before performing the move.
You messed a coin box near the spiral before reaching the thowmp in the center. Also is better to wait before the camera move before groundpound the coin block
I feel like the camera in M64 was programmed with less and less effort at the later stages. The camera in wet dry world was awful, but I played that level so much as a kid it didn't take much time to get 7 stars. Here it isn't quite as bad at showing what you need to see, but the angles are NEVER what you want.

man I love the concept of tick tock clock but this level is executed horribly. This 100 coin star in particular is a massive pain in the ass. I love this game but this is one of the worst levels (I'm probably just bad at it though lol). Thanks for the help.
@AnimationAnimater12 The things in the level move at different speeds depending on what time it is on the clock when you jump in it. Everything is perfectly still if you jump in at 4:00.

When I got this one, it was from a 10 coin block and the star was so high in the air he could not reach it with a woo woohoo (double jump) so I had to backflip to get the star.
wow at 2:22 the side jump + wall kick but you can crawl from the side then jump in the cage in the other side it's a lot easier but your way is much more cooler :)
mcalpha3, I focused, got to 95, and then lakitu decided he didn't get enough love as a camera man and caused me to fall into the bottomless pit from near the top.
I got 100 coins at Tick Tock Clock for the first time with the clock stopped. I actually have done it many times with the clock moving and took risks for the red coins.
I found 100 coins while everything was moving, since I can't do the jump at 1:35 because I would definitely fall down and fail and I needed that platform to lift me, but I fuckin did it and it felt good.
@madara i think it depends on the player, i breezed threw tall tall mountain and the rainbow level, but this level and the fire level r very hard 4 me @Joshua good luck, did u get it yet?
Ur able to stop time for the 100 coins? I did it with time going and i dont remember how it was possible. I never would have guessed in a million years to stop time

I would say the wall kick onto the gold triangle is one of the harder moves for this star. When it's not moving it is hard to do.

When I was playing Super Mario 64 many years ago, I found out there are a total of 128 coins to collect in Tick Tock Clock.

2:19, just walk passed the pistons and jump up to get the box. Way easier.
Good tip: Double jump when hitting the boxes. Mario will collect most of the coins as they pop out of the box that way

This star was a pain to get in the orginal. Kinda glad they nerfed it in the DS version by adding more coins and barricading the falling spots.
Even the video was cut and edited at some point. In the real run, it's all over again
that's why I use my emulator "save slots" :D

I haven't tried RR yet, but I thought that THI was the hardest until I figured out that you could get blue coins by ground pounding the Goombas.
