I 100% agree. Internet is part of daily life now, telling people to just go offline is useless advice. It's like teaching abstinence in school. It's better to teach how to be safe than to not do it at all. No one is realistically going to never be on social media again
Shit, that sounds like me(kinda). Talking to and about and with people, looking for a way to one up them(low self-esteem and looking for a way to feel certain in myself and my reasoning without really knowing what I'm doing in the moment other than a strong desire to not be alone, but also, not wanting to be lied to or have someone loose trust in me and not wanting people to hate me and... but also wanting some power... some definitive way to communicate with people without them misunderstanding me)... not intentionally, but in a manner which may feel intentional to the other person... I even do this to myself, to arguably, even the playing field... but ultimately, I agree to it being unhealthy and I "kinda" wanna stop. Luckily for me I don't do it too often plus it's easy to tell I'm being sarcastic, although sometimes it really is just me down talking and being needlessly cynical to communicate a non-joking point that I find painfully obvious... and that other people don't like being thought of as dumb for not knowing... much like myself...

This! Im an old ass Millenial, one thing I can say is that we where lucky that people where alot more chilled on the internet in our time. Not saying there wasnt any toxic people around but it was hard to find them. These days they are everywhere and always so angry because people are slightly different, have different tastes and interests etc. Also I think the big tech companies are to blame for the this, they profit off us fighting with one another. I miss the good old days... anyway enough of my boomer rant.

Being a small channel + playing super niche games is honestly a recipe for low views, which is why I focused on other stuff for so long. I really hope that things will go better now that I'm nearing 5k! My entire goal has always been to introduce people to niche indie games that I believe deserve more love. I can’t help but resonate with your new sense of resolve and taking better care of yourself, despite the limitations you have to live with. And your feelings about content creation acting as a form of escapism also struck a chord with me. It’s gotten me through several rough patches in my life by listening to things I enjoy or music I love, be it while working or other such tasks. Naturally, I will never understand fully the hand you were dealt in life, and it’s not my place to impose, and I’m still new around here, but I look forward to seeing what you decide to do next, because I have always had a passing interest with RPG maker horror games, they’re quite a lovely sense of nostalgia for me. Honestly, hearing you talk about your job through the lens of your disabilities, helping dispel certain misconceptions and keeping tabs on your audience's preferences and ideas- that's a really unique point of view I haven't seen anywhere on this platform before. I think you've opened a perspective into the inside of modern entertainment, and not only does that help us understand YOU better, but also other content creators as a whole. I've yet to watch the entire video yet (I'm about 3/4 of the way through) but I just really want to shout out how you arent afraid to dispel myths or call out idiots for fear of "offending" people whose opinions don't even matter anyways. Man, it always gets to me whenever I'm introduced to someone new who's going through a lot where it feels like I can't do anything to help them. Last video had me worried but your attitude, honesty and adjusted plans in this vid are really great to see. It sucks I couldn't find you in a more natural manner but I plan to look past your condition and your suffering so I can become a follower for the creator and their content instead.

I'm so glad to see that you're doing okay. It was worrying but it did need be said. Bottling everything will make things worse, after all. Regardless of that, I believe you did the right thing. Speaking about how you really feel resonated with a lot people (including me) and just setting the right boundaries and measures to make sure you feel comfortable only makes sense. Hopefully, now you can relax a bit more because I already know from experience how anxiety in general can affect your mental and physical health, which would affect you so much more. Just one more thing, people won't hate you for not streaming or because of your disabilities. Well, at least the people who are fans (some people online are sad people, I guess). I haven't been here long but the sheer amount of care people have for you as a person is immense (once again, that includes me too lol). I, personally, will be watching every now and then. I might be 13 days a little late commenting this but now I feel dumb for commenting the "don't feel bad for people hating your videos" I never had that perspective that you did, saying it's like telling a musician that not to worry that nobody showed up to the concert or other stuff like that and that it hurts or disappoints creators. I never thought of it that way but it's good to see different points of view like that. I'm not a content creator myself or want any fame or attention or make a living or a job out of content creating so I'll never truly know. Happy to see you doing better. I was wondering if there was a way to sponsor a game or two I think you’d sincerely get a kick out of sometime later. I’m still unfamiliar with your gaming tastes but I think you’d be a solid fit for the Mega Man Star Force series (assuming your conditions don’t hamper your ability to put up with Nintendo DS touch gimmicks or speedy action RPG combat) or the RosenkreuzStilette games (a Mega Man-style run n gun platformer, with gothic fantasy aesthetic and waifus speaking shitty Deutsch). Struggle gameplay-wise for content and enjoy the stories along the way… except SF2, they were absolutely asleep at the wheel for that one.
Unfortunately I do struggle a lot with speedy gameplay, button mashing, etc. I have arthritis in my wrists that make those things super difficult :( I'm always open to game recommendations, though! It's always nice to find something new
@@karmunism If it helps anything, Star Force isn’t mash-heavy. Your basic attack is a hitscan gun that charges by not using it and rapid-fires entirely by holding the one button. It also has a counter system, so learning the ropes behind multi-hit Card attacks basically breaks the whole combat system wide open. As for RosenkreuzStilette, I haven’t played the two games myself personally but if you have any experience with OG Mega Man, Mega Man Zero, or even Metal Slug and Cuphead, you probably have a solid read on how gameplay will mess with your hands and wrists. The game is a test for vets of the genre and knows how to troll noobs here and there. Beyond that, it’s got a cool gothic fantasy aesthetic in sprite art form and a solid enough story of a conflict between militant magi and the prejudiced clergy they serve while a hidden mastermind pit them against each other. Sadly the English dub fell through so bust out the reading glasses. If either of those sound fine by you, I absolutely recommend diving in at your convenience.

And so many channels deserving of real attention get pushed into the background because of it. I've been watching some of your videos. Not the trendy stuff that this site sorta forces you (and others) into, I mean the videos you actually enjoy making based on what you said. The RPG Maker ones. I'm about halfway through your Misao series as of right now. It's really good, seriously. Your enthusiasm for it comes through very well. You have a knack for this, I think. You should have a lot more subs and views than you do. Glad to see that you're feeling better, and that you're really considering your own mental health. Which is something I wish more people would do, but there's that push in society for people to just run themselves into the ground. Also I gotta say, I really appreciate the fact that you keep all your content on one platform. Not exactly a fan of Twitch myself, and trying to follow a creator through multiple separate platforms is so confusing. On a site note, ever heard of a game by the name of At Home Alone Final? Awkward name, but it might be right up your alley. Brilliant game, particularly after they recently fixed up the translation. Whatever you do next though, I hope it's going to be something you truly enjoy. I'll be looking forward to it.

Well, it seems you are doing better. To somewhat support what you said, musicians often times take requests while they perform. Obviously, that can help you be more successful. It's not unethical to cater to an audience in and of itself. Personally, that's not something I want to do. I also don't want to be famous. I do not care for money. I just do what I want. I don't think that's a wrong way to do things either. I think everyone can have their own approach to things because everyone has their own reasons for doing something. The world can be judgmental in the strangest ways at times. I just hope everyone can find a little peace in their lives somewhere.

This! Im an old ass Millenial, one thing I can say is that we where lucky that people where alot more chilled on the internet in our time. Not saying there wasnt any toxic people around but it was hard to find them. These days they are everywhere and always so angry because people are slightly different, have different tastes and interests etc. Also I think the big tech companies are to blame for the this, they profit off us fighting with one another. I miss the good old days... anyway enough of my boomer rant.

Being a small channel + playing super niche games is honestly a recipe for low views, which is why I focused on other stuff for so long. I really hope that things will go better now that I'm nearing 5k! My entire goal has always been to introduce people to niche indie games that I believe deserve more love. This was a really uplifting video, Karma. Being someone that was part of that wave of finding you when you were at your most vulnerable. I can’t help but resonate with your new sense of resolve and taking better care of yourself, despite the limitations you have to live with. And your feelings about content creation acting as a form of escapism also struck a chord with me. It’s gotten me through several rough patches in my life by listening to things I enjoy or music I love, be it while working or other such tasks. Naturally, I will never understand fully the hand you were dealt in life, and it’s not my place to impose, and I’m still new around here, but I look forward to seeing what you decide to do next, because I have always had a passing interest with RPG maker horror games, they’re quite a lovely sense of nostalgia for me. Honestly, hearing you talk about your job through the lens of your disabilities, helping dispel certain misconceptions and keeping tabs on your audience's preferences and ideas- that's a really unique point of view I haven't seen anywhere on this platform before. I think you've opened a perspective into the inside of modern entertainment, and not only does that help us understand YOU better, but also other content creators as a whole. I've yet to watch the entire video yet (I'm about 3/4 of the way through) but I just really want to shout out how you arent afraid to dispel myths or call out idiots for fear of "offending" people whose opinions don't even matter anyways. I'm so glad to see that you're doing okay. It was worrying but it did need be said. Bottling everything will make things worse, after all.
Regardless of that, I believe you did the right thing. Speaking about how you really feel resonated with a lot people (including me) and just setting the right boundaries and measures to make sure you feel comfortable only makes sense.
Hopefully, now you can relax a bit more because I already know from experience how anxiety in general can affect your mental and physical health, which would affect you so much more.
Just one more thing, people won't hate you for not streaming or because of your disabilities. Well, at least the people who are fans (some people online are sad people, I guess).
I haven't been here long but the sheer amount of care people have for you as a person is immense (once again, that includes me too lol).

I've heard of that degenerative thing, but for some reason the name just didn't register with me. I hope your passion for all this comes back over time. I would love for you to enjoy doing what you do for a living. I might be 13 days a little late commenting this but now I feel dumb for commenting the "don't feel bad for people hating your videos" I never had that perspective that you did, saying it's like telling a musician that not to worry that nobody showed up to the concert or other stuff like that and that it hurts or disappoints creators. I never thought of it that way but it's good to see different points of view like that. I'm not a content creator myself or want any fame or attention or make a living or a job out of content creating so I'll never truly know. I for sure only meant it out of pure from the heart and trying to be nice. But it's also good to know how others are feeling too. Good to know that you're back and doing better. Glad you are ok.

Happy to see you doing better. I was wondering if there was a way to sponsor a game or two I think you’d sincerely get a kick out of sometime later.
I’m still unfamiliar with your gaming tastes but I think you’d be a solid fit for the Mega Man Star Force series (assuming your conditions don’t hamper your ability to put up with Nintendo DS touch gimmicks or speedy action RPG combat) or the RosenkreuzStilette games (a Mega Man-style run n gun platformer, with gothic fantasy aesthetic and waifus speaking shitty Deutsch). Struggle gameplay-wise for content and enjoy the stories along the way… except SF2, they were absolutely asleep at the wheel for that one.
Unfortunately I do struggle a lot with speedy gameplay, button mashing, etc. I have arthritis in my wrists that make those things super difficult :( I'm always open to game recommendations, though! It's always nice to find something new
@@karmunism If it helps anything, Star Force isn’t mash-heavy. Your basic attack is a hitscan gun that charges by not using it and rapid-fires entirely by holding the one button. It also has a counter system, so learning the ropes behind multi-hit Card attacks basically breaks the whole combat system wide open.
As for RosenkreuzStilette, I haven’t played the two games myself personally but if you have any experience with OG Mega Man, Mega Man Zero, or even Metal Slug and Cuphead, you probably have a solid read on how gameplay will mess with your hands and wrists. The game is a test for vets of the genre and knows how to troll noobs here and there. Beyond that, it’s got a cool gothic fantasy aesthetic in sprite art form and a solid enough story of a conflict between militant magi and the prejudiced clergy they serve while a hidden mastermind pit them against each other. Sadly the English dub fell through so bust out the reading glasses.
If either of those sound fine by you, I absolutely recommend diving in at your convenience.

Ya know, I hate this blasted site sometimes. How it only pushes people to the forefront, where they can be found, when they're at a low point. It just wants controversy, drama, and pain. And so many channels deserving of real attention get pushed into the background because of it.
I've been watching some of your videos. Not the trendy stuff that this site sorta forces you (and others) into, I mean the videos you actually enjoy making based on what you said. The RPG Maker ones. I'm about halfway through your Misao series as of right now. It's really good, seriously. Your enthusiasm for it comes through very well. You have a knack for this, I think.

Well, it seems you are doing better. To somewhat support what you said, musicians often times take requests while they perform. Obviously, that can help you be more successful. It's not unethical to cater to an audience in and of itself. Personally, that's not something I want to do. I also don't want to be famous. I do not care for money. I just do what I want. I don't think that's a wrong way to do things either. I think everyone can have their own approach to things because everyone has their own reasons for doing something. The world can be judgmental in the strangest ways at times. I just hope everyone can find a little peace in their lives somewhere.
