the bigger ones are for the bigger head size. ray-ban slightly gave the bigger ones a design change because the bridge between the lenses would look weird and small so you got a great pair of real ones.
@@TooCooFoYou That's not the only reason, Bausch & Lomb was a reputable firm making great looking sunglasses for a correct price Now Luxottica put logos everywhere and you look like a living advertisement when you wear their new sunglasses (That really have something different btw imo)
Back in the 90s Ray Bans were really cheap, in price as well as quality, we used to call them gas station glasses because every gas station sold them. Just like the cheap ones you can buy in gas stations now...
Nice glasses. Now a very good to excellent pre-1999 set of Wayfarers will run you $185-300 on average. The word is out how inferior the the 21st century ones are. Just bought a set 80s ones myself today. The black ones you have are Wayfarer IIs which came out in the 90s and are larger overall. Nice video. Good taste.
Hi man, I see you have some knowledge in these.. I got b&l 5024 but I am not sure if they are original.. could I send you some pics somehow so you can check it for me? Thanks
no you check that the lenses bear the lb sign.also a serial number on the top right lens.wayferrer made in usa.two models can be found.normal size and size 2 so make sure you ve all this indications on a vintace rayban you buy.good luck
Great unboxing mate! At the event you'll need only lenses for them, fret not. We do lens replacement for all sunglass brands at a fraction cost of purchasing a new sunglasses.
There's the 5022 and 5024. The video shows 5022s taking out of the box. The 5024 is 2mm (or 0.08" wider at bridge) wider in frame width vs. 5022. The 5024 was offered to accommodate wider bridge noses. 0.08" just barely falls between 1/16" and 2/16" on a ruler - so it's virtually indecipherable to the naked eye. Mostly a comfort thing.
Hey, great video. quick question, im in the market for a pair of vintage Bausch and Lomb wayfarers like these. I've noticed there are alot on e-bay and im wondering how concerned should I be about fakes?? If the metal rod in the arms is clearly visible can I be certain they are authentic?
Great video. The black sunglasses that you have is actually the second model of the Wayfarer called the Wayfarer 2. Since it's the second model, obviously the lenses are bigger. I prefer the old ray bans than the ones made from Luxottica. The ones that are made in Italy use cheap materials instead of high quality materials from back in the day.
the black once are fake the brown pairs are original and you must have serial number on the right top lens .so stay original.tve company tvat baught the rayban is cromax from italy.they do some good stuff but made in America are the best
I won't even buy the Luxottica made Wafers. I have 1985 B&L Ray-ban Wayfarers Tortoise sunglasses. My friend has the Luxottica Tortoise Ray-ban 2140 Wayfarer and they are nothing like the vintage ones. Vintage Wayferers all day long for me. Your black Wayfarers look like the Wayfarer II model.
Those are some Sonny Crocketts

but i do believe they look and probably feel exactly the same as the italian ones.. just that one says US and other says Italy
These one's are freakin cool!!! always wanted one
Those glasses only cost $28 back before the new company bought them (luxottica)
Really? How do u know?
+Hunter Cartman Now add inflation to the mix.

@superapple4ever Are you selling the smaller brown ones at the moment?
MIAMI VICE
I got a used decent pair for 65 bucks online
Dude,where have you been,man
Right on man. Good vid. Looks like you got a vintage pair of B&L5022 and not the 5024. Either way they look great. Far out. Take care. All the best.
What's the difference between the 5022 and the 5024s?
@@fuckthepolice71 Hiya. The diff is, the 5024s are wider a bit. The numbers represent the lens and bridge width. So, 50mm lens and 24mm bridge.
