Whoever installed this opener they actually took their time of what the hell they were doing they did everything correctly that I see so whoever installed it I give them an A+ for it
The idea of an opener on the basement door could be possible. If mounted on the right side, there is a bit of room for the rail bracket to go, and as far as the door arm goes, you could do the thing that nick did with one of the two 8550s and make a metal square for the J arm on the door to connect to the straight arm on the right side. But your choice.
Yknow I gotta say, the one thing I hate about my genie belt drive unit is that it's not smooth at all, it's decently quiet but the door jerks quite a lot
I love the sound of AC belts, especially when disconnected from the door.
I love them, too, they are a bit more reliable than the DC belt or chains
awesome! that 8355 is so quiet! reminds me a lot of my old 3280. great vid!
Thx 👍
@RYSE I agree it does get annoying
@RYSE when they made the myq openers they changed the trolleys from 14 gauge to 16 gauge which is why the new ones rattle so much more
@Master Quality Garage Door Service & Repair LLC hes talking about the 3280 at his old house
That thing is SO QUIET! Thanks god they didn’t reuse the square rail lol. Nice!!
Idk of anyone that would re use a square rail instead of putting on a new t rail
@@TBHD724whoever would do that would be trying to save time

Believe me I'd love to have an opener on that door but they don't use it enough to need one
The Liftmaster 8355W and the Chamberlain Whisper Drive are my favorite operators
8355W sounded better than that chamberlain that was there before you lubed it. LOL. Good video!
@Sameer Kabir no the other chamberlain on that door with the 8355W made a lot of belt noise before it got lubed(
Did they re-use the door arm from the old whisper drive on the 8355?
probably not
cool 8355 and wd832kev
That is my favorite lock on the garage door in the basement
The 8355W sounds like my brother-in-laws 8355W-267
It would have to be a side mount opener if you wanted one
And it would have to be converted to inside hookup

Genie doesnt have the greatest soft stop
@@TBHD724 defiantly, that and on lighter parts of the door it will sped up making it even less smooth.
355W657 and I can tell that it’s not a 657 to the bottom of the cover plates for the lights aren’t white
Nais
7:54 i cant hear the 8355
