@Matt Don This might be a little late, but you're supposed to code it yourself. He didn't show how to code it because the code would have to look quite different depending on how you personally set up your own databse and if you're using MySQL or NoSQl for example. You also don't have to use PHP, you could use something else like NodeJS to query your database instead. If you're completely new to databases, I recomend you have a look at videos that explaing in general how a MySQL and a NoSQL database works, and then choose to use the one that best suits your needs. Then look at a video on how to setup and configure your own database and how to insert, remove, and update entries in the database, as well as how to fetch entries from it (which is the most important part for a search function). After you understand all that, I recommend you to look at videos about the basics of PHP and NodeJS (using the Express framework) before you read documentation that shows you how to query databases via either PHP or NodeJS. If you end up using NodeJS I'd personally recomend the NPM package "mysql2" (for a MySQL database) and if you wish to use async/await, then use the "mysql2/promise" module. Afteer you've done all the above research (which will take a couple hours (which is also probably why he didn't include it in the video since it would make the video hours longer if you are to acutally UNDERSTAND what you're doing, and not just copy-pasting) to do) you can finally write your own script that queries the database and returns the results!
