More WayPoint Innovation! Thge outside of either cyliner can also be wrapped with cordage and/ot duct tape. Practical & economical. May God continue to bless you!
Thanks for the idea, I was wondering if you could add the two tubs together and make that two cell into a four cell and change the lightbulb. I believe you can do it !!
That was cool. I'm not one who tinkers with electronics, but if you could turn those flashlight heads into little lamps by creating a battery box and switch or use the one on the tubes, that would be really awesome. Those 27 lumen units would be good for lighting up the inside of a tent or small cabin. As a rule, I consider around 75 lumens good to light up a bedroom and anything less is just enough to make one's way to the bathroom or to put a key in a lock, but not enough for walking outside. Anyway, a totally awesome project. That was very clever and creative. You're like Q in the Bond films, but you build low budget gadgets.
Hello James, thank you for sharing the hack ideas. I really appreciate it. Please keep these great ideas coming along. All the best to you and your family. 🤗
Man I love this , great idea !! I like the WP container best 👌 Bought one of these lights and didn't last long , we'll worth buying one of these sets just for one of these projects
Not a bad hack on that knife. Think I'd wrap some cordage around the handle jjust in case you need it. Also stuff some inside of the handle. As far as carrying the other one, wrap some cordage around the bottom, to make a carrying loop.. Maybe wrap cordage around the entire lenght of this one too.
I've been trying to think of a way to use the cheaper lights to do about the same thing but I would have to block off one end, that would make easier for something to get stuck in there. Thanks for sharing.
Great ideas/hacks. I have seen similar flashlights always on sale. Buying two of them would be worth it! I like the protected blade idea. Thanks James!
With the knife having duel sided threads; why not join the two tubes together so the blade is in one side and your mini kit, fishing, fire, trapping, whatever is in the other end below the blade. Now you have a baton also for fending off wild animals.
Great ideas James. To buy an aluminum tube of that size is definitely going to cost more than the $13 ish bucks it takes to make it. Thanks for the idea, now I need to watch for them at the hardware store.
Always enjoy the DIYS from you james. I also love to look for ideas to make things too x2 This kind of reminds me of that other older knife kit that you've showed before.. This is good to remember when you have or find them. I guess you put them all together and create something cool too. I do know of few more things with stuff like this. All the best from CR.
Hey...love your channel! Great idea about the waterproof cache. I just want to add there is a flashlight made by LIFEGEAR, that has a water resistant storage compartment in the handle. The handle twists off from the battery/light section so you can put quite a bit of gear in it. Mine holds a small whistle, button compass, small SAK, one liter whirl pak bag, 4 mp-1 purification tablets, small FAK, 10’ of cordage, one square foot of HD aluminum foil, and four UCO matches with striker. I also found room for a Derma S.E.R.E folding saw! The flashlight uses 3 AAA batteries, which are easy to find. The light is LED and has other functions too...constant LED, constant colored light (I think green, red, yellow, orange) and then strobe! I think the light is good for 200 hours of usage. Wal mart has them for under 7.00. Just another option to look at, but your project is a good one!! No dis intended, just FYI! Thanks and good job!
that is a good idea, but, you can buy a canister that will do the same thing (all ready made) for about as much as you paid for two flashlights, Iwas able to find one on Amazon for ten dollars. You can get a hidaway knife of similar constructionfor about 15 dollars, but in my experience they are NOT durable. It would be better to get a cheap fixed blade knife (with a full tang if you can) and a canister. I found a full tang knife w/sheath on Amazon, for 8 dollars. This would be a better alternative, as it would not require any work or modification, and the knife would be stronger. Great video though.
Love the "cache tube", but love the knife even more . . . I see an additional loadout in that hack - looks like plenty of room on either side of the knife blade (as long as it isn't filled up enough to keep it from rotating) for a ferro rod, some tinder tabs, and some fatwood sticks! Depending on the flashlight handle bore, maybe a bit of scrap pvc tubing that will fit inside, around the blade to capture the tinder options?
These.... really weren't flashlight hacks. 🤷 More like a recycling hack you can do to the battery case of your flashlight if the electronics part is missing or completely destroyed.
Thank you so much for watching the video. Please leave your comments in the comment section below. Have a great week!
This is a great idea for the little aluminum dollar store flashlights that break easily. I use an old one for just such a purpose.
Yes. Thanks for watching!

I am always looking for watertight cylinders like this!
Now I just need to find that flashlight...
👍🏻👍🏻
Yes, I found them at a farm store.
WayPoint Survival
Rural King is selling them online for $9.99 each.
Still a good deal for a lightweight tube that size.
Thanks for the idea.
I got them on sale at Rural King for 5.99 apiece.
Great tips brother.

brilliant idea maybe can you put the two together and make a longer light that lasts longer bless you brother
Yes, you could do that but you would have to grind off one end of the rear cap so they would fit together.
Nice
Thanks!

Awesome. What are the dimensions for the waterproof case?
Interior dimensions are 1 inch by 4.75 inches roughly.

Yes, that would work. Thanks for watching!
You could put the fire stuff in the knife and keep like a little hollow handle knife/ Rambo knife survival kit.
Yes, you could do that.
Sorry I don't like your "hacks".
Easier to just buy what you "need.
Good video.
Keep em coming
Thank you for watching.
You could also make a hobo fishing reel
Very true, good observation!
Blood tracker sounds for cops.
Or for tracking game you've hunted. Thank you for watching!
Could also be used as a "prison wallet".
If you had to. Thank you for watching.
Big dy james tks a lot see you later be fine
Thanks so much!

I like the videos.. but your exuberance at the beginning is mostly comical, and the knife ideas is wretched.
