I wouldn't recommend that as it could contaminate the hydraulic system on his brand new tractor. It doesn't take very much contamination to ruin a brand new pump.
I'd say you did a fine job. Good fabrication skills. I look forward to seeing you try it out for the first time.
I bet this will be a great upgrade from the 1948 Tractor for snow plowing!

what's the width on the plow?
How thick is the metal on the quick attach plate?

Flip the cutting edge upside down and that should work.

The seals were already leaking without pressure in the system.
