This is one of the most inaccurate statements ever. This is an adaption of the original book, not an attempt to reboot the 1970’s version. You’ll notice that scenes are closer to the book (there’s no goose room but it’s faithful to the book with squirrels, the chocolate palace scene, etc). Even the lyrics of the songs are derived from the books.
