Full coverage as Team GB's Anthony Ogogo takes on Brazil's Esquiva Falcao Florentino in the semi-final of the men's boxing middle 75kg event at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Boxing made its Olympic debut at the 1904 Games in St Louis, since then boxing has been staged at each edition of the Games, except in 1912 in Stockholm, owing to Swedish law, which forbade the practice.
The rules have evolved since the 1980s: 1984 in Los Angeles: protective helmet obligatory; 1992 in Barcelona: set-up of an electronic scoring system to strengthen the objectivity of refereeing; 2007: standardised point scoring. Women's boxing will make its debut at the 2012 London Games in London.

@@ShakShak1999 I meant what happened with his boxing career. An eye issue (blindness) forced him into an early retirement. I am a big fan of Ogogo in AEW. Can't wait for DoN tonight!

Anyone here in 2021? In London 2012, Brazil won several medals in sports which, until that time, were unknown for us and become a passion for us! Such as Arthur Zanetti, in the Gymnastics (Rings Routine), Esquiva Falcão itself in the boxing (Was him our flagbearer in the closing ceremony, where our athletes saw several musical presentations: Queen, Jessie J and the Spice Girls! And the handover to Rio!), and Yane Marques' bronze in the modern pentathlon. We finished 22th in the medal table with a record of 17 medals (3 golds, 5 silvers and 9 bronzes) and we proved that we're prepared for Rio 2016!
Brasil mando muito bem no boxe. Que continue assim para a evolução do esporte no país. Rio 2016!
