When I was a kid, this scene from Towering Inferno imprinted on me the idea of what it means to be an expert: knowing how to learn fast, knowing what questions to ask, cutting through the nonsense. Getting to the heart of things.
Today, I have re-imagined Steve McQueen as a consulting tester.

What you meant to ask was why you don't understand how the subtitles relate to the content. And here's the answer: you don't get the metaphor of software testing as firefighting. Mystery solved! If you learn how to test, you will understand what I did.
