Awesome ranking as usual!! My first experience with Queensrÿche would be when my mom played Silent Lucidity on the radio, during a road trip. And man…I was hooked immediately! ESPECIALLY the bridge and break down, I was in tranced by it. And off topic, but I love how you respond to every comment! Most metal TH-camrs don’t usually respond to their comments, which sucks for the most part; it would be interesting to see what other TH-camrs would think of their viewers rankings, but it is what it is. Anyways, here’s my top 5! 1) Empire 2) Condition Human 3) Promise Land 4) Operation: Mindcrime 5) Hear In The Now Frontier
I agree , not only is the music fantastic , the story is cool too & told to perfection in those intelligent lyrics ! Nice choice for you #1 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Great show! 👍 14. Dedicated to chaos 13. Tribe 12. OM II 11. American soldier 10. Condition human 9. Hear in the now frontier 8. S/t 2013 7. Q2K 6. The Vedict 5. Promised Land 4. The Warning 3. Rage for order 2. Empire 1. Operation mindcrime 👍
Fantastic list. I was a huge Queensryche fan...they also lost me when they released "Hear in the now Frontier"...another example of a band who changed their sound to sound "current". Promised Land is really really good. .I personally think the whole album is great. Good songs and great production . The tour was excellent. ...I saw them when they played here in Toronto..Type O Negative opened the show (they were supporting Bloody Kisses album). Your top 3 are of course the expected albums...my favorite or #1 is Rage for Order. Incredible album. Great video. Looking forward to you next video. Mark Anthony K Projekt Gemineye
Hey Mark 🤘 That’s cool you got to see them live back then , most of the bands just skip over Saskatchewan lol . Thanks for the kind words , please stop by anytime ! Keep flying that Metal flag out east 🇨🇦 Take care ~ Darcy
My ranking for the Queensryche albums would be🤘 15. Dedicated To Chaos 2011 14. Operation Mindcrime II 2006 13. Digital Noise Alliance 2022 12. The Verdict 2019 11. Condition Human 2015 10. American Soldier 2009 9. Q2K 1999 8. Tribe 2003 7. Hear In The Now Frontier 1997 6. Queensryche 2013 5. Rage For Order 1986 4. The Warning 1984 3. Operation Mindcrime 1988 2. Empire 1990 1. Promised Land 1994
I haven’t listened to Promised Land for a couple years, I’ll put it on this week. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your ranking 🤘 Take care Draven
Love the ranking videos. Wow, didn’t realize there are 14 albums in total. I lost track after Empire but started following again when Todd joined. I think the band was lost for a while after Empire, just not sure what direction to go in and the scene was changing so quickly. Can’t argue with your top 5. I must say my favorite is that original EP,. To this day, Geoff’s singing on that one is one of the best metal performances of all time. Excellent video Darcy.
Hey Billy 👋 When I first heard Geoff on Queen Of The Reich I was like WTF this is unreal ! They definitely lost their way , but I’d still recommend checking out Promised Land , it’s a great album ! Thanks as always 🤘 Stay Metal
Hey Darcy! What's up? Excellent job ranking Queensryche. Personally there would be only 3 differences in my ranking. I would push Soldier above Tribes. I actually enjoyed American Soldier quite a bit. Hear in the Now Frontier was an album I really enjoyed and I would put it ahead of Promise Land. I have constantly listened to Promise Land since it's release and the album never seems to grow on me. However over time the songs Bridge, Damaged the title track and Lady Jane have become my favorites on the album. The only other change would be my number one which is Operation Mindcrime. I got to see them on the Mindcrime tour for the first time tour opening for Metallica on their And Justice for All tour. Queensryche was awesome! They hit the stage with Revolution Calling and they didn't let up! Great stuff! Of course the stuff their doing with Todd is incredible. Human Condition is just fantastic! Darcy please take care and as always my friend stay heavy!!!
Hey David ! Hope everything is going good your way ! When I saw the ... And Justice For All Tour it was The Cult opening , I’m not complaining they were great , but I’d take Queensrÿche any day over them , especially back then ! I do like most of Hear In The Now Frontier , I just find it a little long , I think the could of cut out three tracks easily ! I’m glad your enjoying the newer albums ! Stay Heavy 🤘 Stay Safe 😷
Queensryche is arguably my favorite band. Great list! Mine (including all the Geoff Tate stuff) 18. Dedicated to chaos 17. The new reality 16. Frequency unknown 15. Resurrection 14. Hear in the now frontier 13. American Soldier 12. Q2K 11. The Key 10. Operation Mindcrime 2 9. Tribe 8. Queensryche 2013 7. Condition Hüman 6. The verdict 5. Promised land 4. Empire 3. The warning 2. Rage for Order 1. Operation mindcrime (the greatest album of all time bar none)
Solid list ! Thanks for including the Geoff Tate stuff , I’ve heard a couple songs but not a full album yet ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 absolutely, thanks for pumping out great content! "The Key" is definitely worth a listen, not a perfect album but has 3 or so songs that are actually really good, and make the album worth the view. Cheers from Connecticut!
Promised Land is a good album. Cool to see you had it ranked higher than most fans would. I think it has an intense atmosphere. Its a very moody album, if that makes sense.
Makes perfect sense David , I really like Promised Land a lot , definitely shouldn’t be overlooked ! Thanks for stopping by 🤘 hope you have a great weekend :))
The EP will always be number one for me, just such a spotless record. Not really familiar with the later records of them, but the early stuff like you showed are just high up there. Great video, cheers man 🤘
Awesome ! You just can’t beat those albums can you ! It feels like the ep & The Warning were ahead of there time if you know what I mean , just incredible stuff ! Take care Ronnie 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
Nice ranking. Interesting to see some of the new albums up there, although justifiably I think as their mid period did seem pretty poor. I'll have to check them out more. I did pre guessed your top 4 with warning at no.1. 🤘🤘. They were a great live band as well with Tate, although I'm sure they're still just as good with the new vocalist as well.
I like to guess along with ranking videos too ! The newer albums deserve to be up there , definitely check them out ! Cheers Grant 🍻 Thanks as always , have a great weekend !
awesome ranking 🤘 Queensryche is one of favorite bands. operation mindcrime is my favorite i own it on every format lol (CD, vinyl, cassette, VHS) Great video as always 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 hell yeah! its one of my favorite live albums along with live after death, and live shit: binge & purge from metallica 🤘🤘
Nice Rankings Darcy, Warning has always been my favorite, lost touch with them after Empire, last one in my collection, crazy if you think about it, that was a long time ago, Take Care and Stay Heavy Brother 🤘🤘
I think a lot of people dropped off after Empire & even more when Chris DeGarmo left around ‘98 , I still recommend you checkout their 2 latest albums , not classic but damn good ! Stay Heavy as ever brother 🤘
Great Video bro Queensryche with Todd they did solid albums I hope they continue like that but honestly after Chris Degarmo left they lost the magic .My favorite albums is The Warning & Operation Mindcrime 1988 and I saw the band twice with Todd Latorre killer shows . Take care my friend & stay Metal 🤘
Your right about them losing the magic after Chris left , nice to see them put out some great albums with Todd on vocals ! I hope I get to see them live when this mess it over ! Cheers Pedro 🤘 Stay Safe my friend :))
I can't believe that this video went over my head for four days, especially when I was looking forward to you making it... For whatever reason, I never got into Queensryche. I have Empire which I really enjoy once in a while. Other than that, I don't know why I never made much time for them. That's why I looked forward to this video; I wanted to learn from your perspective. American Soldier was popular when it came out. I was in grade eleven at the time, but I never bothered listening to it back then. Your analogy about replacing an apple with an apple is exactly how I feel about Iced Earth. They've gone through so many vocalists, but I never notice. Lol We'll see you in the next one! Hopefully you rank the three Demons and Wizards ones. 🤘🤘🤘
Nice list, Darcy! Here's mine: 1) Rage for Order 2) The Warning & EP 3) Empire 4) Operation: Mindcrime 5) Promised Land The rest of the catalog- not so good for me, only couple of really cool songs here and there. Some reason I haven't heard three last albums yet. Maybe because I'm Geoff Tate fan lol... Cheers & Stay metal!🤘
Great list Zach ! Give the new albums a chance , Todd La Torre is excellent & does a remarkable job live on the Geoff era material ! Cheers 🤘 Have a safe & relaxing weekend !
Can't argue with that, like u say alot of filler albums in the lower half for sure, problem with the Tate Ryche cd to me was it sounded muddy, Gonna get close to you is a killer track...sadly tate even stole her look, my favorite is Empire, great video as always buddy, cheers my friend
Lol ya Geoff could easily be her little brother , man I love that cover , the Dalbello version is awesome too ! Hope your having a chill weekend & spinning lots of tunes ! Cheers Frankie 🤘
Great video Darcy. I always agree with your rankings. Queensryche is one of those bands with such a diversified discography. I am still missing some of their albums, but luckily I own all of their classics. Queen Of The Ryche is in my top 5 metal songs ever. Glad that they are back on the right track. Their last 2 releases are very good. Stay safe my friend.
Empire is a masterpiece of a record. First time I heard "Silent Lucidity", I was blown away. It's one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It's the perfect lullaby for your children at night. That's how beautiful the song is.
Excellent ranking Darcy 🤘don’t know much about mid and later QR or any of the legal stuff that happened. Early QR will always be king for me, the first 4-5 albums. Need to get Condition Human.
I don’t remember if you showed The Verdict last year ? Both that and Condition Hüman are worth adding to your collection ! Take care DOOMinator 🤘 Tty soon
I needed this video because just today i got a LIVE album recorded in Japan back in 1995, from amazon on cd for only 3 euros. Its a bootleg released in 2018 and it has an amazing sound. After listening to that album its nice to get a ranking video. My fave full lenght album is EMPIRE by them. Have it on cd, double cassette and vinyl lol. Some of those you showed, from the six album on, i dont have them but remember they were not very good. Then with the new singer i have two. But my fave is the mini lp and EMPIRE. Nice video DARCY.
Wow you can’t lose for €3 , probably stuff on there right up to Promised Land ! Empire is a great choice for your #1 full length , not a bad song on it ! Cheers René 🤘 Rock Hard in Spain 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 It was recorded during the ROAD TO THE PROMISE LAND tour in Japan and it has like 5 tracks from that album. A really good live bootleg album on cd Darcy.
Killer ranking! My favorite song by them is Walk In The Shadows !! I only own everything up to Empire and i have the Verdict my top 5 would be 1 Rage For Order 2 Operation Mindcrime 3 The Warning 4 Queensryche EP 5 The Verdict But i need to hear more of the recent albums, i am familiar with everything up to Hear in the now Frontier and then nothing till the Verdict! Great video👍🤘🤘
Oh man I love Walk In The Shadows , killer song from one of the very best albums of 1986 ! If you like The Verdict your gonna love Condition Hüman , hope you can score a copy ! Thanks for hanging out & talking some metal ! Cheers Aaron 🍻
Same top 3 for me. Though I don't know all of their albums inside and out, this video serves as an excellent blueprint of which songs I can explore on certain albums, should I ever decide I want to explore their catalog even further. Good stuff my friend :)
Killer top 3 ! Save your money on those bottom ones lol , you might see them for a couple bucks and then maybe or you could get a nice cup of coffee instead 🤣 Thanks for always taking the time to watch , comment & for making this fun ! Take care ~ Darcy
I love coffee so I'd gladly get that over adding any unnecessary fat to my music collection :) I have to love at LEAST half the songs on an album to justify it taking space on my shelf. Sounds like those bottom ones wouldn't make it there lol. Have a good weekend Darcy :)
😭 Lolol. I love this ranking Darcy. What I always found intriguing about this band is how there discography really has so much ups and downs, some good CDs, some masterpieces and some really bad CDs. But the great is just flawless. Top 5 for me are 5-condition human4-warning 3-rage for order 2-empire 1- mindcrime Great video Darcy! Stay ryche brother. Joe
No doubt about your #1 lol , I believe that’s your overall favourite album period if I REMEMBER NOW 😉 I’m glad you enjoyed this one bother 🤘 Stay Heavy
Hi Darcy!! cool task ranking Queensryche catalogue.... back in the day i always found a little bit odd the bands look on the earlier albums, but the music was great, they completely lost me with Promised Land, then i bought Q2K meh..... From the current lineup i have only listen to a couple of tracks. Cheers
I know what you mean about their look , especially around the Rage For Order time , I looked at those outfits & thought WTF are you guys wearing lol . Cheers Christian 🤘 Stay Safe
My top 10 favourite Queensryche albums would be 10. American Soldier 9. Q2K 8. Tribe 7. Hear In The Now Frontier 6. Queensryche 5. Rage For Order 4. The Warning 3. Operation Mindcrime 2. Empire 1. Promised Land
Oh wow Promised Land at #1 , that album gets overlooked there is actually some really good tracks on it ! Hope all is going good for you Draven 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Interesting ranking. Operation Mindcrime is easily my favorite. #2 does bounce between The Warning and Empire for me! I'm actually friends with one of the members of Geoff's solo career!
The only 2 in my collection are the original E.P which kicks arse IMO and Empire, not a huge Queensryche fan. Great video as always Darcy....cheers and thanks.
They definitely hit their peek within the first 10 years , some real classic albums in that lot ! The Warning & Rage For Order are well worth a listen , 80’s goodness ! Cheers 🍻 Have a great weekend :))
Hey Darcy, great ranking video as always. I only have a few of their records with Operation Mindcrime being my favourite and from what it sounds like I'm not missing out on much ha! although I now remeber I have Hear in the Now Frontier, I'll give it a spin. Gonna change gears on ya, did you pick the new AC/DC? Its actually pretty decent, nothing mind blowing but definitely better than Rock or Bust. What's up next for ranking videos? Take care.
Thanks Steve ! I have the new AC/DC on the way , I should of just grabbed it at Walmart , only place in my little city that would have it ! I’m hearing good reviews , can’t wait to hear the whole album ! Next for ranking videos 🤔 maybe one of the following , Motörhead , Slayer , Primal Fear or Gamma Ray ! Hope your having a great weekend 🤘 Stay Heavy
Great ranking of a great band! I’ve been following them since probably -86 and love all their albums up ’till ”Promised Land”. After that album there were to much grunge influences for my taste. Some good tracks for shure, but not a solid album until Tod took over the singing duty. The last three albums are all great I think!🤘
Thanks very much ! Lots of grunge influences on Q2K & Tribe , doesn’t even remotely sound like classic era Queensrÿche ! They have renewed energy & focus with Todd on board , I’m already looking forward to their next album ! Cheers Nik 🤘 Metaaaaaaal
When it comes to their first 3albums it's so hard for me to try and rank them because it's just so close between them. But my personal favorite album probably is #1 - Operation Mindcrime. and then at #2 - The Warning. and then at #3 - Rage For Order. But I would also have to add a very special note to their first E.P. which was my first introduction to them. Back when it first released. I personally love it so much and believe it is the most greatest E.p. ever released. Verygood video Darcy stay safe brother\m/
I totally agree with you on the ep , I remember hearing it back in 1983 and thinking WOW this is so unique , it’s always been a favourite of mine ! Take care my brother in Metal 🤘
Awesome! Love Queensryche! I just got Empire on vinyl. We have seen Queensryche live with Todd a couple of times in the last 3 years. Great singer and great show!
Great pickup Rodney , Empire is a classic ! I need to add a few Queensrÿche to my vinyl want list , especially the classics ! Very cool you got seen them live , they have a killer touring drummer Casey Grillo , I hope to see them live when this mess is over ! Cheers my friend 🤘 Stay Safe
My ranking would be very, very close to yours! Only I would have switched The Verdict and Condition Human. I liked The Verdict a little better. And my top 4 would be in a different order. 1. Mindcrime 2. Empire 3. The Warning and 4. Rage For Order. Great video dude!
Ha ha believe me I thought about switching Condition Hüman & The Verdict , both great albums ! Love you’re top 4 , all classics ! Thanks for the kind words 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I mentioned it once, but I met you at the Maiden concert last year in Edmonton. I was with Dean. Cheers from Saskatoon! Up The Ryches! haha
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Did you see QR at the Regina Casino, about 8 years ago there?!?! And I can see where you're coming from, with your top 4. Cause you had the chance to experience The Warning, when it first came out. I think I'm only a few years behind you in age lol. It's like me with Maiden. And how do you even rate that first 5 album run with Dickinson!? But SIT was my first new release, and that will never change, as my number 1. If I had caught NOTB when it first came out, that one might be number 1 for me.
There are some placements that I agree with. My name is in the liner notes of The Verdict, which is cool. Mindcrime is probably the best for me. I think they are getting better with each album so far with Todd. Anyways, great ranking video. Also, did you hear the new Fates Warning album? Long Day Good Night. It’s great.
That’s very cool to have your name in the liner notes of The Verdict , true fan right there ! I can remember buying Operation : Mindcrime brand new on release day , that cassette never left my car for a year ! I’m still waiting for my copy of the new Fates Warning , I ordered directly from Metal Blade with a few other things , takes a bit longer to ship to Canada , can’t wait to hear it ! I’m sure your a Joey Vera fan , definitely check out the new Armored Saint ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
you are cranking out the vids lately! - keep it up 😎I've never been motivated to venture beyond the first four (I include the EP in those four). I am still on the lookout for an OG of Operation Mindcrime, I used to see that album everywhere but now it's no where to be seen, them's the breaks! Superfan Darcy does it again, delivered with honesty and passion! Mike does a great cover of The Warning... Do you have much Queensryche on vinyl?
🤣😂 I was going to do a cover of Metal Mickey’s The Warning , damn it I forgot !! I need to write this shit down ! No Queensrÿche on vinyl ... yet ! Cheers Andy 🍻
Great ranking Darcy I’d be lost ranking queenryche I’m not a fan of anything after Rage For Order I do like the Todd LaTorre albums and are definitely a return to form. The 1983 E.P. is still my favorite.
Thanks Ben ! That ep came out of nowhere in ‘83 , I recorded the video for Queen Of The Reich on VHS , I played it over & over , still love it to this day ! Stay Heavy brother 🤘
14. Dedicated To Chaos 13. Q2K 12. Operation Mindcrime II 11. Hear In The Now Frontier 10. American Soldier 9. The Verdict 8. Tribe 7. Queensryche 6. Condition Hüman 5. The Warning 4. Rage For Order 3. Promised Land 2. Operation Mindcrime 1. Empire
That cover is very cool & one heck of a good album , the little girl made the logo on a foggy window overlooking the Seattle skyline , very cleaver ! Thanks for hanging out Justin 🤘 always appreciated :))
Warning was intended to be a concept album, taking George Orwells' 1984 and computer technology. Mix Engineer messed up the order of songs. Order starts 1. NM 156, En Force, Deliverance, No Sanctuary, Take Hold Of....and then the rest of the album in its' normal order until the next to last song, should be Warning. Changes how you percieve the album!
You know I think I heard that a long time ago , definitely changes the way you’d perceive the album , I need to listen to it in concept order ! That’s something I don’t think a lot of people know , thanks for putting that in the comments ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Get back to me if/when you do. Pay attention to the lengthy spoken lyrics at the beginning of NM156. As relevant today as ever.
Big Queensryche fan from way back! The first four albums are classics to me. Heard tracks from Operation Mindcrime on the Metal Shop radio show. Those last few albums though with Geoff Tate were abysmal. The band seemed miserable, and you could hear it. They've been revitalized with Todd LaTorre. I've only seen them twice over the years. The first was in front of a big outdoor crowd headlining for Hear In The Now Frontier. They had just lost their label support. The band started playing right at sunset. And got to see Chris Degarmo! (Heard he's a pilot now). The second in a small club for Condition Human. Great show with mix of old / new tracks.
That’s cool you got see them with both vocalists , I bet that outdoor show was something special , awesome memories ! They are definitely back on track with the Todd era albums , can’t wait for the next one ! Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment , always appreciated ! Take care Jimmy
Great choice ! What a year ‘88 was , two of my all-time favourite concept albums came out that year Operation : Mindcrime of course & Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son ! Cheers Matt 🤘
Another great ranking review. I pretty much agree with how you ranked them. Operation:Mindcrime is my favorite and then Rage For Order. But I'm with you on all those later albums. I'm so glad they got Todd in the band because those later albums with Tate are pretty bad, minus a song here and there. Especially Dedicated to Chaos. By far the worst. But yeah, something had to give because things just kept going downhill after (imo the highly underrated) Promised Land. But Dedicated to Chaos was the last damn straw.
Thanks very much ! The cracks in the armour started with Hear In The Now Frontier , a few good songs but overall it’s a bloated album , then Chris left & it was all downhill until Todd joined ! Promised Land is a good album ! Thanks for watching , have a great weekend Jason 🤘
Tier 1... the first 5 (including the E.P., cream of the crop) Tier 2...the last 3 (not great, but good stuff!) Tier 3... everything in the middle (not the queensryche I want to hear). My 1-14 are pretty similar although Mindcrime is my #1. I then went back in time for the first 3. 🤘
Tier 1 is pure gold ! Really started losing their way on Hear In The Now Frontier & really lost it after Chris left , they’ll never replicate the classic era , but I do enjoy the Todd La Torre era ! Your #1 is awesome ! Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment 🤘 always appreciated !
It is so nice to see someone give love to Hear in the Now Frontier. May not be their best, but it is far from the worst they ever released. YOU is also my favorite track on that album.
Underrated album. Some of the tracks are right up there with some of their best, but the album just didnt quite coalesce like their previous records and felt like a collection of random songs. It was great still imo but it was undoubtedly the first appearance of cracks in the bands armor.
That’s awesome you got to see them live a few times , they came within 2 hours of where I live back in April 2013 , unfortunately I was away at the time ! Todd is awesome , I love the newer albums ! Cheers Tim 🤘 Stay Safe
Great ranking. I think Mindcrime and Empire are my favourites. Really can't decide between these two. Also saw them 3 times live with Todd on vocals and he really is a fantastic singer and frontman to this band. I might even say that on the old classic songs i prefer him to Geoff because his style to deliver those sounds more natural to me (I know: sounds a little bit heretic 😉).
Thanks very much ! You can have a tie for your top 2 albums , it’s ok with me lol , both great albums ! I haven’t seen them live , but I have seen footage of Todd singing Geoff era songs & I totally get what your saying ! Thanks for watching & commenting , always appreciated ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
Rage For Order is my fav. Such a great moody record. Walk in the Shadows is a perfect song. And the link to Lisa Dalbello with the cover of Gonna Get Close To You is an amazing thing. Dalbello is wonderful. Her album, Whoman Foursays is dark and moody just like Rage For Order. Dalbello isn't metal, but she is dark with an amazing voice.
You seem to have softened your stance on Frequency Unknown, in a previous video you had stated you did not care for that all album at all, but I understand our tastes change over time. For myself I have to put Mindcrime at number 1, as much as I love Rage and The Warning, Mindcrime is just unparalleled not only in their own discography but one of the greatest concept album of all time by any band.
I’m glad someone is paying attention in class lol , yes I wasn’t big on Frequency Unknown , maybe I was a bit bitter towards Geoff I don’t know , I have grown to like it more over time ! We were so lucky to have 2 of the finest concept album released in ‘88 ! Salud Luis 🤘 Stay Safe
I think Empire is the most listenable of all the albums. Solid quality tracks. They didn't lose their edge with a more commercial sound. Operation Mindcrime and Rage are great as well
Empire is a fanatic album there’s no doubt about that , but for me it will always be the Ep & first 3 albums ! They were definitely a band that sounded ahead of their time if you know what I mean ! Thanks for watching Michael 🤘 Cheers from Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 the first 3 and the EP have great songs, all along this period it sounds like they are finding their way through new ground. On Empire I think they found that complete magic with a combo of the distinctive sound (refined) AND songwriting. I was like their Zeppelin IV, Physical Grafitti, Zep 2, House of the Holy, etc etc Lol!
Just three albums of theirs are in my line, and of course i got just the three ones: 1) Impire 2) Operation Mindcrime 3) Promised Land , that's it alas.
I saw these guys live, I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before on another video but it's worth saying again. I saw them before Covid in November 2019 in Glasgow! They were awesome!
Haven't heard anything after Promised Land. EP and The Warning no doubt their best ones. I have been curious about Condition Human since it was released, i will put it on my list and get it. Over all this list went the way i expected it to go. On top side from EP to Empire and then the later albums. Glad to hear of the improvement with the new singer. Pasi
I think the first album with Todd , just titled Queensrÿche is good , but I think they really found their footing on the next album Condition Hüman , I’d be curious of what you think of it ! Check out some of the live footage of Todd singing Geoff era songs , very impressive ! Thanks as always Pasi 🤘 Stay Safe
After the mighty Maiden, and Queensryche, my next favourite band of that style I have to ask you about. They were a top 5 band at one time, and are still in my top 10. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Metallica, but they are still top 5. And as much as QR stunk it up with those last albums with Tate, my love for Mindcrime still keeps them in my top 5. The other 2 bands that round out my top 5 are Alice In Chains and Soundgarden! What do you think of those 2 bands? So anyways, the band I wanted to ask you about it Fates Warning?!?! What do you think?
Hey Chad 👋 AIC is great , I have most of their albums , I think I’m only missing the newest one ! I’ve never really been big on Soundgarden , don’t dislike them , just never got into them . Fates Warning I like , but only have 5 or 6 of their albums , I’ll pickup more in ‘21 . Hope your doing great 🎅 Have a great Christmas !
I would put OM top easily. Not only do I consider it the bands best lp, I could possibly put an argument for it being the greatest heavy metal lp ever.
Queensryche albums to me started at The Warning, then retired after Promised land. Then resurfaced after a long retirement and the started again with Queensryche mk 2..the other discs inbetween are just good for frisbee practise
🤣 frisbee practice ! I can’t ague that ha ! It’s great to see these guys back on track with Todd , even that Queensrÿche sound is back ! Cheers Danny 🤘 Stay Safe
I think that tate album is definitely meant as an fu to the rest of the band. Such a strange situation. I find it weird it wasn't re-labeled Geoff Tate or Opperation Mindcrime. But 99-13 were strange years for the band. Otherwise their stuff is pretty solid.
I remember buying that cassette on release day back ‘88 , I don’t think it left my car for a year lol , such a classic ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
I remember when they first came out. My buddy bought the debut E.P. and I was immediately blown away by "Queen of the Reich". Not a big fan, as I feel they got too progressive for my taste. But that debut, wow, I love it to this day. But musically, they do have talent, and their current vocalist, Tod LaTore, is well liked by the fans.
Back in the day I’d record The Power Hour every week , I had piles of VHS tapes of episodes , I remember playing the video for Queen Of The Reich over & over ... classic ! I could listen to The Warning once a week right now & never tire of that album ! Cheers Mark 😷 Stay Safe
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Man, we ARE getting old! I used to do the same thing. Problem was, a lot of it were stinking ballads, which I feel robbed me of at least 20 minutes of power. I also remember KISS wearing more makeup in that decade than in the 70's! It also refused to play "The Number of the Beast", and I don't think they played it until at least 1986-87. Thank goodness for TH-cam! 👍🤘Cheers, and looking forward to your Maiden "Nights of the Dead" review.☺
Ha I guessed right the other day your 3. I can't say I know the albums well enough to even give you a ranking of the ones I own apart from Mindcrime. The last time I played Empire I played it 3 times in 2 days so that would be up there too. Anyway good video. Who's next? Motorhead. That should keep you going lol.
I am a long time fan. I started with Mindcrime, but that would be my #2. My #1 would be Empire, I just like all the songs. Rage and Warning would be my 3 and 4. Not sure in what order for those two. Maybe my 5 would be Promised Land then the Todd de la Torre albums.
That’s a very solid top 4 ! Promised Land has some great tracks but I like the 2 newest albums a bit more , Todd has fit in so well ! Cheers John 🤘 Stay Safe
I was trying to think of ep that I love as much as the Queensrÿche ep , I can’t think of one in my collection that would rival it ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Stay Safe
Yeah, I can't think of a better ep either. It's definitely better than The Eyes Of Horror ep by Possessed & Fuck You by Overkill. I will put up a 3 song 12", Can We Call This Life? by Tragedy.
1995, 1996, 2005. Queensryche show I saw. 95 and 96 were headline shows. Third was open for Judas Priest. All great concerts. I quit buying QR after 1996. I have not bought any Geoff Tate music. Rankings- EP, Empire, Mindcrime, Rage, Warning. **edit** I did have the Video mindcrime (VHS) and a dvd of early QR videos, a history of the band.
I always like when you list off the years you’ve see the bands we talk about , very cool ! I’ve heard a couple songs from Geoff Tate’s Operation : Mindcrime band , I really didn’t like it ! Thanks for listing off your top 5 ! Cheers William 🤘 Stay Safe
You can’t go wrong with that list , thanks for sharing your top 5 ! Definitely check out the albums with Todd if you haven’t already , great stuff ! Take care Jeff 🤘 Stay Safe
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 will give them a shot. I sort of got tired of the average unfocused albums with Geoff Tate & all the drama. I was into the band early with the e.p so my heart is always with the earlier albums. I felt they lost a lot of their appeal after Chris De Garmo left & he wrote so many of their classics songs.
Impossible for me to believe any new Queensryche album ranks higher than Promised Land. I also still don't understand why fans downgrade Hear in the Now Frontier so much.
As you’ve seen I don’t mind the newer albums with Todd on vocals , but the cut off point of essential Queensrÿche would be Hear In The Now Frontier in this ranking , anything after that is maybe ok to poor ! My favourites will always be those Top 2 + the Ep , a band ahead of it’s time ! I just watched some of Geoff Tate doing the Rage For Order album in it’s entirety , man he still sounds great ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada

Operation: Mindcrime II 11. Take Cover 12. Hear In The Now Frontier 13. Frequency Unknown 14. Tribe 15. Q2k 16. American Soldier 17. Dedicated to Chaos
Great list Kevin ! Nice to see you enjoying Condition Hüman & The Verdict ! If I had given Frequency Unknown a ranking it would of been #10 , same position as yours ! Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
LOVE(d) QR so much. Huge part of my life. cant argue preference or opinion, but theres no way does anything from either camp post breakup belong on this list. Nothing any of them have done since the separation holds a candle to their original work. The only possible exception being the very latest by Todd's group... digital noise alliance (which I realize didnt exist at the time of this list). The Todd camp stuff just sounds like an adequate attempt at impersonating QR and lacking passion. Tates group sounds like a progression / aging of QR but lacking the power conviction and soul of its former self. I consider midcrime, empire and promised land a trifecta of near perfect albums.. RfO and Warning come reallllly close to being perfect as well.
Dedicated to Chaos is probably one of the worst albums I've ever heard. Hear in the Now Frontier is up there too. Tried relistening to HITNF a while back thinking I may have been too harsh on it but nope, it blows, save for a few songs. Pretty much everything after Promised Land and up to Queensryche is crap. OM:2 has some good tunes on it but as a concept album it's not good. The EP through Promised Land is gold. Everything after that, with the exceptions of a few songs here and there. is not good. And all the albums with Todd are great. Glad to see them back on their feet and writing metal tunes again. Also, Todd's solo album is killer. Looking forward to the next QR record.
I pretty much agree with everything you said , besides a couple good songs , there is not much to offer on those later albums with Geoff ! I love Todd’s solo album , it’s currently holding down the #1 spot so far this year ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Saskatchewan Canada
I started to lose interest around Hear In The Now Frontier , came back in at Operation : Mindcrime II & thought this has got to get better lol , never did until Todd joined , past 3 albums have been great ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Take care Ron
Love Queensrÿche both with and without Tate. I hear this album featuring Tate is also pretty good. Have you heard this? th-cam.com/video/o6489svhyBg/w-d-xo.html
No I haven’t heard this , I’m not sure I even knew about it , thanks for the link , I’ll be checking this out for sure ! Thanks for watching 🤘 hope your doing great !
You're a real trooper, listening to all that... The Warning is my favorite. I stopped buying Queensryche albums after Promised Land (and I returned that album to the store. Lol). I know Todd is a badass, but I don't think i can go back to listening to non-80's QR.
I try not to half ass any ranking video , have to do my homework lol . I know what you mean about their 80’s output , but if you get a chance check out the 2 latest albums , you never know ! Thanks for taking the time to watch & comment 🤘 always appreciated !
It’s the guy that’s talking before the song Empire starts , I’m pretty sure it’s the same guy that’s talking at the start of Exodus’s song Deranged 🤣 “ I like salad “ !
Actually when I was giving a few of these a spin to prepare for the video there was a inch of dust on a couple , maybe even some rust 🤣 Thanks for watching Josh 🤘 Stay Safe
1) Empire
2) Condition Human
3) Promise Land
4) Operation: Mindcrime
5) Hear In The Now Frontier
My favorite album from Queensryche will always be „Operation: Mindcrime“. To me it’s the perfect concept album! 👍🏻
I agree , not only is the music fantastic , the story is cool too & told to perfection in those intelligent lyrics ! Nice choice for you #1 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Great video from Metal Head Darcy. I have not listen all Queensryche album. I only have Promised Land in my collection.
Try The Warning & Rage For Order, I absolutely love those albums. I hope you’re doing good Joseph 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy

I haven’t listened to Promised Land for a couple years, I’ll put it on this week. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your ranking 🤘 Take care Draven
Excellent Queensryche ranking, Darcy! The only Queensryche album I have is Promised Land & Condition Human.
Looks like you need to check out some 80’s ‘Rÿche , I can’t recommend those highly enough ! Cheers Tony 🤘 Stay Safe
Great list!
Mine (including all the Geoff Tate stuff)

7. Condition Hüman
6. The verdict
5. Promised land

2. Rage for Order
Great video, cheers man 🤘
It’s tough to beat the classic 80’s stuff , but I will say these past two albums are awesome , well worth checking out ! Cheers Thomas 🤘 Stay Safe
Right there with ya brother those top three are interchangeable and that ep changed my life
Thanks very much ! Do you have or have heard Operation : Livecrime ? It’s a fantastic live album ! Thanks as always 🤘 Stay Safe
Lol
We'll see you in the next one! Hopefully you rank the three Demons and Wizards ones. 🤘🤘🤘
Operation: Mindcrime and The Warning are my two favorites. Incredible metal from my teenage years.
Nice list, Darcy! Here's mine:
1) Rage for Order
2) The Warning & EP
3) Empire
4) Operation: Mindcrime
5) Promised Land
The rest of the catalog- not so good for me, only couple of really cool songs here and there.
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Well, I must go our local library and pick those three newest CD's and give them a chance... 😎 Take care my friend! 🤘
Thank you my friend ! As long as you have the classic stuff your in good shape & yes the Todd La Torre era has been great ! Cheers 🤘 Stay Heavy
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 yes I have a copy of the Verdict 😊
I only own everything up to Empire and i have the Verdict my top 5 would be
1 Rage For Order
2 Operation Mindcrime
3 The Warning
4 Queensryche EP
5 The Verdict
But i need to hear more of the recent albums, i am familiar with everything up to Hear in the now Frontier and then nothing till the Verdict! Great video👍🤘🤘

Give those top few a listen , you might be surprised ! Cheers my friend 🤘 have a great weekend :))
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 And You 👍
Same top 3 for me.
Top 5 for me are 5-condition human4-warning
3-rage for order 2-empire 1- mindcrime
Great video Darcy! Stay ryche brother. Joe

Hi Darcy!! cool task ranking Queensryche catalogue.... back in the day i always found a little bit odd the bands look on the earlier albums, but the music was great, they completely lost me with Promised Land, then i bought Q2K meh..... From the current lineup i have only listen to a couple of tracks. Cheers
I know what you mean about their look , especially around the Rage For Order time , I looked at those outfits & thought WTF are you guys wearing lol . Cheers Christian 🤘 Stay Safe
QUEENSRYCH, set the bar extraordinarily high for themselves out of the gate, both a blessing, and a double edged sword.

I saw Tate early this year. He did the Rage For Order and Empire album in their entirety. He still sounds good.
I was due to go to that myself in Newcastle until the Covid hit. Seen him the 2 years ago doing the whole Mindcrime album though and he was great.
Thanks brother ! Empire is a great choice , killer album ! Cheers 🤘 Stay Heavy

It’s great.

Great ranking 👍 Mindcrime is my #1.
Great choice ! What a year ‘88 was , two of my all-time favourite concept albums came out that year Operation : Mindcrime of course & Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son ! Cheers Matt 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 🤘🤘🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 did you ever rank the W.A.S.P. albums? I just did mine on my channel and was wondering what yours was.
No not yet , it’s on my list though ! Cool I’m going watch right now 🤘
Man Rage and Opperation mindcrime rotate between 1 and 2 for me. Had the EP been a full album it would probably be close too.
Tier 1... the first 5 (including the E.P., cream of the crop)
Tier 2...the last 3 (not great, but good stuff!)
Tier 3... everything in the middle (not the queensryche I want to hear).
Knew Mindcrime would be top 3. Seen them 2 or 3 times with Todd very impressed with him
That’s awesome you got to see them live a few times , they came within 2 hours of where I live back in April 2013 , unfortunately I was away at the time !
I was like their Zeppelin IV, Physical Grafitti, Zep 2, House of the Holy, etc etc
Lol!
Just three albums of theirs are in my line, and of course i got just the three ones: 1) Impire 2) Operation Mindcrime 3) Promised Land , that's it alas.
My favorite is Tribe, because of its dark, heavy, Tribal sound.
Definitely one of their darkest albums ! Are you a fan of the Todd La Torre era ? New album very soon ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
I saw these guys live, I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before on another video but it's worth saying again. I saw them before Covid in November 2019 in Glasgow! They were awesome!
Ya I’m remember you taking about that show , I’m jealous , I’ve never seen them live ! Thanks for watching Conor 🤘 Stay Safe
1 empire
2 promis
3 frontier
4 operation
5 rage
My top 5
I wouldn’t argue that with you Paul , their first 3 albums plus their EP are unreal ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Stay Safe
Excelent band, hearing of Brazil
Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Mindcrime is perfection.
You nailed it the other day , I almost thought about changing it 🤣 Motörhead or Slayer next , we will see ! Cheers mate 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Ah right OK either is good. Slayer is easier.
Operation mindcrime is my favorite full lenght, but the ep is my overall favorite! 🤘

Operation Mindcrime !
Great choice ! Cheers Greger 🤘 Stay Safe
