Ding the last few years, 'Call an ambulance!' Ding today, 'But not for me!' Can't wait to see the rest, maybe it will be much more of a match than I thought.
After all the chatter about Ding's readiness for the championship, this has to feel incredible for him. Winning with black in game 1 is not something many people will have predicted! Great analysis as always Jerry, I can't wait for the rest of the matches.
Been watching your WCC coverage in one form or another since Carlsen/Karjaken. Yours was the first I was excited to see this morning. Also thank-you for the Tale of the Tape I couldn't find it anywhere else.
I watched this in real time. I was hoping Ding was ready, and he played brilliantly. Even with Gukesh pacing back and forth in front of him while he was in deep thought. Intentionally creating a distraction? Go Ding. I hope to watch more of this.
Didn't realize the championship started today. Don't follow it like I used to. But always got to return to ChessNetwork when it roles around. Started playing online around the 2016 Magnus vs Karjakin match and watched all Jerry's videos of those games. Glad to see the chanel still going!
Once again Ding with the outside passed A pawn threatening promotion. The ending to the last World Championship and a fitting start to this World Championship.
Saw the blog post on Lichess at work. First thing I thought was I hope Jerry has his review ready by the time I got home and settled with dinner. Lucky me, it is! Thanks for keeping up with another WCC match.
What an exciting first match I’m glad Ding won especially after so many people doubting his preparedness, he’s still sharp and definitely came out guns ablaze this 1st game, excited to see the next one, thanks Jerry for the excellent content ❤
Great analysis as always, Jerry. I honestly think Gukesh is too big a favorite in this match. Now, I'm still picking him to win but with odds I'd put a buck or two on Ding.
I haven't watched any chess for the past few months. When I learned that WCC is being played, I felt immediate excitement and rushed to this channel :) Excellent commentary as always. Are you doing live commentary again? I can imagine the timezone being quite uncomfortable for you this time around.
Hi ChessNetwork. I started following you years and years ago when you covered the world championship and it was awesome. Are you planning to do some real time coverage of the games where you jump into the longer analysis and variations. This is good too, I just wish the videos were a lot longer :)
Ive been inspired by your videos Jerry to play through and study every game of this championship match. Im excited to watch your video and gain perspective on some key details I may have missed. Thanks for all the amazing content over the years!
I had a feeling about this WC match, it will be very interesting throughout the course of the match, not just only a boring draw results like the former champion did before
14:08 bishop to c5, was the best move for gukesh, hit the queen, prevent castling, gain 1 or 2 tempos... great game coverage jerry as always...❤ also those pawns on a2, a3, created too much distraction and queen devotion around them for gukesh...
Really enjoyed your commentary, Jerry. The accuracy scores seem both high(Liren) and low (Gukesh)?!? I get 90%+ on Lichess sometimes, but 97% in a long game seems improbable?
Thanks Jerry, great analysis as usual 👏. Was wondering why you are not streaming this time ? I guess it is due to the match start time of 4 am EST for you :). But for once , for fans like me in Down Under 8 pm local time is a good prime time slot for this match.
Thank you for your video as always Jerry! You missed a funny queen sacrifice after 30. Bc5 Qxg4 31. Qxh7, threatening mate! The position could only be saved with another crazy queen sacrifice, Qd4+.
Unfortunately the software I used to use, Blitzin, is no longer an option. I’m not able to easily include the times. I think will updating the players time after every 10 moves on the side to give a better idea of the time remaining.
One thing to note at 18:37 If after the game's conclusion point with Kh8 we saw Be5, trying to set up Qxh6#, well, first off that hangs the bishop, but second, Qg2# would be an immediate mate by Black.

Hey Jerry, are you planning to do live coverage of some the games in this world championship match?
Is the "presented by google" really necessary?
Hi jerry its everyone
He’s never gonna respond to one of these, isn’t he?
@@achillesyoutube8773 He starts every video with a curse word that has to be BLEEPED.

MY 5th world championship watching chessnetwork. Thanks for the years of good commentary

"My 5TH world championship..." WTF MAGNUS IS THAT YOU "...watching chessnetwork." Ohhhhh...

I'm so happy you're covering this WCC, Jerry! For some reason I thought you wouldn't be. You're simply the best at what you do :)
"Take care, bye".
Thank you Carlos. 👍

Great commentary as always. Please Jerry, if possible, add move times
Seconding this!
His entire interface needs to be updated. These older channels would get more views that way
As well as FIDE ratings
@@unknown-unknown69 well, they won't change during the tournament
@@theazrael4423 Please no, there's plenty of "modern" channels, I like one that's decent for change...
Waiting for your videos about this topic. Thanks for your effort.

The best time of the year - CN covering the WCC. Looking forward to the whole series Jerry!
Great timing, didn’t have to wait long for your review
Congrats on the sponsorship! You deserve it!
A positional master-class from Ding 🎉
Jerry, keep up the good work. Nice review and analysis of game 1.
Loved all your ideas. Well done!
Great! Happy I discovered your channel recently before this Championship
👍
Thank you Jerry for covering this !
WCC with ChessNetwork commentary, the tradition is alive!!!!!
are you streaming on twitch this championship? you're the best
Not this time. I posted a comment on this channel’s community tab.
What an unbelievable game. You couldn't ask for a more exciting position.

I appreciate the calm review :)
I'm confused: is the Championship sponsored by Google, or your game reviews?
The championship is
I was also confused about this, it's a bit odd to plaster a corporate logo on a 20 minute video while not being sponsored.
I paused watching chess for so long until this very moment 😂
I was just wondering when the recap video would be posted. It’s my lucky day 🎉
I was hoping you would be sharing insights about yet another world championship match. Thank you Jerry!

Let the games begin!🎉
Great job as usual Jerry! I enjoy the instructive insights, and your low-key "Just the facts" approach.
Thank you 👍
Thanks a lot for your great analysis. Possible to put the timer for both players to better understand their situation?
I listened various analyses of this interesting 1st game , and you have the best comments, precise and sober
Hi Jerry..why are you not covering it live...really missed your coverage..
Ding is so subtle I had a feeling something like this will happen. Besides congratulations to Ding!❤
Thanks for giving POV of white not giving away the winner

I wasn’t even aware the Championship Match had started. Masterful work on both sides.
2 blunders from Gukesh, I hope he's not too hard on himself and recovers for the remaining games

How is Jerry?
Good thanks 😎
Leave out the sponsorship unless they sponsor you directly. It can give you only negative press
Agreed. Not sure why Jerry included it.
Pretty exciting first game... Looks like it's gonna be a fun match!
Hi Jerry. Will you be streaming coverage on Twitch this year? I've always loved your coverage!
I read online there might be a different format for the time controls than you described. Increment comes later, 60 moves in.
Increment kicks in at move 41.
Jerry, where you following the match live? I didn't see your stream live
How exciting !
Thanks Jerry!
Jerry please show the contestants clock time... thx
Will shoot for a time update every 10 moves on the side. The older setup is no longer on option in presenting the times easily.
I had a feeling about this WC match, it will be very interesting throughout the course of the match, not just only a boring draw results like the former champion did before

Having too many channels to watch the recaps, I still prefer ChessNetwork's channel

I love gukesh❤❤❤❤❤❤
I condemn Karpov for his dismissive remarks about Liren and Gukesh and expect him to apologize.
Unexpected start like 1927 Capablanca v Alekhine, also a french defence.

hi jerry. can you pls switch to the old chessboard format? it was too og
I'd rather look at notation and time than the word google
Hi Jerry..
I was hoping to see you go live on twitch this morning Jerry 😢
Let's go Ding! Great play
The commentators of the live feed said the French had only been used a couple of times in WC play.
Same as last time you have not added the time of both the players
Can’t do it easily anymore unfortunately.
Is this video sponsored by google ? This doesn't feel like Jerry's brand
No, it’s the event’s title.
I wonder why no clock time was added. This is a world chess championship match. I think every details matter
Unfortunately the software I used to use, Blitzin, is no longer an option. I’m not able to easily include the times. I think will updating the players time after every 10 moves on the side to give a better idea of the time remaining.

Wow, a French defense that Jerry shows being a win ends up being a world championship one! 😂

hope google is paying you too for advertising their sponsorship lol
They aren’t sponsoring me. They’re are the title sponsor of the event.
